WE WERE GREETED BY MAYA WHOM WE HAVE KNOWN FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS OF OUR 25 YEARS OF STAYS AT THE COMO. SHE IS DELIGHTFUL. WE MET FRANCOIS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HE WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. OUR ROOM WAS KEPT BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN WITH AN AMPLE SUPPLY OF TOILETRIES BY THE ROOM STAFF FOR THE WHOLE 6 NIGHTS WE STAYED. We stayed 4 nights in March around the time that Melbourne was shutting down due to Coronavirus. We spent a lot of time in the hotel room and had a number of room service meals. We were very satisfied with the room, service and staff we encountered throughout our stay were excellent particularly Francoise at reception when we arrived, Jade in the brassiere at breakfast who gave us excellent service with a smile and Gary the manager who checked us out and was very friendly and I noted to be working to troubleshoot supply issues due to the shutdown.

Well hidden secret

This was my second stay at this hotel away from the city. Indeed a well hidden secret (probably not any more after this review) with a generous size room, good amenities, and great breakfast. Twice I stayed at the hotel, occupancy rate wasn't very high and it felt quite exclusive because you don't constantly meet other guests staying at the hotel. Having said that, there were certainly less guests due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of Grand Prix and AFL in Melb. Overall a good hotel within proximity of restaurants and a train station which took me into the city without fuss. Room facing Como Centre was noisy because of the exhaust fans but hotel staff kindly changed me to a room facing the park, which was nice and quiet. I would stay again.

The 2 bed apartment worked well for our party of 3 who were meeting other family in Melbourne. Having our own lounge area meant that our family were able to join us for drinks prior to heading our for dinner. We didn’t use the facilities because we were off doing other things but the rooms were extremely clean and tidy and we slept well. I felt that the rooms had a bit of a “business traveller’s” feel to it and this could be perhaps be addressed with a cosier decor? Thanks for a great stay.

I was on an over night business trip. Having arrived early at the hotel the reception staff took my bags put me on the list for a room as soon it was avaliable. Set me up in the bar area so i could work with coffee and water. Very attentive and helpful during the entire stay. This level of service really made it a memorable experience even if it was only for business travel.

The Como is one of those hotels that one always wants to return to. I used to stay there many years ago, long before it became an Accor hotel. The location and environs are excellent, the friendly smiles from the staff are always welcome.
