Stayed recently, and was welcomed several times by the team, who could not do enough for me. Room was fantastic, and Quan in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast couldn't be more helpful and great to chat to. Great location, and will be staying again.

Our stays at The Como just get better every time we return. I cannot fault the service, the care, the support and the kindness that the whole team of staff show from housekeeping, room service, reception, maintenance, the brasserie and management. The past 18 mths has not been easy for any of them however they have shown professionalism every step of the way and have catered to the changing restrictions extremely well, which cannot have been easy. The rooms are always immaculate and each are configured differently (depending on the room requirement) with differing views from the gorgeous pin oak trees in the gardens to the extensive views of the surrounding suburbs and of the ever changing Chapel Street right on it door. No request has ever been too difficult to discuss, remedy or understand. The shared public facilities are always immaculate and their COVIDSafe protocols are excellent, it is due to their reassurances and these protocols that I feel that the safety and wellbeing of my kids and I are a priority. As stated at the beginning I cannot fault this amazing team and wish to thank every single staff member for making our most recent stay so enjoyable, we will no doubt be returning again later in the year. In the meantime I encourage all guests to appreciate how hard this incredible team is working to create for you a wonderful and enjoyable stay during such trying times. Oh and by the way if you think it’s worth commenting on dirt on the windowsill or not the right pillow or no bath in your room....priorities people, priorities....this hotel offers first class accommodation, customer service and location. It has built a long standing reputation for excellence so please do yourself a favour and appreciate the goodness for if you are staying at The Como you are very blessed indeed.

Hello, I wanted to express my thoughts following my most recent stay at Como last weekend for two nights. To give some context, I live four hours away and booked our stay two to three weeks in advance and noted that it was for two people and that we wanted two separate beds. On my way down to Melbourne I received a cal to say that the only option for two seperate beds was in a handicapped accessible room, I mentioned since I booked so far in advance surely my request should be accommodated but she told me this was not an option as they were fully booked. The other option was a king bed to share however this was not an option. With no other option as I had been told a matter of hours before checking in and also whilst driving, we checked in. I should also mention of high significance that during my previous stay at the Como I was given an accessible room again which I made a complaint about and was moved to another room - this should have been on my file. To my shock, I am then checked in to this new stay in the exact same room that I complained about on my last stay. I cannot believe that on two occasions I have been put into this same room after complaining about it previously. When paying for a nice hotel you want to have nice facilities in your room not to mention it was for a special occasion. Further, the fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the shower flooded the room. To be honest, it was a complete dampener on our stay in Melbourne. We were then transferred to another room for the second night but this should have never happened. I was not listened to on the phone to the lady that literally told me there was no other option. I booked so far in advance that this should not have been a problem especially when on my file I have made a request to change from a disabled room previously. My partner and I stay at this hotel most times we come to Melbourne and generally we enjoy our stay, but I have to admit I found the service including the customer service lady I dealt with very unprofessional and not understanding. Disappointing stay especially during the current times, to be accomodating of people’s needs should be at the forefront of your team.

Unfortunately I was double charged fir breakfast both days(I had pre paid breakfasts when I checked in online), I had to call back once I returned home and the staff were unable to see the mistake, and it was not an easy process to receive a refund. Took around 20 minutes on the phone and I had to keep pointing out the 4 breakfast charges in my invoice

I have nominated my partner name as a comment when I did online check in, but the person at the reception insisted that I should be at present during the checking in. My partner, she had a credit card with my name in it, she presented that as an evidence, but rejected because it's not her name in it. (huh?) The person at the reception did not explain anything at all, such as breakfast time, how to connect wifi and even the check out time. She asked what time is the breakfast, and answered from 07:30 to 10:30, then the person next to said, it starts at 06:30. I have made a phone call to the reception a day before checkout, asking what time is the checking out. I asked whether I can check out at 12pm and she said checking out at noon is okay. On the next day, the reception called me at 11am, asking when I will be checking out. (huh?) I have selected breakfast ($24pp) as an option when I did online booking, but the person who checked our room number at level 2, she did not know we have selected the breakfast as options - so we were quite confused at first, she said we need to pay extra for those la carte menu. We said "we selected breakfast option", then she rang to the reception and confirmed - this should've been communicated prior to. Also the breakfast buffet, there is no bread, no jam.. wonder why butters are placed at each table the whole period of breakfast time. When checking out, the person at the reception said I have to pay the breakfast. (huh?) I explained that I pre-selected the breakfast as an option when I make the reservation and they checked the system again and let me go. But no one at the reception mentioned that the invoice will be sent out to my email address, the outstanding balance will be charged via the card registered at checking in.

We stayed at the Como for a city break with our 9 year old son. We all enjoyed its convenience to the best attractions of Melbourne as well as the really peaceful and pleasant surroundings of the hotel.

Beautiful and spacious hotel

We stayed at The Como for two nights over the Easter long weekend and got a great deal through the Accor sale. Stayed in a 1 bedroom with spa bath and it was so spacious, comfortable and clean. Our request for a quiet room with views and twin beds was met and the black out curtains provided a nice sleep. Spa bath was amazing and you get to keep their cute rubber duck. The rooftop pool was great with the retractable roof and sauna and gym facilities. Advice: book the pool in advance as due to Covid, they have limited numbers per hour. Great location with Chapel St and shops, cafes, restaurants and Palace Cinema just below and within easy walk. The Como Park is beautiful and peaceful as it's hidden from the main roads. Only minor issues: - no easily accessible power plugs in the bedroom, maybe cause of the twin beds, it was hard to find but it was right at the bottom under the beds. Even if it's king bed, the location of the plugs are not great as it's not at the side table level, so the cables probably can't reach the table and you don't want to be crawling on floor level to plug in your phone charger etc. But you can charge it at the big desk outside. - housekeeping didn't push the twin beds to proper position after room was cleaned, it was pushed against windows instead. Easy to push it back into position. - request for late check out was granted but the keycard was not programmed to the later time so couldn't go back into lift and room and had to go back to reception to reactivate it. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and it's big and spacious, unlike most standard hotels with a long hallway and so many rooms just next/opposite each other. Will definitely stay at The Como again.
