We were very excited to stay based on how the room was advertised but we’re not satisfied with the room once we arrived. The shower/bath looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time causing us to wear thongs in the shower. The staff were amazing but wouldn’t stay here again would definitely op to pay a little extra and stay at the Pullman
Dear Emmerson, Thank you for sharing your experience during your stay with us. We appreciate your valuable feedback as it helps us identify the areas in which we can improve the guest experience. We are always striving to provide the best experience for all of our guests at Mercure Melbourne Albert Park and unfortunately we have fallen short of that goal during your stay with us. We are so sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced while you were staying with us. We are always looking for ways to improve and we take all comments and reviews that we hear or read very seriously. Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us and we are going to meet with our team to ensure that this doesn't happen again. We sure do hope you allow us another chance to give you a stay more reflective of a typical Mercure experience. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you again in the near future. Kind regards, Linda Sobalbarro Rooms Division Manager

Negatives 1. Safety - We stepped off the lift on our floor and the ceiling in the halfway was so low that my boyfriend had to duck down so he didn't hit his head on the emergency exit lights. 2. Mould - We walked into our room and were greeted with a terrible smell. We went in to check the bathroom and found that the empty bath was somehow leaking water out the side, onto the floor and into the bedroom carpet. The room smelt like a mix of wet dog, mould and cheap air freshener spray. 3. Cleanliness - The walls of the room were gross. Dirty hand prints and something smeared. 4. Privacy - There was a door to an adjoining room in front of our bed, it was obviously a hollow door because we could clearly hear the people in the next room. 5. Honesty - The staff member that checked us in, advised us that $50 would have to be taken off our credit card as security for the mini bar. There was no mini bar in our room. Positives 1. We advised the manager about the state of our room and he arranged an upgrade to a loft room. 2. Our $50 "minibar bond" was returned. We will never stay in a Mercure Hotel again.

We had a fantastic stay, staff were all so accommodating and nothing was a problem. Rhet and the team at the Concierge desk were amazing and offered so much information for our first visit to Melbourne.
