Had high expectations from Novotel after reading most of the reviews here. Must say we were bitterly disappointed. Pros: 1) Location - close to a few nice eatouts and not too far from Calangute. 2) Lovely swimming pool. 3)Decent,clean rooms though on the smaller side. Cons: 1) They knew before we booked that we were on our babymoon. No small efforts at all from their side to make it special in any way or even doing any courtesies. Even after prior requests and with resort not full, they were extremely hesitant to give us any kind of late checkout. Very cold and robotic staff right from front desk to room service. 2) Below average breakfast spread and a lot of items tasted sub standard. 3) Extremely poor service at the main restaurant. We had 2 meals there and the time taken to serve even butter milk and black dal was over 45 minutes. Unclean tables without napkins and repeated requests for every item. One lady staff mentioned that she was the only old staff present and they are in process of recruiting more. As of now, inspite of best efforts of the current folks at the restaurant, looks like severely understaffed. 4) Pathetic maintenance of the sports area- Carrom Board, Badminton rackets,etc all in urgent need of replacing/repairs. 5)They dont have carpet in the corridors. So whenever the room service trolley goes to different rooms passing your room, it makes a loud screechy noise throughout the day and makes it impossible to have rest without disturbance. All in all,stay here only for the location and if spending most time outside the property. They have a lot to improve and work on for a star hotel and for the price paid. A big thumbs down. P.S - Also don't be so vain and respond to only 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. I have reviewed there as well and you have conveniently missed responding to my review while replying to all others. This does not hold you in good stead and I will be sharing this feedback with all my friends and relatives!

right from early check-in to room upgrade to room cleanliness was amazing. staff service and friendliness at the restaurant & reception was exemplary. the food was very good. chef pradip personal touch was exemplary.

The positives: 1. Stayed at elegance suite, well planned 2. Attentive house keeping , restaurant staff 3. Good breakfast spread 4. Greenery around the pool helped in providing shade at a major section 5. Quiet location, not too far from main roads and various restaurants, beach at walking distance Negatives: 1. Doesn’t have a overall 5 star property feel, more like a 3-4 star 2. Approach road small to the hotel from the road 3. Hotel signage at road entrance should be bigger 4. Didn’t get the relevant discount for 3rd night @50% rate inspite of having the relevant vouchers since i was told it had to be told at the time of reservation

The service is certainly excellent and the people make the difference. However the cleanliness of the floors and maintenance in general had a lot to be desired for me personally. Also felt the discipline of the guests around the buffet was not in keeping with COVID protocol and no one from the staff was doing anything to implement basic discipline. Not what one expects of a French chain.

Its a good property but does not qualify to be in resort category because of the space constraint. All credit goes to Yogen (duty manager) who tried to make our stay comfortable. She was very flexible and helped us in upgrading our room as per our requirement and our stay ended on a Happy Note.. Staff was decent but there is always scope of improvement if we compare with the services offered by other resorts. May be this comparison is coming because we opted for Taj exotica in South Goa and then came to Novotel for North Goa stay. One of the thing, we are very unhappy about is the rates charged to us. We did direct deal with Novotel on email but rates given to us were very high as compared to what was available online on all the travel websites. This was very disappointing. Second thing, rooms given to us initially had lot of smell (Cigratte Smoke). Since we were travelling with kids, it was very difficult to stay in those room. Even though we were transferred to other room and later upgraded. But it should have been avoided at the first instance. One more thing, I would like to share is that the services at the buffet breakfast was minimal. There were no proper cutlery at the table and lack of adequate staff to serve the guests.7:30 to 11:00am was very chaotic time at the restaurant. It could have been well managed with adequate staff.
