The Mecure at Williamtown is a great place to stay whether overnight or for a few days. The hotel is well located and has ample parking. This stay, as an ACCOR Gold member I was upgraded to a larger room on arrival. The rooms are very clean, modern and well serviced. The restaurant is well furnished with a lovely decor and furniture. Menu provides a good choice of food and is well prepared. All staff are fantastic and always greet and serve you with a smile. Nothing is too hard and they go out of theircway to make your stay memorable. In fact the staff are the biggest asset of the hotel are are commended for their dedication. Another wonderful stay and we will be back again soon.

As a Platinum member, had paper cups and paddle pop sticks in place of cups and spoons , that was the level of standard, TV volume not working I will not stay there again. regards, Colin m.

Staff very welcoming and assisted on our brief stay. Room was clean and well positioned to the airport. Food was good for both dinner and breakfast. Dinner for my wife was a bit weird but we found out fish and chips was the traditional English dinner. Overall not a bad place to stay for what we wanted

Nice location, nice rooms but bad food and unpleasant experience

Everything was good other than the dining experience. We had been seated but one of your dinning room staff, she was very polite and was doing nothing wrong other than an overwhelming smell. I can appreciate that working late shifts and even double shifts things can get away from you but been in hospitality extra steps need to be taken. With that in mind we got to the end off our meal and noticed a hair in the bowl of olives we ordered as a share plate. this is what tipped the experience. To the credit of the manager on duty she did not charge us for the dish, but this did not make us feel any better.

- No room service menu in room (nor on tv interface). - Problems with billing (ie restaurant/room service charges not recorded) however this was fixed by reception staff. - Why is there a charge for car parking? This makes no sense at all.

Booked online was easy and had room ready at checkin and room was large and clean. Bed was little hard but my husband slept well

Great hotel, some safety concerns as a single female

This hotel was lovely with all you need for a comfortable stay. My concern as a single female travelling for work was with the check in process. After lining up in between two male travellers as well as standing within ears shot during this process from several males at the bar I was asked for my name for check in. Standard process... I handed the woman facilitating my check in my drivers License and credit card in the hope she would pick up my que for a discreet check in. Unfortunately she did not and as I had observed with the traveler before me she announced my room number with great enthusiasm, easily to be heard by anyone in the foyer or bar. I urge you to consider your check in process for vulnerable guests. I travel often and whilst staff announcing room numbers is standard practice it is normally done with hushed tones. Furthermore it is unusual for the bar to be as close as it is at the Newcastle airport Mercure creating the perfect location for opportunistic travellers.

Probably the best hotel in the Newcastle area

This is one of the nicest hotels in the Newcastle area which is why I don't mind staying that distance away from the city when staying in Newcastle. We never stay there because we are using the airport, but it's obvious fantastic for that too. The rooms are very pleasant and the food and beverage service is quite excellent. Of course I do miss the buffet breakfasts but they will be back at some stage. It would be nice to have some USB port style power outlets near the beds. I've seen these in even Ibis budgets and they are really handy in case you forget your phone chargers. It's a lovely hotel and I strongly recommend it. It's usually always good value.
