During my stay the room was modern and clean with a lovely pool view. Both pools were lovely as well as the grounds. The buffet breakfast was fantastic also. I know staffing is a major issue currently in QLD and they were doing the best they could. As a platinum member when possible can have an early check-in but the room wasn't ready and so was told would get a call when the room was ready and waited by the pool. Got to 1430 and hadn't got a call and so when and lined up at reception and was told oh yes the room is ready, a call would have been nice. Also requested a late check out and asked at reception before going to breakfast and said was fine and updated the room key. Then in the room got a call at 11.30 saying you were supposed to check out at 11am, said I had a late check out and said well its not in the system.

Overall the stay was ok. Understand the cut back on usual services given COVID, however given the price of accommodation the value proposition wasn't great. The biggest issue we had during the stay was with the WIFI. This was a key decision factor in making this booking as I had work to complete on the Thursday and Friday of our stay. However, the WIFI network was out (just for our block) all of the Friday which impacted my ability to work. Contacted the desk between 1100am - noon. Was told in essence to fix the issue myself by contacting the 3rd party provider (Riviernet) which I did. They said the issue was at the hotel and specific to the block I was in. Relayed that to the desk. However, hours later was still not fixed. This was a bit disappointing.

My room was just lovely, the king bed and clean crisp white linen was so comfortable, loved and enjoyed the spa, peaceful, surrounded by lush tropical garden overlooking the golf course, free internet and underground parking, late checkout was all but impressed, would absolutely stay again, staff were lovely, everything was perfect, thankyou

Day 1: checked in and noticed there was 1 set of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel for 3 guests; there was also a half used packet of milk in the fridge. Day 2: spoke to reception via room phone and was advised that room is only serviced every second day; requested extra sets of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel but they never turned up; ended up visiting reception and received shampoo/conditioner/shower gel from Ben at reception. Day 3: room was not serviced; spoke to Ben at reception and agreed that new towels would be provided and full room service would occur on day 4; new towels were provided in the evening. Day 4: room was not serviced; spoke to reception and room service was organised immediately; room was serviced but cups were not washed properly and had tea/coffee marks. Day 5: check-out was easy.

We stayed at Mercure Palm Meadows Resort for my son's wedding at the nearby Braeside Chapel. The resort offers a very generous wedding package rate and positioned the 12 or so groups who took advantage close together. A fantastic resort with lots of facilities still available despite Omicron being quite prominent on the coast.

Except the first disastrous experience of walking in with kids and facing trainee reception who sent us to eagle block for toilets whereas toilets are just next to reception we had good experience. We have travelled to almost all continent and never had bad experience with the front office staff that too from Mercure group. I don't want that lady to loose job but she should remember to not repeat and lie to customers. She just blankly said our room is not ready so go back and come after 1 hours whereas rooms were available. Sorry when I remember of the episode it just make my blood boil.

After searching booking.com for best prices, I called the Mercure Gold Coast directly to rate match for my chosen date, this ensures the hotel is receiving 100% of our money spent, which I always try to do. Everyone on the phone in reservations was super helpful and lovely to speak with. Shortly after making the reservation, I saw an email come through confirming everything, I should have checked the details but the phone call was so easy that I felt I didn't need to, my mistake. Come to online check in the morning of, I've noticed the booking has been made for one adult and one child. This overnight stay was ALWAYS for my husband, myself and our only child. After waiting more than 20mins at reception for check in, the lady confirmed one adult and one child, to which I responded with the above information; that I'd called to book directly, the booking was always for 2 adults and 1 child. The gent on the phone advised the room rate of $268 including breakfast for two and when I enquired about breakfast for our son, he said just pay at the restaurant on the morning of for our child. The lady at reception now retreats to see a manager and comes back to tell me our room rate has increased to $290 due to a third person being added. Another senior member of staff intervened at this point as the lady I was dealing with explained to her in front of me that I'd only booked for 1 adult and 1 child, which was incorrect. By now, I'm a little over explaining myself. I ask her to take all the breakfasts off the room rate and we'll eat elsewhere in the morning. The more senior and helpful lady agreed to sort it out and add the missing breakfasts as complimentary, she apologised for the confusion. Finally 30mins after stepping intro reception, I finally left to park the car feeling somewhat annoyed but relieved things had been sorted. At the time of booking our room, I also made an online reservation at The Green, the hotel restaurant for dinner. We were sat at a lovely table and had our drink and food orders placed, then we waited, and waited. The table of 4 that was seated next to us about 10mins after us suddenly had an arrival of drinks and food, meanwhile we were still sipping water and eating a shared bread, it had been 40mins since we placed our food and drinks order. Trying to flag down waitstaff was impossible. I ended up helping myself to the wait station for a bottle of water. From ordering at 7pm, at 7.45pm we finally managed to flag someone down to advise how long we'd been waiting even just for drinks. I will commend some of the wait staff and restaurant manager here for a genuine apology and drinks/bread on the house, at 8pm our food finally arrived, although our son was too tired to eat anyway. Food was actually very delicious. The next morning we arrived at the same restaurant for the included buffet breakfast, only to be told we would still need to be charged for our son. At this point - whatever, I'm not even surprised. Would I rush back to stay here, no. Did 'some' staff try their best in customer service, absolutely. I understand the entire hotel and hospitality is struggling right now with employment after two years of the pandemic. I just wanted to offer feedback, both good and bad.

The room was clean and tidy but the entrance area to the room smelt like mouldy old socks. Quiet location that's close enough to all the Gold Coast has to offer.

My wife and I really liked the Hotel, very comfortable, well located, just one point that made us unhappy, the notice was hung on the door handle to clean the room before we went for a walk and when the room was not cleaned. Anyway, we liked the hotel and hope to come back someday. =)

Our Christmas @ Mercure Gold Coast was great, we were made very welcome with a special welcome card and treats from the Manager. Our requested room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking the golf course. The large pool in this resort had new outdoor furniture all around. We really enjoyed the Christmas Breakfast, with some lovely touches. Great Nespresso coffee machine. Back soon.

Enjoyed our stay. Found all the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a family get together for my granddaughter’s 21st Birthday and had a lovely time. The staff looked after us at dinner and surprised my granddaughter when bringing her birthday cake out signing to her, which was a delight for the end of the evening.
