I have been using Novotel Curitiba for some years for very short stays but the last two stays I had problems. Early this year was the problem with the car’s entrance blocked with vehicles parked there, preventing me from unload the luggage - I had to wait in the street for a room to unload the bags. None those vehicles seemed to have guests checkin. This recent stay there was again one car parked there, waiting for who knows what and the valet just bothered to move that car few inches because I had to get very close to it order to not block the sidewalk. Now the reception for checking in: my wife went to take care of the checking while I was unloading the bags and very few minutes later we met in the lobby. I asked about the checking is process and she said was smooth, however, when I checked with my wife about the rate paid, we just realized the receptionist charged a higher rate! Actually, the rate she charged was around 50 BRL expensive than the the rate I got in the App. So I had to went to the counter and pointed out the discrepancy. After some while the receptionist said she charged a wrong rate but I have to say her behavior was not good, giving the idea this was just a silly mistake. Another deception was the food at the restaurant - a restaurant we have used many time before. This time, the quality of the food, it’s appearance and taste was very above the expectation. I was temped to book the Mercure to try it out but after driving around 400km, I decided to use the Novotel for the familiarity, but just regretted no booking another hotel. This was my last time at the Novotel Curitiba.

One day when I came home in the evening my door to the room was open. I notified the reception, but no one seemed to care. Said that cleaning probably forgot to close it (in the morning). Two days later when I came home there was a see through bottle filled to the third with clear liquid (maybe water) left in the middle of my zink. The same, notified the reception that I was not happy, but no one really cared, said that cleaning probably forgot something. Feels like someone was using my room when I wasn’t there.
