The staff are great especially Uyen in the privilege lounge who is always so super helpful and so polite. She always has a smile and greets everyone so joyful. She is efficient and very attentive. She has excellent attitude customer service skills.

3 day stay but room is small, food is ok but no thing special

Good Hotel centrally located

29OAK TripAdvisor review

This is basically a business hotel being centrally located in Haiphong. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We were lucky enough to be up graded to a suite which was spacious and had great views. The staff were great which always makes a difference to your stay. Breakfast was average and nothing to write home about. There was a pool on the 28th floor, great to do laps in. The club lounge appeared to be running as some sort of cafeteria with hoards of young men eating massive plates of very average lukewarm food and leaving 20 minutes later clutching beer cans. On our last night all the food was cold - think they'd forgotten to turn the hot plates on. Having said that, our stay was fine. Haiphong, not being a tourist destination, was wonderful to walk around - wet markets, food stalls and the traffic not as crazy as Hanoi.

The House keeping, Room Service does not answer calls. They sold me a tour package that was 3 times more expensive.

The room was clean and tidy. 3 points only for the room. The House Keeping and Room Service doesn't answer calls. I called them 4 times at different timings but no response. The manager Sang pushed a Halong Bay Package of 29… dong which I purchased. Pick-up and drop at hotel was good. But he gave me private tour guide (not required at all) and a junkyard boat. Same package in a luxurious cruise with hotel pick-up and drop was available at 10… d. And the manager told me 4 times to give a good hotel review but didn't care how my stay was, whether or not I had breakfast, how will I travel back from Mercure to Hanoi. He just kept selling expensive tours and travel offers. Overall a very bad experience. I will not recommend it to anyone. Skip this hotel altogether.
