I have stayed many times before. The room was lovely and the hotel is well situated. However, I accidentally split wine on the bed and the hotel said they couldn’t change my linen that night. On returning to my room the following early evening, the linen was still soaked in wine and my room had not been serviced. I was given a night’s refund for this in fairness, but it would have been preferable to have had the room serviced.

We booked 2 nights. There was a delay in checking in on arrival date, but the hotel gave free drinks vouchers so we can chill while we wait. We got a 7th floor room which gave us an awesome view of the Liverpool Eye and Mersey river. Room was clean and provided all we needed. Breakfast selection was fantastic. Walking distance to all the touristic spots and amazing restaurants. Highly recommended!

Everything about the hotel superb except for the restaurant food in the evening.Poor choice and when we chose from a better menu salmon dipping in oil. Would definitely stay again but would it out. However breakfast was superb.

Disorganised booking system

Dear Mr Brailsford On Tuesday 31 August, I booked 2 rooms at the Liverpool, Pullman. My booking references: KPJLDPBH & KPKLBDNM The bookings included evening meals & breakfasts for 4 people. I explained that it was for 2 autistic adults with 2 carers. I also requested that the autistic adults wanted to stay on the 8th floor. One of the autistic men wanted to eat at a local restaurant (autistic people like to do the same things; he’s always done that when he stays at your hotel.) The carer rang the hotel to cancel 2 evening meals, but was told that there was no reservations because no meals or breakfasts had been booked. I not only had booked, but the money was paid and taken from my account. The carer checked whether the 8th floor rooms were available. She was assured they were. Because on a previous occasion I’d booked a meal only to be told on arrival I hadn’t, I decided to cancel all food and let the carers request them if they required them. I rang on the 24/8/21 and was told all food was cancelled and the money was to be returned on the card I’d booked with. When they arrived on the day of their stay, they were told that their 2pm check in was now 4pm. They were also told it wouldn’t be the 8th floor. When the carer said the 8th floor was confirmed, she was asked ‘did she have that in writing’. It was also a surprise to be told their meals were all booked in at the restaurant. The carers rang me and asked for direction on what to do. I said just to cancel 2 meals and to let the rest of the booking remain. I just feel the professionalism of your booking system is shambolic. The refund for food was never processed as I was told it would be. Their seems to be a lack of coordination and communication by the booking team. When you have two adults with severe learning disabilities the last thing you want to have is confusion and stress at the check in. The staff on the frontline did their best. They managed to get them on the 8th floor, much to the relief of the disabled men. They also provided a free drink while they had a 2 hour wait. I’m not sure whether to book your hotel again because a restful stay can turn into a stressful experience. The autistic adults always ask for the Pullman because it’s familiar to them. I’m sorry to complain, but you need to sort out obvious holes in your booking procedure. Also, if the call handler tells a client ‘the money has been refunded’ then he needs to be honest because it never was; the 2 meals cancelled on the day has been refunded. Regards. Pauline C..

Poor start but a nice finish

Our check in experience was very poor. We expected our room at the allotted time of 1400 hours. We were told the room wasn't ready, so returned at 1600 only to be told the room was still not available. Finally we got our room at 1700, which meant we had to alter our plans. The rest of the stay was excellent due to the great staff. Big shout out to Roni in the breakfast room for her great customer service

Good location, nice facilities

This was a very pleasant trip for myself and my 14 year old son. We had twin singles beds but they were the slightly larger Euro single (3ft wide) so were very comfortable. The food was nice in the bar area and the service from the staff their was excellent. Very happy with the service. Parking was £12 for one night which is fine.

Had an overnight stay last week, rooms were nice and had a good view of the Albert Dock & the Mersey. The breakfast was extremely good. My only minor issue was when checking in, there was an issue with getting rooms, however this is understandable with current staffing situations.

I did have a problem.Which is being dealt with. Regarding my online check in before arrival. I paid my £270. Upfront. But was then challenged Sunday morning about the fact my payment for my stay could not be met. Confused I paid again and checked out. Only after arriving home and checking 2 pending amounts in my bank account. Did I ring the hotel to explain the problem. They did admit it was a problem that had occurred with a few people that morning. And like I commented earlier it is in the process of being dealt with.which I am happy with, but will not be using the early check in again because of the confusion it caused on the morning of checkout.

Very disappointed with housekeeping, bed was thrown together, even on our first day, had to ask for tea bags, and toiletries. Only one dressing gown for a double room. Bathroom floor not very clean and room dusty.

30 minutes waiting to check in, young lady on desk was a trainee, that should not have been left on her own when you knew that the hotel was full. At breakfast asked a staff member for some coffee to be told that it wasn’t his job! Unbelievable response. House keeping did not visit our room on 2nd day, so needed to request toilet roll twice before it arrived. Bathroom floor in our room was disgustingly dirty, the grout between the tiles needs a good clean. Wondering if the fact you clearly have staffing issues, was worth your good reputation, especially as the hotel was full, granted many of the guests were on a company outing so probably were not thinking about the service levels or value for money, it was probably not theirs, however, I’m quite sure the guests that were there on personal business were thinking whether it was money well spent! Luckily there are many many hotels in the town so plenty of alternatives for future visits. I would like to point out the majority of the staff we had interaction with were especially helpful and professional, let’s hope you can reward them for their efforts, especially as they are working hard in very different and difficult circumstances.

Check in was bad, arrived at 12:45 to be told was 14:00 which was fair enough. Arrived back after 1615 to see long queue for check in. Receptionists were heroic due to many late checkouts & lack of house cleaning staff. Even though at 1245 we saw at least 3 - 4 parties coming out of the lift to check out. Hotel can be very busy with a conference on & also for cruise ship drop offs.

We chose to stay at the Pullman Liverpool due to its location, as it would be quieter than being central but close enough to the city centre and shops. As soon as we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us and helped us with our bags. Then Chris checked us in and showed us to our room. Even when we had some hiccups, Chris did everything in his power to resolve any problems. Our suite had a beautiful view of the Liverpool Eye and had every amenity we could need and more. It was also exceptionally clean. We slept well, as it was quiet. Chris was aware of my disabilities and tried to cater to them, which put me at ease. After a wonderful birthday party with friends, my partner and I had another night for relaxation. When we came back from a day of shopping, I was given a birthday card and some presents from Chris and the staff. I was so shocked at the generosity and thoughtfulness of the staff. We’ve already booked to our next stay and we can’t wait to stay at the Pullman again. Thanks to Chris and all of the staff.

Overpriced and very average

We asked for a room on a high floor and were given a room on the 2nd floor. Who puts "Executive" rooms on the 2nd floor? The room was not clean with water and hair in the bath, one of the days no one even bothered to clean the room. Breakfast was Premier Inn quality but was extremely expensive. We elected not to eat breakfast the 2nd and 3rd day and go out. The room was over £200 but was definitely not worth it. The room was nice enough and the hotel was quiet which is difficult to achieve over a weekend in Liverpool.
