Poor Mercure experience

The bar had little drinks to offer and staff in bar and brekfast was unfriendly. Receptionists were great though. Rooms were ok and up to the quality I expect from these hotels. We were facing the street side in our room but it was well insulated and decently quiet. Please clean the remotes of TVs as they are full of gunk and look ugly.

i didnt get room i was asking while booking. staff was polite but not helpful. most funny we were not served in the bar, guy said it's closed, but there were people still sitting. but that is ok, there are many hotels in Riga, who cares

Clean, right and efficient for the proposes I needed. The reception staff solved a problem I had when I forgot some belongings. Suggestion: Please consider to extend the availability for late dinner. When the weather is cold, likely to happen in Riga, it is good to have this option of late dinner without leaving the hotel.

Great service from the minute I arrived. Assisted with printing documents, a DHL pick up... nothing was too much trouble. Room was comfortable, location perfect- railway station a few minutes walk away, BOLT to the airport under 10Euro.

Mercure is the best situated hotel in Riga. Easy to come and leave, by bus from the airport. The railway to Jurmala is just behind the corner, as a big, new shopping centre Origo. In Origo you can really find everything. Also the biggest open air market of Europe is near by. You can easily walk to the old town and the Opera house. The staff is always nice. The rooms are spacy, comfortable and clean. As on the top of the breakfast, you can enjoy a class of sparkling wine. We can hardly wait that spa is going to get open. We have stayed in Mercure about 30 times. That should tell you the Story.

Everything was very nice. The negatives are: I was in room 423 first in Riga. Lots of bugs in the bathroom when the light is off. I think they are called silverfish those bugs. It’s because of bad tile installation and holes around them. Doorframe next to shower is mouldy in both rooms. And my second room 523 - stains in the carpet on both sides of the bed. And on the right side of the tv a lot of water damage on the wall. I went for an inspection on the hotel and if all water damage is fixed soon in and outside it’s not really expensive, the longer you wait the hotel will mild and walls crack and the repair cost will be like building a new hotel. There is water damage on the outside walls more as you get higher. I liked the whole stay even though it’s silly to order someone to use a mask when there is no one close. I would come again later and be curious to see if all damage is fixed or it continues to grow. Everything was very clean. Please clean the sand from in front of the hotel when the snow is long gone.

We stay 4 days at this hotel, the staff at the front desk are very attentive. The rooms are ok but think they will need a renovation soon. Breakfast very good, and always filling up. Last evening there are no peanuts in the Bar!! But the Staff Linda did her best and prepare some peanuts.
