« A comfortable place to stay »

We enjoyed the clean room, friendly staff, good security and inside restaurant 24 hour. While, besides a port, few interesting site is in neighborhood, even no convenience market in walk area.

« Ok, but I was expecting a little more for the Platinum status. »

Hi, I had just received my new Platinum card and I was expecting what it would be the new Welcome Amenities? Unfortunately I did not receive anything new despite the welcome drink. I suppose the reception desk did not check my status or there is nothing different from the Gold status to expect more? Better luck next time.

« Such a huge disappointment »

We were a group of 6 people who went to Rio for a 8 day trip. Always stayed at Novotel chains across the world, and so opted for this in Rio too. Was a huge disappointment after the stay. To start with, 90% of the staff members can’t communicate in English. Was a huge barrier even to ask for water. Second, their breakfast. The food was extremely average. Their breakfast area was so dirty and looked like it was never cleaned for months. The plates and cups had food all over them and never seemed to have been washed. The area is definitely not the safest. Even though reviews say you can walk to downtown and it’s extremely nice neighborhood, you cannot step out after dark. Extremely unsafe. Thank god for Uber! Overall was disappointed with this stay in spite of spending so much money.

The new receptionist Lucas is very kind and helpful. I had problems with the card to access the elevators and to access my room, having to return to the reception 4 times before someone goes with me to see the door was not working, the elevator works on a trial and error basis. Restaurant personnel and food are very good and varied. Water could be delivered filtered at reception at least, to avoid using so many small plastic bottles, thinking on the environment.

Very satisfied as usual. First time at this property. I`d recommend the front desk to provide clear directions about parking. THe valet is not needed. You can go around and park yourself at the underground parking lot and pay directly. Hotel should provide information about the choice of either using the valet or self parking.

« dirty seat covers in dining room lower appetite, shampoo/cond bottles not always renewed »

Hotel was just ok. Food was bland, small things bothered me such as toaster not being plugged, if I came towards middle of breakfast time the food was mostly gone and not renewed, filthy cushion covers on chairs in dining room which makes me think that food handling might be same, conditioners/shampoo not always changed. Workers at Hotel were nice. The design of room could have been better, bizarre light switches, not sure how they worked, swinging doors in bathrooms were annoying.

« Dangerous area, noisy nightclubs nearby at night »

This was disappointing. It's in a very sketchy area, it feels unsafe during the day never mind at night. Security is menacingly overbearing, presumably for this reason. Both weekend nights, a noisy outdoor nightclub opposite means you have little chance of sleeping. I'm told I had an upgrade as a gold member, but I'd never have known it was otherwise - I didn't even get a view of the derelict harbour. Staff nice enough, room clean - but I'd never stay here again.

« Room was very noisy »

While the room was very nice and clean, just in front of the hotel there is a nightclub and I heard the music all the night until 7am. I couldn't rest as expected and I was traveling for business reasons.

Unstable and slow wifi signal in the room, air conditioner had a strong dust smell and room service accepted my order for diner (told me it would take 50 minutes) justo to call me 40 minutes later to tell they didn't have the dish I ordered available (I ended up cancelling the order and didn't have diner since it was late).
