Hi, the experience was generally great. A few things can be better. There were a lot of leaves that keep falling down in the pool even when the cleaner came to remove them. I see a lot of small particles swirling in the pool which kind of worrying in the recent times. The other isolated event was a deadfall that almost killed me. I was walking towards the lobby, along the way, i heard some weird sound, when i turned around and stood. the huge branch fell and could have killed anyone it left on. I have a photo if you need it. I would recommend all big trees to be constantly checked for the safety of all hotel guests. My checked in was also delayed but it was well handled by the staff and please thank them for me.

We had our yearly staycation at one of my fav hotels and we had a great time. A thumbs up for the friendly and professional service rendered at check in , the concierge and the Housekeeping . The buffet breakfast was delicious with a good spread.

Its a great place for a chill weekend getaway, staff are very friendly and helpful. However, they seem to be short on manpower. During our check-in, there was a long line waiting for both check-in and check-out and there was nobody at the priority check-in counter. We also did not receive our Accor Plus member's welcome drink voucher (I only realised that we were entitled to it the day of our checkout). The staff I approached was very helpful and polite nonethless. During our stay, we attempted to reach the reception, or service personnel, through the phone in our room but to no avail on multiple counts. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway for us.

Stayed with Sofitel Sentosa Resort & Spa over the weekend, the ambience was lovely, really helps you wind down. Upon arrival bellman was friendly and guided us to check-in, but no one was at the counter. Luckily there was a staff by the concierge (I presume), who came over to help us with check in after a short wait. Room overall is clean, but I've spotted some errors around, e.g. the bathrobe had stains on it, the water kettle was not cleaned properly and had leftover water inside. Towards the night I called 'onetouch' for some ice, they took quite a long while to answer my call. Waited for 15-20mins, and called a 2nd time, but my ice never came. Hairdryer seems like its gonna breakdown soon as well, please check and have it changed for better guest experience. Next morning, we went down for breakfast, Overall food selection was good, from a selection of cheeses to hot food and pastries. quality is great too, only problem is that we found a few dirty plates, and a staff seems to be clearing tables even though guests have not finished their food. I understand its a busy morning service, but please double check before clearing your guest's table, not talking about plates here, I'm talking about removing utensils and cups as well. We walked around the hotel to checkout the facilities around after breakfast, I think the fish spa is a really good touch for guest satisfaction, thanks and keep it up. Towards checking out we noticed a queue so we went to another counter to ask if we could check-out there instead but, at the counter we noticed your staff on her phone as we approached, and even after she hung up, she asked her questions, she was still stuck on her phone and told us to wait while looking intensely at her phone. Shouldn't guests always be first? I think the attitude she showed is really unprofessional. She then proceeded to tell us the check-out and only be done at the front desk, after-which she went back to her phone. Fortunately, the queue at the front desk was fast and my checkout was a speedy one as well.

Signed up for the Retreat package 2D1N stay recently. Confirmation email was sent to a wrong email address (entered incorrectly manually by the staff). I had to call to chase to find out the first error. I thought the check-in/check out procedures seemed much longer than some of the hotel/resorts of similar category. I spent more time waiting in queue. After check-in, we were directed to a separate table to confirm our dinner reservations, that check in lady left and we had to ask at the dinner reg table how to get to our room as we were not informed... Hmmmm Room was lovely, amenities were good. Stayed at the Peace Wing and that was the first bit I would say a better start of the weekend. Fridge was not cold at all so had to asked for additional drinks to be delivered. Room service was prompt. Next, SoSpa massage was great, the boyfriend enjoyed it, so did i. it really did what it needed to do. A few not so pleasant points: 1. Mud Pool - it was empty. 2. Floatation Pool, not sure if it is the one with the smaller water fall, it looked like some growth of algae is in place... time for a beef up perhaps? 3. Swimming pool was good. We went to chill out at Hotel pool - great. club sandwich was delicious. Great chill out place. Dinner at The Cliff: We were greeted, seated to our table, pleasant start, ordered our wines by the glass - two different pours which looked to be short. first two courses were served promptly. Service was quick to clear the plates, they forgot to top up water which were left empty for a long time at least 30 mins. The wait staff dont seem to make a lot of eye contact with guests... Ordered second glass of wine - pour was the normal portion for that wine glass... Moving on. The fish dish i had as part of the package was dry, the sauce on my place tasted a bit spicy with chilli and boyfriend's fish was bland. It took at least 20 mins for those two plates to be cleared when we finally made some gestures. The desserts is the cherry on the icing of the evening too. Dessert only took another 30 mins to show up on our table. It does not take that long to bring two plates of tiramisu out of your chiller after firing the dish which were plated and prepped ahead of time. How do we tell? Your plates were chilled upon service. Awkward moment was when the chef came out of the kitchen to meet and greet a few guests and asked us how was it? We said it was ok to keep it short and sweet. Our evening went well as we had so much to chat and laugh about. The experience and quality of food was so-so honestly. The Cliff before the resort name change held a much higher standard. Breakfast lounge - Selections were a good spread. I hope my feedback will help you to really get cracking from the inside on how to better billed Sofitel as a luxury resort as it is branded as. This totally falls short of luxury to begin with. I appreciate the staff's efforts and working hard, pulling shifts... but there is more to be done from different ways to represent that Sofitel is a luxury resort, it definitely falls short for my experience.

We were here for the retreat to sanctuary package. The good - good value overall. Spa was great. Complimentary Birthday cake was appreciated. The freshly made-to-order croquet monsieur we had at the pool restaurant was excellent. Staff at front desk and around the resort were friendly and smiling always. The bad: The room was not fresh smelling - the linens had a musty smell to it like it's not been used for a while. Dinner was appalling in terms of food quality. Service average at best.

Held our solemnization event with at Villa 1. We received a good level of service and attention during the organization phase. The day itself went off very well, our event stylists were given early access to the villa, the bar & banquet management was handled excellently, the food was great and could be adjusted to our needs.

Disappointing Anniversary Staycation

Chosen Sofitel to have my 1st anniversary with my wife, as had a joyous experience many years back. Had booked Retreat to sanctuary package with additional 1 night booked. Check-in: smooth and helpful front desk staffs. Room: nice decor and clean. But less the bathtub as was not clean with black stains. Had to clean myself as brought our own bubble bath. Dinner @ the cliff: - Reservation made for the set dinner with email request on outdoor with view days prior actual. - Assigned seat outdoor but not at deck, with partial block view by retractable shades. - Seek help from staff if possible to rollup for a good view of sunset. Gone and no update thereafter. - After 20mins, requested again, staff came back with exasperation and bunch of controllers. Saying see, spoil cannot. - Dinner served, appetizer served wrong table. Left on my table 10plus mins then left taken away to correct table. - Requested wine list and top up of ice water. Not done. - Food served, mediocre. Stopped at last course. - For 45mins. In between waiting made another 2 attempts for wine list and ice water. Enquire status of desert as well. Not done and no getting back at all. (despite 2different staffs). - Frustrated and spoiled the whole dinner. Stood up and walk to the main counter and posted my queries and highlighted on lapse. Not much response nor apology. Still on same thing will check. Told her no need, bill please as i had other plans and this laspe over run all. - Ended up driving out to demsey for desert and wine instead. - Back to hotel, requested room service for wine glasses to continue the night. 2 wine glasses were sent to our room. But its alittle disappointing/surprise to find 2 wine glasses with diff ounce size. DAY2: - Breakfast was good, good variety/setup and staff been welcoming and helpful. - Tea time at the lounge bar, seriously seems short handed. After seated and wave to staff(whom acknowledged), waited 10mins still no menu. Other patrons similar to us, has to self service for menu. Food was decent served about 15mins later but cranberry juice from the pack took about 30mins. (req fresh juice but noted no fresh juice at that timing during inital order) - SPA, professional and gave a very relaxing environment and sense of ease. I would say that we started the 1st day experience bad and certainly dampen the whole anniversary with much disappointment and frustration for whole trip. Wasnt expecting a 5 star resort to have such and didnt recall Sofitel having such substandard services.

The room was good and the architecture of the hotel delightful. Staff+food could do with a revamp. We tried to reat at Le Bar the first night;I looked at the live seafood list:nearly all items were unavailable.Breakfast on our last morning,I waited 15 minutes to get an omelette:noone ever came,I left. The young man at check out could not cope with our bill;fortunately I paid the night before as that took over 15 minutes again.

Great stay at the luxury room, delicious food at Le Bar, great massage by Rodel at So Spa. Two bad points is the booking is made by e-mail with a promotion, the Cliff and So Spa have to email and ask for reservation, they are a little bit unprofessional. The staff asked me 3 times the same question and email me again after I confirmed twice. Then the staff replied the e-mail with the previous conversation with my personal data with many other staffs and I can read everything. Overall still a great experience, I'll go back when they have more promotion and please renovate the So Spa, it was poorly maintain.

This is our second time staying in Sofitel with our little one. We had a wonderful experience the first time round so we decided to return. However, this time round, we were a little disappointed. The bedsheets in our room were dusty and unclean. My daughter and I had rashes after the first night. It was better after we requested for the bedsheets to be changed. We had booked our accommodation for 3 nights. However, it was booked separately as 2 nights + 1 night. When we checked in, it was highlighted to the reception desk and we thought there wouldn’t be an issue. On our 3rd day, we received a call asking what time we intended to check out to which we raised the separate booking issue. No one actually called us back, despite us making 2 calls to enquire. Subsequently, our room cards were deactivated and we had to make a trip down to the reception desk. We did appreciate some of the nice gestures that the hotel made like the slice of cake and fruits for my daughter’s 4th birthday, which was a lovely touch. Otherwise, lovely hotel with a wonderful feel.

We have stayed at this resort several times over the past 10 years and always enjoyed it but it got more and more expensive till it was out of our price range. When it came up on Luxury Escapes, we were thrilled at the opportunity to stay there once again, as a couple and celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday together. We were welcomed warmly and felt very pleased to be back. The hotel had made changes since our last visit but the feeling of comfort and welcoming was still there. .....until we used our first voucher which showed we were traveling as Luxury Escape guests. We chose to eat lunch at Kwee -Zeen on our first day and despite being surprised and somewhat disappointed in that we were presented with a set menu to choose from while other diners got a complete menu, we chose well and thoroughly enjoyed our sweet and sour fish with rice followed by a small but perfect slice of red velvet cake. The drinks was a different matter. I ordered Prosecco and received a glass of flat, stale wine that was suitable only for the bin. Apologies were made and another glass arrived which was more suitable. Everything else at the hotel was lovely until we used voucher #2 for dinner at the exceptionally good restaurant The Cliff, where we had dined many times before, with the memory of amazing food and service firmly etched in our minds. Not so this time. This time, sadly, the memory of the meal will live with us for a very different reason. From the time we were seated, we were made to feel like we were unimportant patrons, second rate customers. We were given, what looked like, an exciting menu. 4x choices of starters 3x choices of pasta 4x choices of mains 2x choices of desserts After taking our time and making our decisions based on what we were used to on European menus, we placed our order. One from each section. Only to be informed that we could only choose from two sections. Ok. I changed my choices and chose Cavatelli from the pasta section, followed by Pollo and Polenta from the main section. I was then told that I could only order a starter and a pasta or main or dessert. Ok. So I ordered the Hamachi Ceviche as a starter, followed by the Cavatelli for my pasta dish as a main course. Other diners around us, clearly not on the Luxury Escapes package, were being brought baskets of bread. We were not even offered it, and eventually had to ask for some. Our first course arrived.....well, one of them did. I had to wait at least another 5 minutes for mine. They were both tasty and a good start to what we thought was going to be a good meal. When our main courses came however, it all unravelled. My pasta dish was tiny. About 14 pieces of pasta with sauce, and a nibble sized portion of burrata (certainly not enough to have mentioned it in the menu) perched on the top!! Certainly not a main course size by anyone’s standards. We did complain and even the lovely waitress agreed that they portion size was not worthy of a main meal. The chef also came out to apologize which we did appreciate but despite the delicious flavors in the meal, the damage was done. It had pooled our evening and set the tone fir how we felt the rest of the time there. We did go back to The Cliff On our last night and repute having a better experience, the damage had been done. We had 2 other lunch vouchers we could have used, a drinks voucher we could have used, and a massage voucher we could have used. It was our decision not to do so, but to be honest, we had been made to feel so ‘unimportant’ that we just didn’t bother. The only time we felt like a full paying guest was at the pool and at the bar where we paid full price for drinks and chatted happily to Alex. We love this hotel. It has many happy memories for us, but sadly this time has made us decide we won’t be back.
