This was the fourth time we stayed at this hotel and the experience is always very good. The staff is friendly, big, bright rooms and amazing breakfast.

I give 7 because they give me free upgrade (as expected because i am accor platinum member) and small cute doll in my room. Honestly for sofitel, this hotel need to improve more. Nobody can speak english so that it's very hard for me to communicate.

The hotel and the service was nice. But, I was there while the swimming pool was closed. I was really unhappy because of the quality of the Breakfast. As a french person, I may say the quality of the breakfast was really very low (I prefer not to talk about the bakery)....... This is certainly not the quality expected when I go to a SOFITEL.................................

Not worth the money

Property in general nice, but incapable staff and low level of service. Examples: check-in takes ages, extremely rude portier, not managing the chaotic parking lot, breakfast buffet overrun (at least 40% of the dishes not available, including specialities like french bread), no food choice at Happy Hour (e.g. no vegetarian choice), bar staff without attention to customers, promised Lanvin bathroom amenities not available. All in all very disappointing, considering the hefty price tag.

Nice stay in Xining.

Dear Mr. L., Thank you for finding the time to let us know about your stay in Sofitel Xining. I am pleased to see that you had a nice stay in Xining and that you appreciate the convenience of the shuttle bus to the airport. Could I ask you to send me some more information why you only rated our hygiene at 80%? We take this very serious, especially in Covid 19 times, and I want to be able to make sure we can always achieve 100% in this area. Maybe you can also share what is not convenient with the booking process on the App and the usage of points. I can share this with our head office and customer care centre to see how to improve. The staff at the hotel do everything to help on our plans to go see Qinghai Lake. However, something that hotel could improve is on enforcing the non-smoking rules in the rooms. My room was very nice and spacious but it had this smell to smoke that did not go away during my stay. The room was nonsmoking but it still had smoke smell.

Overall it was a nice stay. the suite room was very good and parking was easy. A little bit disappointed of the welcome drink was only for one person but I really needed two at that time, I was quite embarrassed. The coffee in the breakfast was terrible. There was no coffee machine to use, and the service team was too busy to take care of additional orders.

My stay collided with a film festival, which unfortunately left things to be desired further. Endless check in lines, slowed service due to the crowds, etc. Truth be told, I was not very happy with my initial impression on things with a significant amount of time to check in with no priority lines for members, lounges closed, etc. However, it redeemed itself quickly. I want to shout out to Wendy Wang, a customer service agent who worked tirelessly to retrieve the lost binoculars my dad left in the room and have it sent to our next destination.

I booked and paid for CLUB MILLÉSIME ACCESS, and was told on arrival that the Club was closed. There was no apparent reason, apart from maybe fewer guests, but to advertise and accept bookings for something that was not available is very poor. Checkin was time consuming - despite doing 'online checkin' with an email to say "your key will be ready for you when you arrive", it was not... The room on Club floor was comfortable, apart from a large wet patch of carpet. The air conditioning is a 'central' system, so the room control has no effect. Thus the temperature remained on 24 degrees, with no ability to cool the room. Three nights of poor sleep resulted, as I prefer a cooler room. On checkin I was told my car would be registered in the hotel system, so I could drive out - it was not. This meant having to return to the reception desk to obtain a paper voucher. The buffet breakfast was adequate, however the staff have no customer service ability. I had three breakfasts, and not once did anyone come to ask if I would like a coffee, or to clear away used plates. Getting a spoon to eat cereal proved impossible - chopsticks and cereal just doesn't work.... Same problem in the lobby bar - no service. Every drink I ordered, I had to go to the counter and ask. The staff were disinterested, and busy playing with their mobile phones. Despite the Accor "Allsafe" label, most staff were not using face masks. There was no temperature check entering the hotel, no social distancing. Restaurant was crowded with no spacing between tables. In conclusion, a very average stay at a very average Chinese hotel - not worthy of the Sofitel brand.

Winter season prices make this property excellent value. Corner suite specious and comfortable only let down by drink facilities - Pod coffee machine rather old and only coffee-mate powder. Great nights sleep!

This hotel exceeded my expectation! Room is comfortable and came with portable oxygen canisters and hongjingtian. We felt rested to continue our journey to Tibet. We had an upgrade to a room on club floor BUT the club lounge was under renovation so we didnt get a chance to experience it. A pity though as it doesnt felt like an upgrade to us.

Check in and out process was very smooth, my taxi I had booked the previous evening was there and waiting for me the next morning (taxis are pretty hard to get in Xining during the mornings and evening). The room was well presented and clean. The Saturday Buffet was very good.
