The hotel overall was quite good, but the room and the grounds are a bit tired looking

We visited Kakadu for two days as part of our Top End holiday. The hotel was well located, but wasn't in the shape that a 4 star property should be. It was a little dirty and tired.

Friendly staff and well located but hotel needs some maintenance

My husband and I stayed here for one night with my father. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and beds comfortable. However, our only feedback is that the bathrooms were in need of some renovating and the courtyard/garden and outdoor seating were not well maintained and not really suitable for use (this could have been because of the time of year we were visiting- plants not looked after and lots of bird poop everywhere). Otherwise we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed our dinner and dining experience at the hotel's restaurant.

My two friends and I stayed so we were near walks for Kakadu and the kitch idea of being in a crocodile! The staff were super friendly. Fantastic location to be close to many hikes. The rooms need a little TLC and frustrating sharing beds as we were a group of 3. The breakfast is worth it but buffet dinner was overpriced.

Rather dated in need of TLC

Good Morning, whilst a nice concept at the time resort needs renovations or a touch of TLC. Rooms mouldy and fixtures damaged. Beds also dated and uncomfortable. On the positive side it would not take much to bring up to shape.

Good location but needs to be updated

Stayed one night, food was amazing. Accomodation needs an overhaul as it’s very dated. Our outside area was disgusting - empty bottles of alcohol, cigarette butts everywhere, empty takeaway food containers.

Bien placé, accueil chaleureux mais propreté aléatoire

As shared w/ flight centre, the travel agency we booked our trip to Kakadu with: "...Not so much in Jabiru @ the Mercure hotel where we found everything worn out and worse, beyond dirty everywhere (dining room, hallways, rooms except for the bedding); food and personnel were great though, and the crocodile-shape architecture was interesting indeed."

The stay was fine, but prices are inflated due to location

We had a comfortable stay, but it wasn't amazing. You are paying a higher price for the remoteness and being able to have a quality bed and roof over your head as opposed to being rural and outside. The hotel room seems a bit run down and the main walking areas could be tidier. The pool seemed dirty green color. The dinning area is spacious and open. The al la carte menu is reasonably the priced, but I don't think the buffet is worth it.

The rooms were reasonably appointed, but in need of a thorough clean, esp bathroom. There were a considerable amount of flies around the buffet at dinner, which was off putting. Beds comfortable.

The hotel you manage provided a well organised service, all the staff were friendly and proficient. The only thing I noticed was that the hotel was not cleaned prior to the Easter week-end when it was known you were going to have a full house for the week-end, this I could only put down to poor planning or poor management from the top. All in all we had a great week-end and you wait staff were exceptional.

A bit disappointing

I was expecting a pretty flash resort but it was very tired. Doors to units battered, inside dated & tired, especially bathroom. Pool full of bugs. Cockatoo poo & feathers everywhere. Paid for continental breakfast then was told toaster was broken so expensive cereal & coffee. Staff very friendly.

Iconic place located in an iconic national park - where else would you stay? Having said this, where else could you stay??? While the staff and service were great, this place is in dire need of a spruce up- and we sincerely hope that this happens- the bathrooms are very tired, the rooms while generous in size and appropriately decorated for the area need constant airing, especially in the wet - they smell musty and there is evidence of mildew and mould on ceilings, again, this is understandable given the location - the pool area needs redevelopment to align with modern standards and expectations of a resort pool, it should be 25 metres with kids play and splash areas, no spa, no gym - given the cost of travel in Australia and even into Kakadu, which costs 25 dollars pp to even visit for a day, and even accounting for ‘outback prices’ and the remote location, you are only going to attract AAT pensioner tourists and one night only guests - the area has enormous potential to attract visitors with families who are looking for a great place to stay for a week, there is plenty to do in Kakadu.

It is my 4th stay at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. The reception staff and restaurant staff are great. This time the rooms were not that clean as I happened to discover food crumbs and dust in places. Upon inquiring I found out that the hotel is under staff for the housekeeping sector. I have addressed on a few occasions that the bathroom & toilet need a face lift. I really hope the management will look into this as this overshadows the beauty of the hotel. I always enjoy the food at the restaurant. Great price. Assured to receive quality food.

Hotel is well serviced for local guided tours of Kakadu. The facility overall is dated and is in need of refurbishment, however the service is good and the restaurant food was of good quality.
