« Unauthorised Card Payment »

I arrived at the hotel. Attempted to pay but the girl behind reception said I had already made a payment. I thought nothing of it at presumed payment may have come out of my stores account on my ALL membership account. Few hours after check out I got a call from the hotel but I was in a meeting at the time, I got another call the following day also. I was travelling at that time so didn't pick up. But did try calling back on both occasions. I then get a notification on my business mobile banking app saying they have charges that account. This account is not associated with my ALL account and I remember giving it to them several months ago, and at the time was told they would delete it after check out. Clearly they didn't delete those details as I was charged using those details. Had they of messaged me or sent me an email, or left a vaivemail or called more than once in a day I would have know something was up. If they emailed or left a voicemail or text then I would have known and called them straight away to make payment. I have been using that hotel for years, and am a regular. I stay there atleast 10 times a year maybe even 20. I am also a platinum member, so dissapointed they did this. I did email them but maybe the staff member who is tk blame deleted my email before her manager saw it? - as I have not received a response yet.

Generally very good, particularly the friendly and helpful staff. The only aspect that was rather disappointing was the quality of the breakfast: smoothies set solid, cold hard-boiled eggs undercooked, poor quality of coffee. However the staff on duty at breakfast time were very helpful and tried to do what they could to remedy the situation (for example, by making a fresh batch of smoothies straight away).

« very poor »

The fire alarm went off on Friday Morning at 3.30 am twice , their was no reassurance of the all clear and no apology until I mentioned it . No hot water , dreadful noise all night due to generator . was moved to another room. Bathroom windows do not fit so Gayle blowing in , no heating in the bathroom , very cold . thermostat in the room didn't work so heating on all night . curtains do not fit they are not wide enough to block out the light and they came off the hooks in an effort to close them , phoned what's app but just got an ansa phone . no yoghurt at breakfast. no replenishment of hot chocolate in the machines for 2 days, ran out of two basic white wines . had to ask for GF bread on three mornings as no one around to ask , gossiping at reception. if you are providing GF bread you need a separate toaster as a contamination risk. key card didn't work and had to be changed in less than 24 hours the door is faulty. The receptionist was very efficient and moved the room for me , the explanation given for the water being cold was that the fire alarm would upset the system !!! I don't need my intelligence insulted by that excuse . it clearly didn't effect the other room . youths from outside unaccompanied by parents were allowed to use the toilets obviously had to be let in by key card , this is surely a breech of health and safety . I was in too minds to book your hotel as the location isn't very desirable but took a chance and wish I hadn't , it was inadequate.

« Useful Location »

The staff are always friendly and professional. The rooms are variable but pleasant if you get one of the apparently newer ones. The décor is...…. odd. Very odd. But that's amusing, not unpleasant. The car park is frankly ridiculously tight but, I like the challenge. Overall, I like the unfussy plain simple accommodation, I like the location, I like the price. I stay there relatively often and haven't felt inclined to find an alternative.

Room satisfactory. No food available at times advertised -restaurant closed early in the evening. Breakfast excellent. Woild have likes a pole to pull blond on velux roof window.

« Wrong way to manage disruption »

During the stay there was no- water. That's ok and understandable. However when I decided to move to another hotel of my choice and wanted my money back, I was denied. The reception lady told me that refunding money was not in policy and I should move to a hotel of Ibis's choice. When I came down to the reception I found that the same lady was discussing the options with another guest and offering him to get a refund or move to another hotel. Then I confronted her and asked why I was refused refund and how the hotel policy not applicable for other guests. Then she refunded my balance. This type of behaviour is unacceptable. Please coach your staffs to treat all the guests with equal respect. Racial or any other forms of discriminations are not expected any reputed brands, especially with those in the hospitality industry.

A great hotel, great check in experience, comfortable room with all you need. Breakfast was somewhat challenging as it was very busy and “stuff” kept running out? Coffee cups, food etc ... I think it could have been better managed bearing in mind that the hotel must have known how many people were staying at the venue

« It was the first time that I had such a bad experience in this hotel »

The experience at the hotel was really bad this time, even the person responsible for the checking told me that I should expect a call from the Hotel Manager to discuss a refund. - No water available in the room, neither access to water for even brush teeth or wash my hands. - Person in the bar with headsets on. Took me few minutes to get his attention to get a bottle of water - The room keep the heater on all night, quite high. The Thermostat or control on the wall didn't work at all. To be honest, really bad experience.

The check-in and room were OK. However, when the water was cut off in the morning (no fault of the hotel) the staff made no effort to warn the guests or even provide bottles of drinking water.
