A host of errors but we still enjoyed our holiday

On arrival, we were told that there was only one room between our two families. After little apology & much discussion, our second room ‘appeared’ & my elderly in-laws moved into a smaller room than booked. This room had broken air conditioning, tough with temperatures in mid-30s so thankfully they moved after a couple of nights when the floors flooded from the dodgy air-con unit. They were subsequently charged full price for their stay. Our room should have been booked for my husband and me and our 2.5 year old, but there was no bed for her, nor were there towels or breakfast. Luckily we were given extra hand towels & breakfast on request and she fitted into a travel cot that the hotel provided in flat pack form after we requested it & we managed to push into the tiny luggage room without being able to shut the door. Not sure how the room could have housed 3 people - no sofa bed as we had expected. Our bed was fine - bit saggy in the middle. Breakfast was provided in bags on collection or to the door. Content and quality varied but mainly consisted of mini pastries & tasty rolls - we were told on different days that they’d run out of fruit purée, jam, juice etc. We were given coffee a few times despite requesting other drinks, and given half-baked patisseries one day. Initially, our air-con was brilliant but it started breaking down after 4 nights, leaking puddles onto the floor. After the drop in temperature outside & to avoid even more hassle we didn’t report this. Nice to have a kitchen although only 2 of everything (cutlery & crockery) & it was supposed to be a room for 3. We expected some cleaning (limited due to covid) eg removal of rubbish but got none all week. Cosy lighting, good tv. Shower sprayed all over the floor out into the hallway but was nice & hot! Handy laundry room. Key cards seemed to work only sporadically, needed to try 6 or 7 times or get reprogrammed. Restaurant Leon next door was great - reasonable prices, quality food & friendly staff (seemed to be the same staff as the hotel). La Casanova pizza/pasta place only 300m away also very pleasant with nice play park for children. St Genis-Pouilly was a mile walk mainly uphill past lots of roadworks. Not a particularly exciting place but had a few restaurants, bakery etc, 2 small play parks. Hard to recommend the hotel sadly due to the masses of issues encountered!

The staff were very courteous and helpful. I requested a quiet room on the top floor and had a very restful week which was much needed prior to a long journey by car. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have a separate dressing room.

I did not receive the rooms I'd booked, yet paid for them.

We were disappointed and shocked to find that the rooms we booked months in advance and were confirmed again by email 2 days before our arrival were not available. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and specifically ordered these rooms , appt for 4+ studio, so that we can split up such that each child will sleep with an adult and no child will be left alone in a foreign country in a hotel room. Upon arrival the receptionist said that the appt is not available (despite having been confirmed) and she will give us 3 studios for 2, at different floors. We explained that this is of no use to us as we can’t split 2 adults into 3 rooms, and asked for an extra bed in one of the studios. The receptionist said that this is not possible and argued that we get 3 good rooms. We said that we can’t use the third room and will only use 2 studios and need an extra bed in one of them for a child. The receptionist insisted to give us 3 studios and made us pay the whole fee through booking as though we had received the appt for 4 plus studio, while in fact we received 2 studios. Around 21:30, After we made a scandal, insisting that a child can’t sleep alone in a hotel the receptionist made some calls and agreed to bring a folding small bed. She pushed it into the room (unmade) and left. This long unpleasant saga which had taken very long time was a bitter way to finish our vacation. The morning receptionist promised we would be credited for the difference in rates between the rooms we booked and the rooms we;d received in practice (about 50 Euros), but we received a notification a day after that we will not receive this refund and can have a discount on future stay. This is very disappointing. We realize that problems can occur, but the hotel should take responsibility for it.

dear Guest, thank you for your stay in our hotel, Our team and i want to apologize to you, we had a big last minute heating problem in our apartments and seeing that you are accompanied by children, we could not give you this room, we preferred you give 3 rooms instead of two with enough room for all your family and adding breakfast for free, I still want to apologize and we will make up for it if you want to give us a second chance during a possible future stay. Please understand that we didn’t want to disturb you on purpose, our intention was to find the better solution and satisfy you with the best way, we are in the process of solving this heating problem, but we are a hotel with 81 rooms and we are trying to resolve any problem as quickly as possible. Ok for short periods. The rooms are cleaned weekly but it's not a deep cleaning. The heating was broken and we were given electric heaters. They worked well because it was not too cold yet. Reception staff was friendly. Kitchen is very small, fine for warning up food but not for any real cooking

The thing that impressed us the most was the staff. They were always friendly and courteous. The apartment far exceeded what we expected. Overall, we had a comfortable stay. We were fortunate that our colleague recommended the hotel and we would certainly recommend it to others. I can think of nothing that needs improvement.

It was good. It would be a little better if it were clearer about room cleaning for prolonged stays. I was staying there for 10 days, and apparently that included 1 (or 2 maybe?) room cleanings but I was not sure, so I just got it cleaned once.

Had a superior double apt. 1 floor 119. Staff courteus. Asked for higher floor in mail but felt ignored. Obviously a smokers room. Turned on air con and suddenly felt like 3 heavy smokers had entered the room with sigarettes. To hot room with a small fan inside to compensite the situation. Have been using Accor hotels in the last which i tried to use to cool down. I have been using Accor for the last 3 years but considering to look in another direction. I could have talked with reception but frankly thougt it would make no difference. "Courtius but I dont care" Stayed in Mercury Annecy Sud earlier in the month. Similar feeling, stale air in rooms and feeling of mould. This experience was kind of the last drop that filled the Accor glass. Question of the day. Are chain hotels overrated and more value in private run hotels. All the best, Johannes D.

Chose the location for proximity to CERN, particularly ALICE, for it's open days 14-15 September, 2019. So far so good, bus stop 4 minutes walk. But the Adagio was underwhelming otherwise.

Worst Accor hotel ever!!

I have stayed in several Accor hotels in different countries and definitely this one has been the worst of all of them. Dirty, worn out, outdated, under maintained, etc. Personnel were great and attentive but with not many options to resolve what was needed.

If you have a car this is an ideal stopping off place .Friendly staff and great value for money. You are a short drive away from Geneva downtown but also the local area of the hotel is beautiful . I can recommend the local restaurants whether you want mussels pizza or up market french cuisine at the Coq rouge

This is my 14th year at this hotel for the Vitafoods Salon and it is great service and value. The breakfast is great value for money with an excellent selection of cold and hot buffet. Fresh squeezed orange juice really good. The Leon restaurant is very convenient with friendly service or if you want to venture out you should try the Coq Rouge locally which is exceptional value - the Kidneys are a must!

We have stayed in this hotel during its transition from the excellent Holiidy Inn to its very good rank as the ApartHotel Adagio. During our recent stay, we were disappointed with the shuttle service whose hours are limited and which was unable to pick us up at the Geneva Airport. However, the front desk called us via cellphone and paid for a taxi, a kind gesture which undoubtedly cost them more than a shuttle. For reasons which were unexplained, we were unable to operate the heating system and were given an electric heater which was terribly noisy. The personnel is courteous and the breakfastis very good and the beds are quite comfortable. However, without a reliable shuttle service to the airport, staying at this location would not be convenient for many guests.

Unprofessional/Evasion of responsibility

I'm also an office worker, so I seldom leave "Unsatisfaction Review", even though I was serisouly unsatisfied. But, I think I have to do that this time, because I was really upset. I stayed this hotel for INDEX 2017 at Palexpo, just like I did last time. The 2nd day (the 5th April) I made a reservation a return shuttle departing Palexpo 17:50 to Hotel, when I went out in the morning. I was waiting for the Shuttle from 17:40, but it didn't come till 18:40!!!!!!!!! While I was awaiting, I called the hotel reception 5 times, but he just simply repeated "He's on the way, He's coming, He's coming...." I made a complaint but he repeatedly said "I can't do anything, Nothing I can do, it's our responsibility, They're not a part of our hotel.." which sounds very unprofessional. I made a reservation the shuttle, believing the hotel. Anyhow, Total 3 people including me had to await 1 hour, but neither the taxi driver nor the reception guy said even just "sorry for delaying". This is totally unacceptable and not like Accorhotels' things. I was seriously disappointed.
