Majestic and well appointed hotel, strategic position in the centre of Amsterdam. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, the bed in the room was so soft and feathered that it sank and therefore did not allow a pleasant rest ... It gave me back pain. Such an uncomfortable bed frustrates everything else. Tasteless breakfast, not adequate for a 5 star. A real shame...

A perfect room with birthday cake. Incredibly thoughtful. Staff very friendly and helpful. I also really enjoyed the spa and massage from Tina. My husband enjoyed the massage so much, he wants to come back soon.

This hotel embodies the level of quality of a five star hotel! From the moment we showed up till the time we left, we were treated fabulously! The staff are the best! Smiles and conversation no matter what time of day or how many times you walk by. Our bags were delivered and we were escorted to our room. The breakfast was amazing every morning. We had an issue with our dinner but the staff were eager to rectify the problem. We were so impressed with how we were treated there. Do not pass up an opportunity to stay here. You will not be disappointed.

The location was terrific, right in the center of the city. The building was just that - grand! The rooms were great - very comfortable pillows, high quality comforter and towels. Staff were also exceptionally friendly and service-oriented, with great English skills, from reception, to housekeeping to breakfast servers. The maitre'd was fantastically friendly and bubbly and remembered who was who. They seemed short of staff for breakfast but that didn't prevent them from providing exceptional attention. The breakfast was exceptional - they had a menu from where every guest could order custom items and you could see the chefs present the food in artistic ways. In addition, they had all the usual food selection - cold cuts, breads, spreads, veggies, fruits, etc. Coffee was delivered in special silver pots; they brought you juices and water as well. Reception staff were equally very helpful and accommodating. I will book here again the next time!

As a hotelier myself, I am probably more picky than the average guest and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We stayed in a Superior room which had a lovely canal view, perfectly appointed with full-size Balmain bath products, fluffy robes, and comfortable beds with crisp white linens. The location is absolutely where you want to be especially as a first-time visitor. Emmy Stoel who is the general manager at this hotel deserves high praise for leading a team who delivers impeccable, professional, and friendly service, from the doormen to the front desk to the restaurant servers. Thanks to all of you for making our stay perfect in every way.
