- Curtain is broken in the room. -The bill didn't be prepared in advance when we check out. I did request that to prepare Bill and Invoice together in advance when I check in because I need to leave in early morning. - The front desk didn't say sorry or excuse for their problem above when I check out, but looks quite impatient. - In the bottole of body cream, the using description part is worng. It is the using description for Body shampoo . - Chopsticks are not on the table for breakfast, even though most of the guest are Chinese !! When we give suggestion to waiter, they say , it is request from top management. Honestly, it is so stupid top management's request. How many foreigner guest will you have in such special periord ???? Please pay more attention on Chinese request.

Sofitel Hongqiao is a very French hotel. From the façade of the building to the decorations of the hotel, a strong French taste overwhelms every minute of my experience – exactly the same as what you may feel in Paris. These atmospheric elements perfectly personify the philosophy of Sofitel – live in the French way. As an AccorPlus Platinum member, I was upgraded to the Executive Floor. The first impression of the room? It was SO spacious! The signature “MyBed” series is as comfortable as usual, no wonder why it is selected to be part of the “La Première” First Class product by Air France. On the table, I received a generous welcome amenity which includes a plate of fresh fruit, chocolates, and pastries. All of them are in good taste and delicate presentation - it is a very sweet “welcome”. The same sweet thing is the hotel’s services. The Guest Service Manager Kivller is always that helpful during our entire stay and we bear appreciation for his patience as we consume a lot of his time when checking in. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the hotel relocates the lounge services to the lobby bar, which is not bad at all. The lounge and bar team (Lucy, Penny, Nicole, Sherry and Lori, please forgive me if I miss any names) took care of us thoughtfully. The buffet hall manager Gerry? (or Jerry?) gave us an impressive introduction to the hotel, and the breakfast buffet is amazing – especially in terms of the extraordinarily wide range of choices and the gorgeous and grandeur dining environment. To our surprise, the breakfast even offers the famous Chinese dish - Sichuan-flavored duck blood in spicy sauce (毛血旺), and the Cantonese Dim Sum is almost as authentic as what you may taste when enjoying Yum Cha (飲茶) in an ordinary Hong Kong tea house! Adding local delicacies to an international buffet breakfast is a brilliant idea and is something that deserved to be encouraged and applauded. The genuine culinary experience that an international traveler encounters through these fascinating local foods itself is a journey of discovery that could be the keepsake in their lifelong memory, while to those Chinese foreigners like me, they are the nice touch to awake the gustatory memory after decades of departure from the hometown. The hotel successfully weaves the great food, facilities, and services into a satisfying stay that we experienced this time. We are looking forward to revisiting the hotel again to try their fantastic dinner buffet in the near future.

Nice architecture modelled in the old European style. The room was spacious and comfortable. Had to pay for toiletries though which was not that nice.

1. the rooms are very smelly. even if i asked to change one, the new one is still smelly! air in the room is not cleaned. 2. i lost a facial cleanser in the room, and when i called the hotel to look for it, firstly there was no response in 24 hours. then i called again and was told the room has new guest and staff could not go in and check.

The room is very nice with big space and decoration. However, the service quality especially in Chinese restaurant is quite disappointed, which needs to be paid attention with adequate training. The food variety of breakfast is not enough, although the service staff looks passionate and professional.

I love the Lavin toiletry products, location is really awkward, it''s not reachable by walking and really embarrassing to get a taxi, cause taxi driver complaints it was too close to the hongqiao transportation hub, they waited long to get into hub, but not making much if going to this hotel. Wish they have pick up or shuttle.

The facilities at the hotel were great, the restaurants served excellent food and the rooms were very well appointed. Wished I could stay longer.

The lovely staff in Sofitel truly makes me feel like home whenever I stayed in this hotel. Ivy, Nicole, Jenny, Louis, Kelly and Joe are the warmest staff I ever met, they are always putting in their best effort to make my each stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing much negative to feedback, except this trip I was upset with one chef's attitude at the noodles section in the cafe during one Saturday breakfast morning. Nevertheless, it was still a pleasant stay overall. Happy CNY to all staff in Sofitel Shanghai HongQiao. Looking forward to see you guy again soon!

I spent several nights at Shanghai but after choosing several hotels from the chain I finally found the perfect match for me which is not very far from Hongqiao and also in the morning quite nicely convenient to the work place. I really appreciate also the attitude of Mr. Joe. He is really part of the hotel and making the hotel experience very personalised.
