In these troubled times, our stay felt quite surreal. No concierge, doors locked, no drinks in the bar. But the warmth and welcome we received was so welcoming and lovely. I forgot my phone charger. It seems that as soon as I hung up, there it was at my door. Same with drinks etc. the constant cleaning of the lift area etc put as at ease.

Overall my stay was good. The aircon wasn't working in my room & the staff kindly moved my to a new room with an upgrade (to room 1813). However, the aircon extraction vent in my new room was vibrating & very noisy. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to move again or appear to be complaining & difficult.

I enjoyed my three night stay at my hotel of choice in Melbourne and was happy to return. The staff were wonderful and all efforts were made to make it a comfortable and safe stay. It was a little cold in the common areas and I did miss a few amenities in my room that I usually have during my stay. Breakfast choices and service were wonderful and delicious. Thanks to all. Scary intruders in the middle of the night while I stayed with my mum and little sister.

I booked a room for my little sister and mum's birthday. We planned on having a girls' night, watching movies, painting our nails, and eating yummy food. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff members were very helpful given the current situation. The bar was closed and the usual discounts/deals didn't apply for drinks as advertised, but I understand that this perhaps couldn't be helped with the pandemic. Our trouble started when the Chromecast wouldn't work, upsetting our plans to watch a movie we had pre-downloaded. We tried to call reception for help a few times but found that our phone was broken and we couldn't hear anything on the other side of the line. Eventually, the reception called my mobile, and the lady was very helpful. She upgraded our internet to high speed for free and we were able to get the movie to work. Aside from these little hiccups, we had a mainly great night until it was time to go to sleep. I couldn't sleep at all, because I kept hearing someone in the room next to us opening the door, knocking, and walking around. It got to about 2 AM, and I began to hear knocks on our bedroom door. My mum and sister were still asleep, so I didn't get up and hoped they would leave. However, the knocking continued to get louder until the people on the other side were banging quite aggressively and yelling to open up. It woke the others up, my sister was terrified and began crying and mum tried to call reception using our phone. Of course, it still was broken so we couldn't get through. In my half-asleep state, I got up and opened the door very slightly, to tell the two men there to leave us alone. It turned out that they were just very drunk and had been knocking on the wrong door, so they left without an issue. However, the event left us all so shaken that my sister didn't stop crying for a long time, and I hardly slept at all the rest of the night. When we told the receptionist what had happened, he gave us our breakfast for free. This was a nice gesture, and I understand that there wasn't much else he could've done to help the situation. However, our girls' night that was supposed to be a fun break from everything that was going on instead became quite a terrifying experience. I did not feel safe during our stay, and although the staff handled the situation well I don't think I would fel safe enough to stay here again.

It was a nice stay at the Ibis Melbourne Central & was satisfied with the amenities, just a few notes: 1. Rang reception three times but there was no answer 2. There was no room service menu. I could not find it as well in the room tablet provided. These could be improved, but otherwise I would come back to this hotel again when I visit Melbourne.

A 2 night break in the CBD with my son. Check in and check out were a breeze. All the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was as described and just like the photos. Beds were comfortable and the open bathroom interesting (you need to be very comfortable with the people you’re staying with). Breakfast was different, a-la-carte instead of buffet but still plenty of food and very yummy. We were able to get a late check out which was much appreciated since our bus didn’t leave until 3pm. Thank you for the relaxing and comfortable stay.
