the heating didnt work in the room and was very cold. only solution offered was another duvet cover. water stains on ceiling and badly cracked tiles on bathroom floor ,sharp edges. only stayed one night and manager offered 50% refund.

We booked two rooms for one overnight stay as we were in Manchester to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. We felt the price was very reasonable for bed and breakfast in the centre of Manchester. The hotel reception was bright and clean. The staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Our rooms were clean (but initially cold, although they did warm up once we put the heating on). The rooms weren't huge but perfectly adequate and had plenty of hangers, ironing board and iron and hair dryer - everything you could need. The bar staff were chatty and efficient. The buffet breakfast the following morning was, I felt, excellent when we weren't expecting more than cereal and a croissant we were spoilt for choice with bacon, beans, tomatoes, boiled eggs, toast, croissants, cakes, fruit, yoghurts and limitless tea or coffee. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Thank you.

The location is great, the staff were nice, and the room was clean enough, but the hotel is a bit of a shambles. Had to move room because the heating wasnt working, the walls were paper thin and you could hear people talking and the trams outside very easily. The keycard for the lift barely worked as many other people have said too. But we only stayed one night so it was bearable, wouldnt recommend for any longer than that.

Overall happy with stay, for £30-£40 a night it's ok and value anymore than that and I would be looking elsewhere, room was bit shabby with paint peeling off wall but amenities in room were spot on.

We decided T. choose this location as it was in the city centre however there were many issues with the room. We first came in and the room was extremely cold T. find out the windows were open so we had T. close it over and then proceeded T. turn on the heating. The heating made a significant amount of noise so I called reception T. ask about it for them T. say "No one has reported any issues so there shouldn't be any issues" and brushed me off. She did not even offer for someone T. check if it out for us so I thought maybe the facilities are old and I will give it another bit of time T. see if it calms down. Fast forward 10minutes later, we noticed the heating was flashing red which meant there were issues and the sign on the wall mentioned T. contact reception which I did and the lady at the reception said we will send a heating up within 15/20minutes. After 30minutes we did not have anyone show up so I went down T. the reception in person and the lady said someone should be up, and told me T. continue waiting. So I went up knowing maybe it is busy for a weekend, and maybe staff are just held up. Waited another 30minutes and went downstairs T. find a different person at the reception T. let me know that apparently they do not have any available heaters and how someone tried contacting us even though we were inside the room the full time and he tried T. say "are you sure you weren't away during that period of time". With that comment, it was extremely unprofessional T. say that T. your guests and he then claimed that "he only just started his shift, he doesn't know anything and how I shouldn't put the blame on him". This level of communication was highly unacceptable and I did not feel welcomed at all. They did not offer an alternative suggestion until I asked if it was possible for us T. change rooms which should have been offered T. begin with. If I was T. visit the city again, I will not be revisiting as this level of service was not acceptable.

Good day, Followed our stay in ibis Styles Manchester Portland. I’d like to inform you that our bathroom, room number 231 was not clean. We have found traces of something on the wall. They were brown traces and looked very unhygienic. We also found hand marks on the walls. considering the COVID climate and hotel commitments, we would have expected these to be cleaned off. We informed the hotel reception staff who were not helpful. The staff was apologizing but did not offer to clean the issue or offer an alternative room. Unfortunately, far from standards previously set. Check in was quick and easy as always with friendly staff on the front desk. The bar staff came across like they did not want to be there. The noise in the rooms was constant throughout the night with several complaints made to the front desk it wasn't until 6am when the night manager approached the room in question. Disappointing after so many good stays at this property.

I found the hotel location to be brilliant, right by Picadilly Gardens. But the bed was not very comfortable - far too firm with a thin topper on. And we found the walls to be extremely thin! So thin I wasnt sure if they had just wallpapered cardboard and stood it up! Could hear every movement in next doors room and we assume they could hear ours. All in all it was not a great night and we checked out very early to go for a coffee and go home to catch up on sleep. I would not stay again and would not recommend the hotel unfortunately.

Staff were very friendly - only good thing to say about the hotel. It was absolutely filthy, there was blood on our sheets, dirt in the shower, stains on the walls, paint peeling, filthy carpet. Not only that, the doors & walls are paper thin, hear people slamming doors all night and being very, very loud - understandable for a weekend but this was a Monday night.

Since we arrived, the receptionist was not very attentive and supportive, as in other Ibis hotels. I think it would have been warmer if they smiled at our arrival. It was not that easy to find the parking area and it was harder to leave the place, since they didn't explain us how to use the code they gave us for a discount. The rooms were of a decent size, unfortunately the soap was over and there was no hair dryer. Of course they fix that later under my request.

Had to move from first room I was given as window did not close properly and room was noisy. As I working nightshift I needed a quiet room. The second room (637) was covered in damp around the window but I did not notice this until I was checking out, no one at reception to mention this too when I left or I would have raised it. The state of that room was unacceptable.

The check-in was easy, even though they were adamant even not to allow check-in even at 2.45 pm. The room was very small, even though it was expected. My stay was for three days and from the moment I've checking in I reported that the room heater was not functional and it took them two days to provide a portable heater, that also after multiple phone calls and communicating with the reception desk. At the time of check-in they have told that breakfast will start at 6.30 and on the first morning i called to verify this and they said breakfast will be ready at 6.30. When I went down no hot dishes were available and no staff were present till 7 AM and when they came they informed that chef will arrive at 7 only and hot food will be ready by 7.30 AM. I tried talking to the staff and none was there and a tall gentleman came from the storage/office area and without even a glimpse of a smile told me bluntly that if hot food is needed I should wait.. The restaurant staff were good cooperative, but the delay would have been informed to guests at the time of check-in. The room was small and the corridors were very narrow. Subsequently I moved to another Ibis and it was a great place, by all means. The only advantage of this hotel is the location, right in the heart of Manchester and staff shall be trained more to deal politely with staff.

I keep shoes in boxes bigger than the room and the bathroom was so small you had to squeeze around the door to sit down or use the washbasin. Positives, helpful staff and bar with food on site and a central location.
