« Only spoilt by music »

The stay at the hotel was fine except that music in the form of drums thudding could be heard throughout the night in room 231. I did report this to the night staff and was told there would be a room visit, but this never occurred. I do appreciate, though, that if the music was coming from outwith the hotel, there was little could have been done.

Room was nice - very spacious. Pillows were a bit rubbish and the bed was on wheels, so had a tendency to move away from the wall, but nothing major.

« Good location. »

Hotel is warm and comfortable. The only disappointment is tea at breakfast which was not very warm. Is there any possibility of small teapots instead of the thermos jug of tea. Paula excellent and prepared to speak with guests and she remembers you as well. Excellent service.

« Surprisingly disappointed. »

Good location, room clean and satisfactory although bathroom hand-basin drained very slowly, good view from room obscured somewhat by balcony wall, Breakfast selection very good and food well prepared. Staff friendly. It was hard to believe that the range of draught beers available was dreadful. Both draught ales were off, one lager tap was off, draught Guinness ran out while being poured. Apart from a single lager tap there were NO other draught beers, which for an establishment like The Caledonian in the heart of a major city was unbelievable. It appeared that the barman wasn't authorised to change the barrels. The situation hadn't been resolved by next morning and the reception staff knew nothing about it.

« Good stay »

My experience overall was good. The room was comfortable. I felt the staff could be more engaging and personalise their service a little more. Ie using your name etc...addressing you just to say hi being open and friendly if just for a sec when they see you. I was very disappointed in the room cleaning services. I stayed for 4 nights and the same cup I used on day 1 was still left with 4 day old coffee on day 4. I did think it was a mistake the first day so did deliberately leave it to see if it would be replaced or cleaned. Had to ask for water everyday and milk to be replaced. The cleaners did not once empty an over flowing bin in my bathroom for the entire duration of my 4 night stay. That was not good...Room was not cleaned properly however my bed was made everyday. In my job I spend my life travelling the world and staying in hotels so maybe my expectations are higher than the average guest. Attention to detail was missed at your hotel in my humble opinion. I would stay there again as room comfortable and location great but there is definitely room for improvement to making this hotel a little but special again.

« Well located but some frustrations »

generally happy with stay but the room was too warm overnight. The Mira Excel shower controls were too stiff but the shower was ok when on. Booked two rooms & tried to book breakfast online at the same time but could not. Further tried to do this on your Central reservation phone number but they couldn't do it either. Staff were very good.

Comfortable room. Good breakfast pleasant staff. As with many many modern hotels the bedroom lighting is far too subdued if you want to read paper rather than screens. Gorgot o report a light bulb not working in the area of the hospitality tray. Otherwise very happy

trip was to get some downtime in Aberdeen and the hotel selected accordingly. Hotel was perfect, plenty of character and location excellent. Arrived at 07.45 and was able to be checked in - what a bonus! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I would happily return.

« Nice hotel, room bit small »

The hotel is located near to city centre which is convenient. Overall experience was nice, just the room is bit small and the fan has not been cleaned for some time so its dusty.

« Very good couple of cleanliness issues »

This is my third time at the hotel and we had a lovely deluxe room at the front of the hotel, which was much better than previously, been at rear. The staff, food, bar etc., were excellent and always wishing to help. The only problem we had was with lipstick stain on a breakfast cup, which was quickly resolved and just left it at that, however, on emptying drawers to pack to come home, I was a bit disgusted to find a dirty pair of black underwear (not mine) which were very dusty left at the back of the drawer. This was not visible when putting clothes in drawer and only when I was checking I had everything. Not wishing to put any negative feedback on eg. Trip ADvisor etc., as our stays have always been really good, I mentioned it discretely to the Duty Manager who was very apologetic, not her fault, and she would have a word with Housekeeping Manager. I took a photo. I just asked for feedback on her findings. On leaving she kindly removed the £20 car parking as a gesture of goodwill for this mishap. This was not necessary, as I say it was a good stay apart for these couple of things. I think this would just come down to "attention to detail". Overall an enjoyable stay again.
