All went very smoothly. Rooms clean and nicely decorated. Last time I had a compact room and my only criticism would be that the standard room I had this time and paid a bit extra for actually felt smaller.

Stay was fine and hotel decor was nice. Staff were pleasant. But bed uncomfortable and hotel room was noisy at night.

There's no such thing as perfection. That which is perfect for one may well be diabolical for another. That said, I think you put on a good show. The downsides were few, and essentially amounted to the main bed being a little uncomfortable for one of our guests, who consequently had trouble sleeping, and the parking arrangements being a tad cramped for my Jaguar, which suffered a few dings and dents as I tried to manoeuvre it around. Seriously, if you want to park there, you're best off with a really small car. But those were niggles which didn't impact too much, especially given the generosity of the breakfast buffet. Okay, so maybe the full English breakfast wasn't especially full, but there were fruits, toast, cereals and all manner of other delectables which could have kept a serious gourmand like me munching away all day. Not only that, but there were also doggy-bags with which you could take an assortment of goodies away with you for lunch which, had the weather been less inclement, would have been perfect for a picnic. The room itself, the family suite, was gorgeous, with its green walls, plenty of space and the high ceilings were so clean and looked to me like a perfectly-iced cake. Yummy! Most of all, the hotel in general didn't look like the sort of bland arrangement you get in most hotels, where you just want to get out of there. Neither were they as keen as those hotels to want to get rid of you by having maids drop by with a stern warning and a loud vacuum at stupid o'clock - it was just relaxed and pleasant. rather than a boot-camp barracks.

Fantastic stay upgraded to premium executive suite on arrival and given free late check out as a gesture of good will to travel agents. Check in was great by a super friendly man and the whole stay was lovely! Perfect location to visit the City!

We have stayed at The Grand on several occasions over the last 3 years. It's Outstanding! The staff have been, on every single visit, polite! Engaging! Knowledgable about the City. Helpful, when we have requested small additions to our room: Pillows, Blankets, Tea, Coffee, Sugars (doesn't sound important, but on one occasion, last August 2019. I was taken very poorly during our trip. I have Type 1 Diabetes and have been recovering from several major surgeries for my cancer treatment(s) and was completely bed-bound and those simple things got me through a particularly bad day/night). The location is really special. You have St.Nicholas's Market right outside your front door and it's a sound to be heard on a Saturday morning, to hear the streets come to life. The Cosy Club is just around the corner and the staff and food there are just right for lunch or evening or just a cocktail or Coke. The parking is a blessing! Front of house is WorldClass, in my opinion! We booked a last-minute trip just this week and the young lady and the two gentlemen that greeted us over our 2-night stay were simply Divine! Smiling, Welcoming! I travel quite a bit with my Publishing company and front of the house can make or break a trip. You feel you know a hotel is Great when the staff make you feel like you are immediately welcome. 10 out of 10, from all three of us!

Well located in central Bristol. Hotel is great with well equipped rooms and really well implemented covid safety measures. The parking adds on over 25% of the room rate and is disproportionate to staying at other similar hotels in Bristol centre which are approx half the price to park. Stealth rate hike especially when the car park is so tight, littered with rubbish and stinks of urine!

Staff were friendly and room was clean. But the breakfast was unacceptable, bacon & sausage bap as the only option is ridiculous, with only unripe bananas & lukewarm yoghurt for non-meat eaters, and squishy cheap package-wrap croissants. Even basic bread/toast would be nicer? Another issue was the lack of basic information - nothing in the room or booking emails indicating check-in/out times, info on the room, tv, services etc. Frankly mysterious & unhelpful by design. But basically a fine hotel, staff were nice, good location in centre of town.

Staff all very friendly from check-in to check-out. Great location as very central. Room was clean and spacious. The only downside was that due to Covid restrictions the hotel was not offering a full breakfast service but a takeaway option instead which we chose not to have as not what we wanted and worked out quite expensive for what was being offered. Convenient carpark next to hotel but very tight on ramp turns for a large car.

Perfect location but standards slipping

We stayed at the Grand for one night in our couples weekend away this weekend. We have stayed at the Grand on numerous occasions as it’s a well located hotel, with cheap rooms and an upmarket feel. Usually we use the spa facilities which have now not been in use since long before covid. We were also less than impressed by the hygiene standards in our room as we found multiple hairs in the bathroom! During the pandemic this is not acceptable and hygiene standards should be better not worse!! We usually have a fantastic stay as we have on multiple previous visits; however this stay has made us consider booking elsewhere. The other thing to note it’s the car park; which may not be the hotels responsibility but it was filthy and it was obvious someone had urinated in the stairwell.
