Quirkily decorated and furnished, with interesting works of Art in the corridors. The staff were attentive and polite, juggling domestic and international tourists and business guests. Car park is a little tight for bigger cars/those with poor spatial awareness.

2 nights business stay. First impressions - £17 per night guest car parking charge and no carpark access to the hotel due to a broken, sealed off rear door, so a short lug around the building with luggage to find the main entrance. The reception, bar and restaurant was clean and modern, with welcoming friendly staff. Once past reception, it's clear that the hotel is desperately in need of some tlc and investment. Old stained carpets and battered decor throughout the corridors and my room was no better. My room was okay and had everything you need for a night's stay, but nothing special. Again, it's was in desperate need of a lick of paint. The restaurant service was painfully slow. On the first night, we were sympathetic to the fact that it was Bank Holiday Monday and the Queens funeral, so the hotel probably had skeleton staff. But things didn't improve on the second night. 30 minutes plus to order a meal (the restaurant didn't appear that busy) and then 45 minutes to an hour for food to arrive. It was the same story with drinks and desserts. The restaurant staff seemed stress and confused at times (table closest to ours ordered, waited almost an hour, for a waiter to then ask if they'd like to order some food). The quality of the food was okay. 2nd night, unexpected, brief false activation of the fire alarm at 3am, but I guess that's just on of those things. All in all, I probably wouldn't recommend this hotel or consider revisiting. I've had much nicer stays in low cost budget hotels.

Great location and good staff. The room was a bit tired a ripped and torn chair and cracks and damp patches to the ceiling 301 It bugged me after a while and the staff offered to move us but it was late and declined so we're offered a complimentary breakfast for tow for one morning Could have been for both mornings but dealt with swiftly Has the makings and bones for a great hotel but needs more attention to detail
