The area and views were lovely, but unfortunately the room was dirty and not covid safe. There were many areas that needed attention within our family room, but most of all it was apparent it had not been cleaned very well. We found bits of food around the sink, plates were dirty, old medication bottle in cupboard from previous guest and dirty wine glasses with stained red wine in the bottom where they had been put away unwashed. This is 100% unacceptable and my online reviews and pictures will be accurate for our stay.

Booked a one night stay as visiting family in area, plus my partners birthday - amazing venue, lovely grounds to walk around , we got lucky with a sunny weekend All room service that we ordered was amazing, pizza and burgers that you could tell were made to order Room was fantastic , upgraded to two bed apartment , I guess because they were quiet Breakfast was taken on the room patio in the sunshine - beautiful Will definitely stay again

Understanding limitations of covid we needed somewhere to stay to visit ill relative so booked self catering apartment. Location/setting lovely but rotting/broken window frames, damp ceilings, cobwebs, leaking sink in old building not as shown on website so disappointed.

beautiful building, needs a bit of maintenance, eg room 312 towel rail didn't work, air con didnt work, bed side light falling off, but apart from that everything was fantastic, really enjoyed my stay and will be returning soon, great staff and everyone doing the best they can during covid 19

The hotel and grounds are very beautiful but the cleaniness could have been better. The showerhead was very dirty . Toothpaste on the side by the sink etc

Stayed away on a work trip, very nice room with built in A/C and heating which is a lovely luxury. Lovely breakfast as well and the pizza dinner is insane defiantly a recommendation to anyone staying there. Only negative I found was my room was not cleaned once during my stay, I had no bin liners so my room got filled up with rubbish quickly, there was complimentary water in the room and my breakfast was never on time (7:00am) so I did spend a while waiting each morning for my breakfast. However these things are not to over shadow how lovely of a hotel Mercure is and would happily return in the future.

Room not clean , dead flys on window seal and mould round windows , dust above bed on head board , toilet not cleaned properly , no hand sanitizer were working all empty ,food not very good .

The spa was a excellent experience and the room was nice and clean but the food was disappointing, the menu was not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. The grounds were lovely and are good for walking.

We are pleased to be open now after lock down and the limited menu available is designed to provide popular food that pleases the majority. I am sorry this was not what you expected of the Oranges and Lemons Bar and Restaurant however i am pleased to read that you found the rest of your experience to be agreeable. We stayed at the Mercure Walton Hall Hotel for two nights, mid-week, on a bed, breakfast and dinner basis.The most striking thing about our visit was the courtesy, good humour and excellent service provided by all the staff that we encounted. Although, some compromises had been made due to the constraints imposed because of Covid-19, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and every effort was made to provide the best possible experience for guests.
