The short walking distance from Kortrijk Expo makes the ibis Styles Kortrijk Expo the ideal place to stay if you're attending an even at the expo. The amenities were perfect for a short business stay.

I wanted to charge me for another persons meal and drinks. I end up arguing with the receptionist for more than 20 minutes over charges which were not mine

The hotel looks neat and proper, with friendly staff and an excellent kitchen - and that goes for the breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend to ask for the Chef's special of the day. I've tried some and has a delicious dinner. The room are neat and well isolated. Being a frequent traveler I also appreciate the small bed lights - so much nicer than bed lights that blind you as found in many other hotels ;)

Shower issue and noise

First bad surprise when I have open the room, I am just in front of the air-conditioner central and we can hear the noise of it. I am use to sleep with the window open but here it is not possible at all because of it. But the main bad experience happen later when I want to take a shower it was completely blocked so the water go all over the bathroom. I had to clean it myself during the shower. It wasn't difficult but it is a unpleasant experience how could be avoid easily!

Sleepless nights...

The check-in with the young man at reception was awful, he made several mistakes without apologising once and then had the audacity to argue with me when I pointed out the error of his ways. I suggested some extra lessons in customer service might help him to which he turned his back to me as well as the 3 other customers waiting to check in behind me! His arrogance was exceptional and really unacceptable in the hospitality industry. The room though spacious and well-appointed left us sleep deprived every morning as the air conditioning in room 425 was so loud it was unbearable to sleep with on at night and the mattress left us both in pain every morning so much so that after 3 almost sleepless nights we decided to cut the trip short and check out after 3 nights instead of the 4 we had pre-paid for.
