Bad Service and Bad Communication at all

The overall service was very bad - reception say that they will inform something but then there is no communication at all. Along with that cleaning was not done in the room for 2 day and they used to come at 8PM for cleaning which is unacceptable. Also, If any question is asked there is no reply or something that is not clear.

Poor customer service - terrible long stay experience.

I had recently moved to Dubai and was put into the Novotel with my husband and son by my company. The hotel is not a hotel at all, more like a prison. 1. On the website, it clearly states that long stay guests are able to have their rooms cleaned daily as a COMPLEMENTARY service. The hotel staff refused and claimed that the policy is now twice a week as they are short staffed. I emailed the head of reservations and was visited by the manager, who despite the visit clearly did nothing. I was then informed by my company that they had got a call from Novotel claiming that if I continued to complain, the hotel will kick out my family as well as all the other staff booked by the hotel. This was absolutely disgusting. What’s worse is the other staff from my company had heard no such thing and were getting their rooms cleaned daily. We were asked to assign 2 days a week that we wanted our room cleaned in advance - which is difficult. Long staff guests should be treated even better than other staff as we are not only paying for a day or two but whole months at a time - which is certainly not cheap. 2. To get anything brought to your room was an absolute feat. Water, towels and toilet roll were like gold. For 3 people we often only got 2 bottles of water (twice a week!! when the room was cleaned) and 2 towels despite staying for 2 months. To get anything took more than 3 hours - so if you were desperate for a shower I would have to wait for 3 hours. 3. I can count the amount of times my room was vacuumed. I bought my own vacuum cleaner as we could not put up with the mess. 4. Long stay staff were given 7 complementary dry cleaned items a week, promised to be returned within 24 hours. It ALWAYS took 3 days. Once my husband was left with no clothes to wear to work and they had failed to return his laundry. 5. We were harassed for payment at the end of the first month, despite them dealing with my company and not me. The staff downstairs acted as though we owed them money. 6. My mum had come to visit and stayed in the same hotel, when we had gone to visit her in her room we were told we should leave as security don’t know that we have our own rooms (2 months into our stay) and we should apply for a visitors pass. Overall, the hotel really let down the company. I have stayed in Novotel in other countries and have never been made to feel the way I did at this hotel. It was not a free trip - I was paying for it from my salary every month. The staff are rude and sound lifeless on the food. The food at the hotel is overpriced and tasteless. The carpets throughout the hotel are disgusting and it does not look like a new hotel at all. I was so glad to see the back of this place and unfortunately the chain has lost a customer for life.

My assumption about Novotel hospitality was something good before staying in Novotel Bur Dubai. I appreciate that the front desk allowed me to check in early, this is the only good thing happened during my stay. Front desk is too busy they can not pick up our call when we need. We called them 3-4 times and it happened multiple time they don't respond. Carpet was too dirty. I was staying there for 30 days and every day I need to call house keeping to get towel changed or provide water bottles. why do I need to call house keeping daily for water and towel. I requested for room service to have my breakfast in my room, front desk convinced me to come down for breakfast then I skipped my breakfast. My room Telephone was faulty and was not replaced even after my complaint.

To be honest, our stay wasn’t as I expected. I had a really pleasant stay last summer, and I even said I should’ve extended for another night if I knew that I would be impressed on that stay. So when we planned to stay in Dubai as I was residing in another emirates and to bring along my visitor mum, I said I wouldn’t look for another hotel as I was really satisfied with our last stay. But surprisingly, I wasn’t really happy. Let’s start with the positive feedback, upon check in it was smooth and had a very warm welcome from the reception. Housekeeping team, they were polite and efficient with my requests. Facilities esp. the pool was cleaned and well maintained. Now, what I’m not happy with are these: Our room - yes it is clean but not as what we had before, smells very old like wasn’t sanitised, the shower floor not very clean and with stains, looks old and there was no draining wire to hang our wet clothes. I requested a room with a view but not given, based on availability? Well maybe. We stayed 2 nights so I was expecting that late checkout will be allowed but very disappointing that because the hotel is “fully booked” so there is no late checkout allowed as per the receptionist. Not even offered half an hour of extra time for checkout. We wanted to use the pool again but of course we only knew that we have to strictly checkout at 12noon and it was already quarter to 11 so we have to rush. Will have to think before booking again with Novotel Bur Dubai.

I waited for more than an hour for my check in because the reservation said the room wasn't clean yet. I think you should prepare the room as always before your guest arrive.

Room was fine, carpet not vacuumed, as I could see black hairs. Gym does not have paper tissue and disinfectant spray to clean the machines/ weights before or after usage. Breakfast was served by waiters in a line and for 90 aed it is not worth the price. Thank you!

Reached at hotel @ 17:30 hrs, room was not ready, room allocated at 18:30hrs Luggage from parking arrived after another 1 hours @ 19:30hrs. 1 hours check in time and 1 hour luggage arrival time from parking to room.

Fairly new hotel close to Wafi Mall at reasonable prices

The hotel was very good value for money and as I'm a gold member of the Accor loyalty programme, I got an upgrade to a suite after a very nice welcome from Diksha. It's close to the Wafi Mall, the Raffles hotel and the Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk. There's a small exercise room. Since the rooftop swimming pool is quite small, about 15 metres long, you can always buy a day pass to use the pools at the other hotels. You have a very nice view of them from the rooftop. It's very convenient for getting a PCR test close by for AED 150 at the Emirates Speciality Hospital 24 hours a day without an appointment but with a rather long queue. The hotel opened in November 2019 so the rooms are in good condition and my small suite was fine with a dining and living area and a large bedroom with a desk and two armchairs. There was a minibar in each room which was nice as I had done some shopping at Marks & Spencer at Festival Mall and had dinner in the room. I had an enjoyable stay there and would come back again.
