« The service and dining experience was great but the room was extremely disappointing. »

Our dining experience at the Grapes restaurants was great with amazing service. Our room was very disappointing, the "mountain view" room had a small window in the corner of the room, you really had to make an effort to get to that corner in order to see the outside. The room was dark and not welcoming, shouldn't be classified as a mountain view room.

« Lovely hotel, but only partly open during visit »

The hotel itself is beautiful, but many of the restaurants were closed during our visit, and the spa was mid-renovation yet still servicing clients, in a very disorderly and messy manner.

While we are pleased to see that you enjoyed your overall stay, I am so sorry you felt the hotel was only partially opened. Please be assured that I have shared your feedback with our senior management team. Certainly not as an excuse but rather as an explanation The Vermillion Room is open each day for breakfast from 7am to 11am. Perhaps you were dining for breakfast prior to 7am? Furthermore, I am so sorry that you found your spa experience to be disorderly due to our refurbishment. Unfortunately there is never a good time to arrange such projects however we do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back next year, and you will be able to enjoy the changes that were made. « The perfect weekend »

The stay was perfect - we received a complimentary room upgrade because my boyfriend was planning to propose! The room was absolutely beautiful, the staff at the entire hotel were friendly and accommodating. We had a light bite at Grapes and the chef (Mike I think his name was) was amazing. We sat at the bar and got to watch him work, while he explained the origin of the cheeses, meats, etc. The spa was beautiful, I only wish we had more time to enjoy the aromatherapy pools. Dinner at 1888 was lovely as was the service. I felt like I was on cloud nine the entire weekend -- thank you for being a part of my engagement!

« Noisy and not a five star experience »

Our first night we were placed 2 doors away from main elevators on second floor in #265. We had little sleep due to noise and significant air leak around main window. Management moved us to #301 for Saturday night. Unbeknownst there was a party underneath us until 1 am per front desk at 11:20 pm when we called. This disturbed our sleep and two dogs roomed in the area who also barked. We were leaving for flight at 6 am and the front desk offered initially to move us at 11:20 pm and comp a breakfast which service did not begin until 6:30 am. Upon our check out at front desk I inquired about coffee options (which again were not available) and staff at desk offered water which she could not locate and only had "Monster drink" samples. Versus the two prior nights at Chateau Lake Louise the Banff Springs was sub standard.

« Mostly like staying at budget hotel chain with few short glimpses of greatness. »

I would put this stay at the bottom of my hotel experiences. The grounds and hotel is beautiful but the rooms where horrid and the front desk staff was as courteous as checkers at Canadian Tire. Your valet staff and the staff in the roundel bar where outstanding.

We loved the event we attended, but were very disappointed with the room provided. The room was freezing cold (which is why I guess there were 4 space heaters in the closet,) super noisy (we didn’t sleep either night, and there was no privacy. Definitely disappointed.

« Incredible hotel and great experience overall. »

Have not been in the hotel since 1997, and at that was only there for brunch - had never stayed prior to this. It is an incredibly impressive location, even staying in the Gatehouse and not the main hotel. Great experience commensurate with what one expects from Fairmont, all needs I had were met or exceeded (e.g. storage of hockey equipment, and a late night call to the front desk after I realized I'd forgotten toothpaste). Check in was perhaps a bit slow - but given a bus of us had just arrived, it's easily overlooked. Staff were all exceedingly friendly and helpful. Overall, looking forward to returning.

« The service was amazing, the property is incredible but the food was average and overpriced. »

The service experience was one of the best we've ever had while traveling. The staff was outstanding. The property is so beautiful and well maintained. The onsite services are also very good. Our stay was somewhat undermined by an overall very mediocre food experience. The food was decent but certainly not what we'd expect at such a premium venue, and frankly was way overpriced in our opinion.

« Awesome stay in the Castle in the Mountains. Truly an amazing experience. »

It was first class from the moment we arrived and were greeted to the time we left. The staff we outstanding in every aspect from the rooms to the front desk to the restaurant staff. The rooms were very well appointed and it was obvious that care and pride were used in setting up the room. The birthday cake and wishes upon arrival were memorable. The pool facility was very clean and very well appointed. The views and the Castle are incomparable to anything else in the world.

« Beautiful classy hotel in the middle of the Rocky mountains »

The hotel and scenery is spectacular, the service is excellent. The only downfault was the sleep, the bed is way too soft and the sheets were hard and rough. Also the pillows are too thick, there should be a couple of options (thin and thick). Other than that, the place is amazing.

Our stay was nice and relaxing. One thing we feel needs major improvement is the food offering on the gold floor. We started staying on golf 5 years ago and each visit the food offering seems to be declining. The first time we stayed it was truly amazing and we could not wait to return. We are now limiting our visits as it is just not nearly the same as it use to be.
