Had a beautiful, bright large signature 500 sq ft corner room. Our check in was flawless, very professional. Made great use of the pool. Clockwork bar had amazing cocktails and service. We were there for 2 nights, great location. Would stay again.

Overall, very enjoyable, however when we arrived at 4 pm our room was not ready. We were told we would receive a $50 credit to enjoy a drink in the Clockwork bar while we waited. This charge was then put on my credit card. Very disappointing.

The hotel is well located, but very pricey for the size of the room. Although we did not get to experience any of the amenities the hotel offered, they looked inviting. The check-in process was second to none with very friendly staff and quick service. We would stay here again if a discount for the room was offered.

We had exceptional service from before check in to check out. I called ahead of time about our reservation. My questions were answered in a professional, courteous way. The changes I needed to make were done so with a helpful and understanding mood. On check in day we received a a follow email that everything was as we had requested and our room was ready. During the check in I was again advised that my requests had been completed, asked if I had any other questions or changes required - all with a smile and pleasant demeanour. The check in and lounge area for the Fairmont Gold area was inviting, very clean and offered a tranquil area to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Toronto. Every time we walked into the lounge or got an elevator to head back to our room the representatives greeted us by name. I’ve stayed with the competition and I have yet to find service like I’ve encountered with the Fairmont brand. The service we received made me feel like we found a company that knew how to choose the best people; the ones who care about offering excellent service, and treating people as people and not just the next sale in line. Who knew people remembered how to smile these days! Kudos to the Fairmont Gold team for making our stay so welcoming.

I was pleasantly surprised that the cost of my last day of stay was waived because I checked out at 5.30 pm to catch a flight. I was prepared to pay for the night since I didn’t want to check out at 10am and have no place to rest till the flight. It was really flexible of Fairmont to allow the waiver of the day fare. Your kind gesture has made me confident that I’ll choose Fairmont anytime in future! Thank you very much!

The Fairmont is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The Bed and Breakfast package was great. My room had some issues as it was right next to a suite. The first night you could hear a dog barking in a neighboring room. The suite guests were so loud on both my first and second night that they couldn't hear room service. The family on the third night was fine. But, it seems strange that you can hear that much noise.

Front desk employee never told me that he will change 100 CAD more to my room rate.

While we are happy to know that overall your stay was enjoyable, I am sorry to learn of our communication shortfall during your check-in. I sincerely apologize. In an attempt of offering an explanation, the $100/night pre-authorization, is now a common practice across the majority of Toronto hotels, as well as hotels throughout North America. The deposit holds funds sufficient to cover incidentals that might be charged to your room during your stay, such as parking or dining charges. Any unused portions of the pre-authorization are released during the check-out process. Our agents should always discuss this with you as they are required to swipe your credit card during check-in. Our internal system will allow us to identify the colleague who welcomed you to the hotel so that we may provide further training. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again and I invite you to contact me directly in advance of any future arrivals so that I may ensure that your visit is seamless and enjoyable. I was travelling with my daughter who is pregnant and before my arrival I was contacted to see if she might have any cravings. Oddly enough it was oranges and fresh berries. Shortly after checking in to our room a beautiful plate of all the above arrived at our door. We were both so touched by your thoughtfulness!! I don’t travel often to Toronto but when I do, there is never any question as to where I will stay. The gold floor at the Royal York is the perfect mix of professionalism and genuine kindness. While all your staff tick these boxes, I have a special fondness for Kristen. She always makes me feel like I’m her only guest. Thank you, and during this very difficult time please take care. Good stay, issues with security

Rudely contacted by security at 12:30 am as I was falling asleep due to my apparent loud TV. (This was already addressed to management.) The TV was at the volume of 26! No guest or neighbour had complained, as confirmed by management. The TV was heard in the HALLWAY by security! My DND sign was also on my door but that didn't stop them from calling. Horrific service and power tripping by your security team. It wrecked my sleep that night. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant.

We stayed 1 night to have a relaxing weekend away. Room was good, bed comfortable. The only negative to the stay was because it was Valentine weekend we could only get a reservation for dinner at Reign at 9pm which we were fine with. We were somewhat surprised to find a number of empty tables when we arrived so we really think they could have seated us earlier. While the food was good the other diners were leaving while we were still being served and eating and the dining room was being cleaned up and set up for morning breakfast while we were still eating our meal. Not quite the ambience we were looking for. There was another section (the outer area) were we could have been seated with other guests. It was just sad...

I enjoyed the experience. My husband and I had excellent customer service. At any given moment, if we looked puzzled etc. someone would quickly ask if we needed anything, from cleaning staff to people who seemed to just pop up to help! It was great. I have 2 comments: the invoice I received under my door at he end of my stay and the amount I paid were slightly different by a few dollars. and at the time of check out, I picked up a post card from the desk with special deals and information for guests including a discount at the hotel's restaurant. We did not receive this upon arrival, and while our dinner at the hotel was delicious and enjoyable, it would have been super to receive the discount offered on the card.

I stayed at the Royal York for a 2 night period during a business trip. The bedroom was excellent, the cleaning staff really outdid themselves. Breakfast in bed …..as usual wonderful.....the new bar area in the lobby was a nice surprise...………..What was a nice surprise was an error on my billing, my bill checking out was a total of $751.19. There are 2 debits on my business credit card...1 for 17 Feb $375.00...1 for 18 Feb for $442.29. I contacted the hotel and was told a credit would show on my credit card by the end of the following week BUT nothing has been credited. Please look into this, as I feel someone took advantage of me.
