There was a noticeable air quality issue in the room. My lungs and sinuses became congested and cleared up an hour after I left. I stayed there three weeks prior in a room just next to this one and there was no issue. Also, I was billed for breakfast and it was suppose to be included with my Gold upgrade. Also, I self parked in same lot next door and it cost $20, not $30 that the hotel was charging. I’m dissapointed.

We had a very pleasant experience with the hotel. The reception was fantastic. She asked several questions to probe why we were at the hotel and made sure to accommodate our needs (e.g. arranged to have a microwave and fridge brought to our room).

We had to travel to Toronto for medical reasons and chose the Royal York for our two night stay. I cannot say enough how excellent the service was. The staff were so polite and helpful during our stay. We also appreciated the COVID screening and felt very safe in the hotel. We ate in our room and the food was excellent!

I understand that we are in Covid -- however expected a much better experience for the "full" price paid in a Gold Suite on St Valentine's Day. Room service phones often were not working, had to go down to Lobby to ensure Dining in Order would be even accepted - this happened for both Dinner & Breakfast. The Gold Suite was so highly marketed that it was a big disappointment -- the Price of the Room did not par up with the experience received -- especially on St Valentine. For Dinner menu -- Oysters advertised as a Special Offering not even available on St Valentines????

Heard neighbours on both sides of the walls and across the hall along with every single trip to the ice machine. Room service was great (except for the $6 charge every time we ordered food, more expensive than Uber eats) Oysters were terrible. Bed and view from room were great.

I was looking forward to spend my birthday/Valentines day with my Fiance at the Fairmont, however from the moment of checking in it was clear that the hotel was under staffed and lines were very long. Upon reservation and check-in I informed in advance that I will be having a pet with me and requested a few items to assist with that, such as doggy blankets, bowls (for water and food), and scissors (to open up the package of food for her). I literally had to call twice to get the things I requested and waited roughly 3 hours.... to the point where I asked one of the room service attendants that just happened to be near my room to assist (they were helpful but didn't have all of things on them). My dog didn't eat or drink anything until much later on, so I decided to give her water in a glass that was in the bathroom.... after going through that it was clear that this stay wasn't going to be easy so we decided to take the dog back home to our neighbors (we had to make a 2.5 hour trip to have the arranged), so we can spend the night with no headache since the team wasn't very helpful, so we requested the valet which we were told it would take 15-20 minutes, once we came downstairs at that time it wasn't ready, but we were assured that it's almost here so we waited outside in the cold for a bit but that also turned into another 15 minutes on top. additionally, there was only one set of towels in the bathroom, which also wasn't enough, and the bed sheets had stains on them. This has never been the case before when I stayed with you guys. lastly, The room service food took long to arrive for breakfast the next morning, which is understandable since you were busy and understaffed, however when it finally did arrive an hours after ordering it was very cold, at that point we just wanted to leave so we didn't even bother asking to for a later checkout time (it was provided to us as part of the package) and just wanted to go home.... I'm sorry to leave this review but the Fairmont needs to know what is happening so it doesn't reoccur in the future.

We chose the "newly renovated rooms" or so the website said. We could easily hear the people in the rooms on either side of us. At 11pm we complained twice about the noise and hotel staff addressed it. In the morning we could hear the people on the other side of us speaking in their room. Noise proofing was terrible for what we thought was a top line hotel. Overall the noise detracted from the visit. Room was comfortable.

My first stay with Fairmont was way better than this recent stay. Problems had began as soon as I entered the hotel, there were issues from checking in to getting the wrong room type to none of the services being available on time. The hotel tried to accommodate but it wasn’t enough. We had to wait ages to get our car from valet, it always went beyond the expected time reserved to get my car. The Chrome cast service in our room wasn’t functioning, calling in room dining was not available the first day to order breakfast. The entire stay was not what I had imagined from my previous experience it truly varied. I’m honestly disappointed and sad.

We live in TO so I'm familiar with the reputation and atmosphere at Fairmont Royal York. I've long frequented their library bar (it's a birthday tradition of mine), Clockwork is beautiful (a vast improvement to the old lobby!) and the live music and ambience at Reign is spectacular. It's truly unfortunate that all of these wonderful things have to temporarily shutdown but the charm and indulgence I remembered was definitely present in our stay in the gold room over New Years Eve. The atmosphere, food and aromatherapy shower were great. I appreciate the additional touch of providing a chef's plate with hors d'oeuvres upon our arrival. And I'm especially appreciative of the concierge and hotel staff - every interaction was pleasant and up lifting. We stayed for 2 days and felt refreshed and relaxed. I would love to return when everything re-opens so I can experience Fairmont to it's fullest. Especially that 18th floor lounge!

Please don’t email us stating that the gold lounge is open when it is not, we were lied to over email. Gold concierge stated is was open but it was not, if we knew we wouldn’t have booked a gold room for $300+. IRD employees were also rude to us.

Bought the Valentines Day package. Room to small, no extra romantic gestures in the room, the package came with a dinner, that we did not receive. Had to order take out. breakfast is what saved our time.

My stay at the Fairmont Royal York was perfect! From the moment I was greeted by Jason the hotel manager I felt instantly at home. He went above and beyond to assure my stay was everything I asked for and more. anticipating any needs I had and always delivering with such care and class! I was beyond impressed with the suite. Every detail so luxurious from the fine china plates to the unique aromatherapy shower experience and quality bedding I felt like royalty. Leni in housekeeping took great care to assure I had everything I could possibly need in the room. To say my stay was great is an understatement. I will 100% be returning and would love to compliment and thank Jason, the true star at the Royal York for making this the best staycation of my life. Every little detail made this experience unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It wasn't the same as usual

I am not one to complain and obviously during the pandemic, everything is a bit "off". However, I did have some issues that affected our stay on February 13-14. I booked back in December for my husband's birthday. Check-in and valet were smooth and great service. The room around the corner from ours had their room service cart with discarded food left outside of their room from the moment we arrived until when we checked out, a minor annoyance but that was okay. I had put in the notes for our reservation that it was my husband's birthday. At around 6:00pm I called to see if a piece of cake or something could be brought to our room, but for over 15 minutes I couldn't reach anyone - I tried royal service, concierge and in-room dining. It was really frustrating, so I sent an email asking if we could be accommodated and the response back was that they were busy and to keep trying to call. We finally got a hold of them at 7:55pm, and in-room dining said they couldn't take any food orders at all as they were too busy. This was really disappointing. My last note is that the temperature of the shower in room 8-127 was lukewarm at best. I was going to book for a business overnight stay in the next week, but now I am unsure.

Unfortunately had a room with a broken heater. I informed the staff and very quickly they had us in a new room and made sure that it was super warm for us when we got there. Fantastic customer service!
