The common spaces are generally quite nice, but the actual rooms are small and in need of an update. My bathroom, in particular, as not really in acceptable shape, something was stuck to the inside of the tub, it was reasonably gross.

Check-in and check-out were seamless. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is grand in the old style and well maintained. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. All of the amenities we required were provided and the hotel was quiet. The only drawback was the very small bathroom with insufficient space for toiletries, towel racks and hooks. However I have generally found this to be the case in historic hotels.

Loved everything. The bed.. amazing. The AC, cold. The Long Bar downstairs accommodating, delicious and full of great energy. The staff were so nice! The concierge even offered to mail a letter for us on her break!!! Wonderful hotel, staff and amenities.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time staying here. Absolutely stunning hotel, got upgraded complimentary, room service was delicious. a few things we did not like were: no microwave or freezer in the room (you can stay elsewhere for $100 a night and recieve a microwave and freezer, for $400+ a night I think those two things should be added), as well as when we asked for a second bathrobe we received one with a HUGE tear in the chest area, again for the cost I think you can afford to replace holy bathrobes.

This is my go to hotel in Boston for the last 5 years and this stay was sadly disappointing. Our family was gathering in Boston to celebrate our son's 2020 graduation from Boston College that the University was giving them. I booked 2 of the 1 bedroom suites on the Gold Floor in April and then added 2 additional rooms in August, also on the Gold floor. They did not have us all on the gold floor & claimed that I did not book Gold floor. If you look at my reservation history, I have never NOT stayed on that floor. Beyond that, our suite was not good- no wine opener, mold in the shower, drywall dust on the wallpaper in the bathroom, DVD player would not turn off, no amenities like shower caps or Q-tips, on 2 of the 4 days we did not have washcloths or hand towels, no room service book in the room, the carpeting was bunched up in the bedroom and the food on the Gold floor was the same breakfast every day. There were also no robes in our room & when I spoke to someone on the Gold team they said that they weren't providing them due to Covid restrictions however, 2 of the other rooms we had DID have robes. Overall I am very disappointed and not sure if I will continue to stay here. I always felt like this hotel was a home away from home because of the level of service and amenities. For the price we paid it was not worth it this time. I know that the hospitality industry has been terribly affected by this pandemic, but don't offer and charge for Gold floor service if you cannot adequately provide this service. The rooms are looking very tired and I don't think they match the Accor and Fairmont brand.

We arrived in town early and asked the desk to text us when our room was ready which she never did. After we waited until 4:30 I asked someone else who was able to get our room right away. Not happy with the view of the mirrored tower next door, I had requested a room with a view and was even willing to pay for the upgrade which was sent to me through email. Finally, the ribeye that I ordered at the Oak Long Bar tasted fatty and overdone. I seriously could have gotten a better steak at Longhorn. We had been planning this trip for about 2 years and have had to postpone due to Covid. I had thought we had reserved in plenty of time. I am curious as to how folks are selected to receive the better rooms. What is the best way to insure that when I spend this much money for a room, that I can get a room with a view? I was in town for the Red Sox game with my daughter. The location was perfect for us as we planned to walk back from the game. The location also allowed us to meet several friends and family members who live in the local area.

I stayed there for one night for a wedding that was on site. I had an excellent experience. The room was clean staff friendly and knowledgeable. The wedding was the first wedding I have been to where the food was absolutely perfect! Very rare. Thank you for the great experience.

The rooms were lovely and the service overall was good. I cannot rate the stay a nine or 10, however, because, as a guest in the hotel, it was very difficult to make reservations at the restaurant. I could not reach a live person and for the two reservations I tried to make no one called me back either time. There should be a way for guests to speak directly with someone at the restaurant, yes, a live person.

Gorgeous antiquated building in a convenient area. Close to shopping and sightseeing. The lobby hosted a nice restaurant with a generous selection on its menu. Service at the hotel was also excellent.
