Great location and beautiful beach. The artwork is really fun and well curated. I visited during low season and the beach was not crowded and yet having an attendant there was great. All and I really mean all the staff was outstanding!

My family and I stayed at the Hamilton Princess from Tuesday 11/26 until Saturday 11/30. During that time, we interacted with many of the employees. Door staff, housekeeping (Kai), front desk, kitchen staff, bartenders, restaurant and wait staff, jitney driver, gym staff and other employees. Every single one of them not only were courteous and helpful, they initiated follow up to continually make sure we were taken care of. One employee that stood out the most was Toussant. He was our breakfast server on Friday 11/29 at the Crown and Anchor. He realized that one of my adult children was autistic. After he had finished serving us breakfast, he asked my wife if there was anything that the hotel could do to make my son's stay at the hotel more comfortable for my son. In the twenty five years of my son's life, no one in any service industry position has ever said something so caring to us regarding him. We felt it absolutely necessary to let you know about how those sincere words had such a profound effect on us. He is an employee that you should be extremely proud of. In fact, this was our first stay at your hotel in five visits to Bermuda. He sealed our loyalty to your hotel for future visits. On another note, my teenage children found an appreciation for modern art because of your publicly displayed collection. We are sorry our stay wasn't long enough to take advantage of your Saturday tour. In fact, when people ask my children about the vacation, they bring up the art collection as one of the highlights.

Truly enjoyed our stay at the Hamilton Princess and would likly return. It's our own fault for not researching better, but it wasn't readily apparent that the beach club was a 20-30m drive away from the hotel. It's a nice facility, but surprised there was no food options once on-site at the beach club. Overall, we were happy with our stay but might consider a hotel with more convenient beach access (although we'd be giving up on walking access to Hamilton).

« It is a lovely hotel but not as lovely as it was »

We were giving queens instead of the requested king. When we checked in the clerk promised she would see if we could switch. We were there 4 nites—never got a call. Just as awful, the last two nites we were surprised to find little creatures sharing the room. I did not want to alert my spouse who would have freaked out; she apparently saw them as well and did not want to tell me. But while bugs are brought in by guests there must be standard pesticide treatments which do not seem to be adequate.

My credit card was charged $6200.00 the first night I was there. Then they tried to charge it again and again all during my stay. They charged from $4200.00 down to $500.00 two and three times a day. When it finally started declining the charges the sent me a nasty note to come give them another firm of payment. Since all the charges kept coming on my card got a fraud alert on it. Then everything kept getting declined. That is no way to run a business. I come there every 1-2 months and this was the first time I had ever had my card declined or a credit hold put on my card. Right now in all good consciousness recommend the Hamilton Princess to any of my coworkers that also come over on a regular basis.

I like the overall hotel property and experience. For the second time I stayed in the main building. I felt that during both stays the rooms needed renovation. The carpets are excessively worn and furniture is dated.

We had high hopes for this vacation and, while we enjoyed our time in Bermuda, we were disappointed with the Hamilton Princess. We've stayed at many Fairmonts in the past and have come to expect more from the brand than was experienced in Hamilton. A few of the issues we encountered: -I booked through American Express Fine Hotels (something I've done many, many times before). When booking, I requested a crib and a rollaway, as we were travelling with our two young children. Additionally, I emailed the concierge separately with some questions and made it clear that our children would be with us. Upon check-in, I was told that the room we had booked would not accommodate a crib and rollaway. I was then given the option to upgrade to a junior suite for an additional $80/night. The fact that the room wasn't large enough for the additional beds is something that should have been communicated to me in my previous correspondence with the hotel. Had I known this, I would have booked at Rosewood or the Fairmont Southampton (as these are both available through AmEx, have significantly larger rooms and were comparable costs). After some discussion, the manager gave us the junior suite for no additional cost. While this was appreciated, we were disappointed upon arriving in the room. We were given room 516. After we lugged our bags and children up there, we realized that the room was not clean. There was a half eaten fruit plate with a note addressed to someone else and the bed had obviously been slept upon. Additionally, that room has a serious safety issue. The windows are operable but cannot be locked due to corrosion of the metal. This would have been a major concern for us as we were travelling with a 3 year old and 1 year old who could have easily climbed up and opened the window. Upon returning to the front desk, we were given another room, which we ended up staying in. It was a nice suite, and we appreciated the extra space. It did, however, have two double beds, when we were told it would have two queen beds. This was not the end of the world, but at 7 months pregnant, it is no longer comfortable for me to sleep in a double bed with another person. Another minor inconvenience was that the tub drain in our room didn't work, making it impossible to give our children a bath on the first night there. This was reported and was fixed the following day. The second day of our trip, we decided to go to the beach. The shuttle ride there was fine and our driver (Miss Davis) made it more of a tour than a shuttle ride. She was great! We enjoyed the beach club for a few hours and then decided to return on the 12:45 shuttle so that our younger daughter could nap. We had been told that the shuttles really stick to their schedule, so that we should be sure to be on time. By 12:35, we were all packed up and had changed the kids out of their bathing suits and had washed all the sand off of them. When the shuttle had still not arrived by 12:55, I called the hotel to ask if it was coming. The person I spoke to at the front desk had no idea what was going on with the shuttle and told me it should be coming shortly. The shuttle did not arrive until 1:30 and did not depart of the hotel until 1:45. We wasted more than an hour of a short vacation waiting for the shuttle. It's not a big deal that it was late, but I wish that that information had been communicated to us so that we could have enjoyed the beach longer instead of sitting by the entrance waiting for a shuttle. Another minor inconvenience was that our bill was incorrect at the end of our stay and we had to go back to the front desk twice to get it corrected. On a positive note, we found the housekeeping staff and concierge staff to be helpful. While we feel that we will likely return to Bermuda in the future due to the ease of getting there from the East Coast, we do not plan to stay at the Hamilton Princess again.

« A very comfortable, clean hotel with staff who were always pleasant and provided outstanding service. »

Unfortunately I was quite busy with meetings during my visit so I did not get to enjoy all of the amenities offered. However, the room was quite spacious and comfortable, staff were always welcoming and had a pleasant attitude and the food was very good.
