I have to say the staff were fantastic. Unfortunately we upgraded our room but was unable to participate in the features of staying in the Gold level. And unfortunately nearly all the amenities were closed to us.

Great location with close proximity and walking distance to everything I need.

Initial guest room was over the tables in the courtyard and thus was noisy at night. I could also hear the woman in the room next to me - I could actually hear her coughing and talking. I requested a room change for the second night and was placed into a much quieter room that I enjoyed.

I stayed there this past week as the corona virus problem was developing. The staff couldn’t have been better. Everyone was warm, welcoming, informed and calm. That goes for everyone from the front desk/concierge, the doormen, the housekeepers and the people in both restaurants. It was wonderful.

Surprised by the additional daily resort fee which is added to the room cost. Off-season it is very difficult to take advantage of this bar the free classes in the Spa. Our room was a very long walk from the main hotel, which for the discounted price we paid we were expecting. Size was good for the price but the rest pretty average regarding quality of furnishings, bed, bathroom, etc. Cleanliness was OK but certainly not good. Both of us were electrocuted by the vanity mirror in the bathroom, which was then disconnected by an engineer after reporting it. The reception staff did not seem too alarmed by this, although did say we could move to another room. The service at the Crown and Anchor Bar was appalling. Each time we had to call someone to serve us rather than being greeted and asked what we’d like. Then very slow to receive our drinks and bill. Also disappointed by the new cafe. Although the staff were friendly, the quality of the drinks was poor, serving very expensive cappuccinos out of a machine rather than having a barista. Coffee had a burnt and bitter taste. Food was good though. We entertained a client in Marcus, where the service was very good and friendly, but the food was slow to table, wasn’t prepared how we had requested and arrived warm, so it suggested that it had been sitting on the pass for a while. We went to a yoga class at the Spa which was very good. The gym is on the small side but well equipped. I asked about TRX, which they had, but I wasn’t allowed to use it unless it was in a class which was annoying. Generally, this looks like a very high quality hotel but the service doesn’t live up to expectations and unless you pay a lot for a premium room nor does the accommodation.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. We enjoyed being close to Hamilton allowing for easy access to a number of restaurants. The hotel was lovely and all the staff were wonderful.
