Due to staff shortages some of the service was not up to the usual standard. Our cabin was very cold even though we were told to set thermostat to maximum, still remained cold. Used the space heater in the room but still could not get the room temperature up to 20 C. Otherwise the event was very pleasant.

Well, the original room we had didn't have any heat and it was very cold outside. The problem was that it took over an hour to get the new room. We waited in the cold room because someone was "on the way" (even after calling twice to ask what was going on). So we were pretty disappointed with the whole debacle. We only had one night to stay in town so it was just to take that long to switch a room, it was frustrating. We could have been in the pool, in the restaurant or walking around town, but we were sitting in a cold room.

Poor value for the cost

We came for our friend's wedding, and had a group rate. Even with that rate, it didn't seem like the quality lived up to the price point or the brand's reputation. The site is beautiful, but the room was dated & mediocre quality. It was quite cold outside, and the room's heating didn't quite keep up with the temperature properly. The refrigerator was poorly placed near the bed, and very loud, so we had to unplug it. The furniture layout inside the suite didn't make sense, frequently getting in the way. The TV was lesser-grade than expected at a standard hotel. The coffee was sub-par. The bathroom was claustrophobic. The floor in front of the bathroom was ice cold. Noises outside kept my partner awake at night. The food in the Great Hall was expensive and in some circumstances (eg: the very overpriced $25 Eggs Benedict) not very good: too much salt, unflavourful hollandaise, unimaginative, and I'm not sure how the butter got burned on the otherwise ordinary english muffin. The dinner we had was pretty nice, but not impressive, and I'm not sure what the bill was that the bridge & groom picked up, but I imagine it was similarly lofty. It was interesting that the cash bar at the wedding seemed to have a price premium vs the other bars, rather than any sort of special rate given the amount of services being paid for. So I would say that Jasper Park Lodge was less impressive than other hotels I've stayed at in Jasper, that were less expensive. The location of those other hotels, while less picturesque, was also more convenient, as there were more capable & less expensive restaurants nearby. There was a bit of a feeling of being captive with overpriced on-site services. The staff were very helpful & pleasant.

We had a wonderful time just as fall was arriving at Jasper Park Lodge. The air was crisp and cool with beautiful, clear blue skies above our view of the lake from our spacious cabin. Lucky for us we received a complimentary upgrade to a gigantic 2 Queen sized bedroom suite, plenty of sitting room with a large wood burning fireplace. The only complaint we had was there was a staff shortage due to an Accountant’s convention , that had the wait times quite long for our breakfasts, the breakfast were delicious!! The scenery was magnificent with elk wandering around on the property gave it that wildlife “feel “ without the danger! My son and I promised ourselves we would indulge in the 60 oz tomahawk steak the next time we stay !

Wonderful picturesque getaway in the Jasper Rockies, delicious food and somber experience to recharge and reflect on life! The weather was clear, crisp and oxygen rich. I want to go back and devour the Tomahawk steak !
