« Top notch service! »

After checking out from the hotel, I realized that I had left my laptop in the safe. I was already traveling by rain and I was able to call the hotel and explained my situation. Immediately, the front desk sent the security to check. Fortunately, they found it and I was able to have a colleague pick it up for me. The entire time, the staff was extremely professional and assured me that everything was going to ok. Anna in lost and found was fantastic! There was a second gentleman (I didn't catch his name) was also very polite and great. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels around the world and have not received this level of service. A heartfelt Thank you to the staff that helped me. When I’m back in Montreal this will be my home.

« Perfect location being over convention centre »

Good stay, appreciated new decor, however desk chair was not comfortable for a short person and it was the only chair in room, and there wasn't a fridge for guest use. These days when people stay for several days, they often bring healthy snacks that need to be refrigerated, shouldn't need to request a fridge and pay extra for it.

« Honestly not great . Very overpriced for the quality of service I received. »

FYI -This stay was a surprise for my new girlfriend for valentines. The first since my divorce . We both live in Montreal so know Montreal quite well. I booked the QE because it is the most famous hotel in the city . Feedback. We checked in on the 8th Feb . There was a snowstorm outside .Receptionist did not offer for someone to take our bags ??. (5 star ?) but only asked me about the spelling of my girlfriends name , which I had given on making the reservation Bedroom was nice but very small . Bed/mattress was the highlight of the stay . I could have slept for my 2 days in the hotel . We went for dinner in Roselys . Honestly the worst food I have ever had in Montreal and I eat out quite often . Restaurant is beautiful but OMG the food is so bad we were actually laughing. We were not even offered a wine menu . We normally have a bottle of wine , some dessert wine etc . This time I had only a few beers , which to be honest were the highlight of the experience . To put this into context we went to the 'Cage au sport " for lunch the next day and the quality of the food was far superior to your hotel . The swimming pool and gym are very beautiful but are people meant to guess how the locker system works ? There is no instructions and the staff do not explain how it works . Would it be so difficult to put instructions . That evening of the 09th , we decided to stay in and have a bottle of wine and watch a movie but the TV did not work . I called reception and they send up a technician . He came in looked at the TV and said we have the same issue here . Of course he probably thought I would not understand but i am bilingual and of course I understood that the hotel was already aware of this issue but did not want to tell there clients it was a known issue .He left after about 5 mins never to be see again . I called reception about mins later (not wanting to seem inpatient) and was infact told my the receptionist that it was a general issue and that the provider was sending out a technician to resolve he issue . So my girlfriend and I watched a movie on our phones at our expenses as your hotel charges for WIFI , which I find totally unbelievable .Lets get with the times . I have stayed in lots of hotels all over Canada and its the first time WIFI has not been free. There is actually more to my bad experience , believe it or not but i am not spending anymore time typing about my terrible experience . I was actually a restaurant manager and F&B manager for several years in the hotel business in Ireland my country of birth before I moved to Canada so I know the business . Its not easy and clients can be unreasonable . I am not like them and your hotel is falling short of the 5 star standard(fact). I spent over $700 in 2 days for your hotel and feel totally ripped off . I had budgeted $1000-$1500 but I was a scared to spend any money in your hotel after the restaurant . This is a large & luxurious hotel which needs some navigation skills. The signage is OK, but I found asking the staff the best. Rooms are nicely appointed and have every amenity. The location is also good and I found it easy to get around the city either walking up to Mont Royale or by taxi.

« Good location walking distance to most major attractions. »

I was staying at this beautifully set up hotel for the Paper week conference, we had daily lunches for 200 people and all the cuisine was incredible.. room was good, the washroom was a little on the small side but the entire decor was stunning. Definitely would recommend and I will be back for another stay.

Good service as always however the shower in the bedroom took ages to deliver hot water everyday - wasted a lot of time. Also the alarm next to my bed was set to 4am without me knowing meaning I got woken up for nothing in the middle of the night. Didn't get any feedback from the hotel on these points despite me complaining. Other hotels would give you free points or something for the inconvenience

« Nice hotel , room heater was noisy as could be »

I liked the room setup it was clean. But they haven't don't maintenance on their heating system. There fan made lots of noise and wouldn't go into auto mode. When I turned off the system so I could sleep in quiet (don't mind the cold) the entire machine would buzz. So I slept 4.5 hours, not a great night.

We had a suite and the housekeeping was very poor. They only made the bed. If we left a glass or a piece of garbage, it was still there when we returned. The poorest housekeeping i have experienced in 30 years of hotel stays

« Excellent conference experience »

My room was comfortable and bright. The conference rooms were both large enough to hold our groups, while at the same time still feeling intimate. The food was excellent. The amenities like the gym and C2 were excellent amenities. All the staff were courteous and did their utmost to make me and my fellow attendees feel at "home".
