The suite was very clean and I felt safe during my stay. Overall the hotel met my expectations. Customer service could be better, but I blame it on the recovery from the pandemic. Will definitely be back. I was disappointed that a suite upgrade was not available upon arrival.

Disappointing stay in some respect

Lobby and Fig Restaurant noise was totally unacceptable due to a lack of sound absorbing carpeting. . On each of my four days at the hotel, I observed people in the lobby bar and Fig Restaurant literally yelling at the person sitting next to them. I've never seen anything like this in my entire life! A chaotic atmosphere due to guest decibel levels. Piped music is far too loud, as well. I'd like to add another issue that was totally off putting. Upon checking in after a long flight, the young lady at the Front Desk informed me that my room would not be cleaned nor would my bed be made each morning. I'm 78 years old and was taught by my nanny to make my own bed every day since age four! Why would I pay $447+/night and be expected to make my own bed? This is the first time in 50 years of global (Australasian/European) business/pleasure travels that I've been told, in essence, "Make your own bed!" I mentioned this to a few business associates in Santa Monica and they were simply aghast. While I understand California water restrictions for sheets and towels and perhaps loss of staff due to COVID and other issues, I refuse to accept that a hotel now expects guests to make their own beds, tidy their own rooms, empty their own trash, and use the same towels for a four night stay. However, the cleaning women were SUPERB in every way. Cheerful, quick, and thorough! Simply superb!! Unfortunately, on one morning when I asked for an additional bar of soap, the women told me she didn't have any soap on her cart. I mean, truly, why wouldn't the hotel supply her cart with essential guest needs, i.e., soap? She was more than willing to run to get some but time away from her routine troubled me so I told her to forget it. I bought a bar of soap at CVS that day. How does that strike you? On a brighter note, the food was superb in the Fig Restaurant; I had asked for a quiet corner because one man in our group was celebrating his 81st birthday. The manager went out of her way, quickly and efficiently, to bring us blankets and a heating element as it was a rather chilly evening. So, my two concerns for your future reputation is 1) how can the Fairmont Miramar lower guest and other ambient noise in the lobby and 2) how can the Fairmont Miramar end the expectation of business guests, or any guests for that matter, to clean their own rooms? Very basic hospitality industry issues for management to discuss and remedy. Sheila M.

We stayed 5 nights. The room was pleasant though ordinary. Food was ok to good-Sun. brunch. The Hostess at Fig was sullen. The worst part is the night club is very loud and you cannot try to sleep until the close for the night. Last trip I stayed at Shutters on the Beach which was 5 star all the way with a similar cost

We stayed here one night before our international flight to Tahiti. It hit all the wrong notes. There was a club right below our window that played blaring music until 2 am. We called and talked to 3 people and nothing could be done to fix the situation. This was terrible considering we had a long flight ahead of us. The next day the desk clerk did extend a late check out. As we waited at the hotel during that late check out we decided to have a drink at the hotel bar. After sitting for :35 minutes, we left after no one came by to help. I get it, you are figuring things out again. But this was bad.

Extremely overpriced fir the service and room qualities. This is a hands down 3 star max hotel. I was very disappointed that the price was hiked over $200 over the displayed price which was already high d/t holiday weekend. To make it all worse the staff was rude to my 14 year old daughter. WHO is rude to children?!?!?

My fiancé and I independently and on travels together often choose Accor hotels (specifically the Fairmont & Sofitel brands) due to the wonderful and consistent experience across the fleet. We were disappointed when the room we checked into last Wednesday did not fit the normal Fairmont standard. The pillows and bedding were that I would expect at a motel, not a 4 diamond resort. They were cotton pillows that had clear indentations in them from many years of use and previous guests. We arrived late from out of state so we attempted to tough it out and make it work but ultimately called to change rooms. The room we were moved to was an improvement from the previous and closer to those of previous stays at other Accor resorts but still disappointing. Although the amenities at the property are top notch, I am weary about recommending this particular Fairmont to friends and family due to the quality of the beds. We are staying at another Fairmont resort in a couple of weeks and I am hopeful for a bunch better experience.

We unfortunately had to cut our stay short because our daughter had a car accident in TX. The staff could not have been nicer, and they were focused on her well-being and our concerns instead of worrying about a room being vacated.

When I tried to check in at 3:00, I was told my room was not ready. The girl said she would send me a text when it was. After an hour I tried calling the front desk several times and no one would answer the phone. I returned to the hotel at 5:00 and my room was ready but no one sent me a text to let me know. I paid for a premier ocean front room. Once I got to my room I realized the bed faced inland toward an apartment building. That was my view for most my stay. Unless I sat on my deck or at the desk there was no ocean view. The said they were sorry they could not change my room to accommodate an ocean view from my bed. The furniture was very nicked. There was rust in the soap tray in the shower. The overall appearance of the room was very run down. I cancelled the remainder of my stay and checked into The Huntley Hotel which for the same price had beautiful views from my bed and from my shower.

Was “upgraded” to an outtdated room, severe water damage around the HVAC exhaust. Very weird layout not capitalizing on the view by positioning the bed to see east East. Weird bathroom doors. Surly front desk attendant at check in (keys didn’t work, luckily my guest had a set so I didn’t have to deal with her again). Surly uncaring front desk attendant at check out didn’t care about the shape of the room. Possible mold exposure do to damage.

We had a wonderful time at the Fairmont. We stayed in a family suite. It was perfect for our family. The room was clean and the staff very attentive to all our needs. We loved the fact that the hotel had bicycle at our disposal.
