I stay here once or twice a year for business or pleasure. My stays are always go smoothly and I am welcomed by the staff. Food at FIG is delicious.

I always stay at The Fairmont when I’m in LA because of it’s perfect location and friendly atmosphere. I am an Accor member and regular client. I was very disappointed when I arrived at the hotel and my rooms weren’t ready. I had prechecked the day before and they were aware of my 3 PM arrival. It would have been acceptable and I would have considered it an aberration, however; this was the third or fourth time this had occurred. The manager did issue me a credit to make up for the inconvenience but, I would have been much happier had the rooms been ready.

« This was an expensive room, almost 500.00 and it was old, ugly and not well appointed in the bathroom or bar area. »

The staff is friendly but the rooms are tired and unappealing. I come to Los Angeles once a month. This was my second stay at the Fairmont and I don't think I will come back. It is not worth the money.

« Beautiful hotel, but aging infrastructure »

The staff at the hotel were impeccable, as always. The room, was larger than I had expected. Was staying as part of a group booking done by our office, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a Suite instead of just a Room. However, I was left with the feeling that the infrastructure in the hotel was aging or starting to show it's wear... the handle in the shower in my suite popped right off in my hand the first time I tried to use it. I notified the front desk and they had that repaired later that day. But... even after that, the water pressure was sporadic at best... I found I could either get "tons of water pressure, but it's ice cold", or "very little water pressure, and it's scalding hot". After a few days I managed to find the sweet-spot in the middle where I could adjust the handle to get enough water pressure to make it worth having a shower, while also being warm enough to not be freezing. Even still, though, any change in the pressure on the line would make the shower flip over to "lots of pressure, but it's ice cold". You'd hear the "thunk" sound, and know that you had about two seconds to step out of the way and adjust the handle. Not the end of the world, but was something that stuck in my mind. Our office had enough people staying at the Fairmont that I also managed to hear stories of what some of my co-workers were experiencing in their rooms; two of them burnt out their air-conditioner units and so their rooms were (apparently) stifling hot, one had a backed up drain in their shower, the other had a backed up toilet. I did not experience those problems in my suite, but again, it left me with the impression that the hotel is beautiful and the staff is fabulous, but the "bones" of the hotel are starting to age. All said, though, that does not mean that I would not stay at the Fairmont again.

Your house car got in a car accident with me in it - your hotel sent Advil to my room and ended up charging me for it. You put me in a room that had plumbing done to the room right above me so for two days I heard drilling. The director of operations (Pete) never got back to me to discuss how we would try to make it right. I’m a good member - worst hotel experience of my life.

Overall, the experience was great. Beautiful hotel and views. Sleeping room was slightly under what I expected based on the hotel. Fridge was a little confusing. A lot of time waiting for elevators.

« Very disappointing - hotel in decline »

When the booking was made, a clear request was made for a quiet room - first room near the bungalow, second room near the bungalow (had to move at night as couldn’t sleep for the noise), third room which I was promised was quiet was right above the lobby lounge - there was one large, loud group outside on first night. At 1:30am, after having already complained, I went down to reception where Andrew (incompetent at best) said to me “it would be weird to ask them to move indoors”. What a stupid comment - the bar closed at 12am, why were the guests allowed to be outside making a large amount of noise at 1:30am! I asked that the manager call me the next day - nothing! To cap it all, the sauna then didn’t work on one of the days. I have stayed regularly at the hotel over the past 7 years, my company is probably one of the hotels biggest clients (our office is across the road) but you would never guess it from the attitude of staff etc. The rooms are also very dated.

The room was small and ammenities were quite poor. The valet experience was also very disappointing during checkout. A member of staff actually asked me for ID after I found my items left to the side and had to leave (and positively identified all of my items). Is this the behavior that non-black guests are also subjected to? I am so disappointed in the Fairmont brand for this.

Disappointed this year as I was not given my usual room during AFM, where I have stayed the past 10 years. I had to switch rooms in the middle of the week which made me feel like I could never really unpack my belongings to make myself comfortable and I did not rest well during the night.
