This was the most perfect stay in Vancouver. The ambiance and warmth of the lobby to the comfort and perfection of the room. Our check in and check out experience was first rate. Housekeeping was so attentive to our needs and on that very snowy Tuesday your staff was right on top of getting us a cab. We particularly enjoyed our Wednesday morning swim in the pool that was the most perfect temperature and the view of the Northshore Mountains sparkling white from the fresh snow . A perfect spot to admire the beauty of downtown Vancouver.

The Fairmont Waterfront is in a great location in Vancouver, BC. However, the guest rooms look run-down, including the more expensive Signature Harbour view rooms - the bath tubs definitely need replacement there & carpets need deeper cleaning! The view from the room, although awesome, is only a partial view of the Harbour and you'll be looking mostly at the port cranes and equipment, which doesn't justify a $600 per night rate for these rooms in my opinion. The reception staff is great, very accommodating and eager to please the guests; however, they make mistakes in the final check-out bill, so be aware. The hostess' desk in the ARC restaurant is usually unattended which causes major frustrations for the customers waiting in line for the restaurant or the bar. The servers/waiters provide great service once you're in the hotel restaurant or bar. For the size of this hotel, though, the restaurant, bar and pool should be bigger or there should be more than one of each...especially, more than one small hot tub for such a big hotel (23-stories) fully booked!

I was surprised at the lack of adequate guest service. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived even though we’d booked weeks in advance and arrived an hour after check-in began. We had requested a room adjacent to our friends’ room the week before. The man at the check-in counter was rude and uncommunicative. I actually had to ask how I would be accommodated for the inconvenience of the room we requested not being ready (and really no excuse seeing as it was an hour after check-in began). He seemed reluctant to offer me drink tickets instead of apologizing and offering them (or other measures) himself. He made me feel like I was putting him out. There were three of us in the room but only two housecoats. We called concierge for a third and it still didn’t arrive an hour after we’d requested it. The next morning we called the concierge for cream for our coffee and had to call back 30 minutes later because it still hadn’t arrived. The main power outlet between the two beds didn’t work, so we were forced to find other power outlets (unplug coffee maker etc) to charge our phones in the morning when we realized they hadn’t charged overnight while plugged in to the outlet between the beds. The light on the magnification mirror in the bathroom did not work. Overall, I was quite shocked at the low quality service.
