We had the most fantastic stay at The Savoy to celebrate my 50th birthday. The grand and impressive building itself was surpassed by the Staff. All staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. How the knew my name and that it was my birthday, I have no idea - but the personal touch was fantastic. We have already booked afternoon tea for the whole family, to share The Savoy experience with them at Christmas!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The service was exceptional as were the facilities. We very much enjoyed the swimming pool , the Savoy Grill and the bar.

We were originally scheduled to stay at the Savoy in March to celebrate my 50th Birthday, due to the pandemic this had to be postponed. When we first arrived at the hotel we were greeted by Shaun who was very welcoming. Richard checked us in and took us to our room, and we were really pleased as we were given a one bedroomed suite. The room was lovely although I was a little surprised that there was no water or other finishing touches that I would have expected. We had afternoon tea which was nice, but just seemed to lack something. We had asked for a certain sandwich not to be included & replaced with something else but when it arrived our request had been ignored and we had to ask the waiter again. When my husband booked, breakfast was included with the price we had paid and yet it was charged to our room, along with a few other charges. We had to query the bill, which was frustrating I would have expected our check out to be seamless. In addition the morning we were checking out the room key stopped working and we had to ask for it to be reactivated. The cost of the breakfast was around £90 each morning, which for some fruit and tomatoes on toast seemed a little excessive. The Savoy Grill did not live up to its reputation, had I just attended the restaurant I would have been incredibly disappointed. We were also disappointed that some of the bars and facilities were not open, this was not explained to us when we checked in. On one occasion when we returned to the hotel after having an evening meal, the doorman queried why we were entering the hotel. I felt a little affronted that we had to explain that we were guests staying at the hotel. I had been looking forward to staying at the hotel and was very disappointed when my original trip had to be cancelled. Although we had a nice time it wasn’t quite what we were expecting and hoped for.

The team love to spoil guests staying with us for a special occasion and I'm so sorry we missed this opportunity during afternoon tea and you shouldn't have had to repeat your request. Water is provided during the turndown service, but we will ensure this is placed in your room on arrival moving forwards. The charge error and breakfast in the Savoy Grill was disappointing and I wish to sincerely apologise for the frustration caused. As you say, the service should absolutely have been seamless and we will pass your feedback to the management team. In terms of hotel information, these details should have been sent to you in a pre-arrival email and during your check in, so we will follow up with the team on this. I am very sorry you were question by the doorman. The safety and security of our guests is our priority and after 9pm at night the doorman will take extra care with those entering the hotel, but any questions are never meant to cause offense, so please accept once again our sincere apologies. Sadly there were aspects of your stay that failed to make a good impression and we are all very sorry. We have taken your comments seriously and hope you will consider returning to us in the future, so we can create a happier and more memorable stay experience. I have to say the level of service your whole team provide is second to none and all members couldn’t do enough for us so thank you. That said we did encounter a few issues which I am sure you would like us to address to assist you in the future. On arival at our room we noticed the sideboards writing desk and TV stand all had heat rings etc from hot tea coffee teapots etc which stood out and deflected from the quality of the rest of the room and hotel. Ordinarily we would understand this could have been from a previouse visit but we found out this was the first day open from quite a long closure so thought this should have been address (also the view from the room wasn’t great but we apreciate we had a cheaper room) There was a pint of tesco milk in the fridge which was great for me as I like a lot of tea but Mandy my wife said she thought it should have been put in a different container. We did run out and ask for more which was brought up in a proper cina milk server so thank you. We booked afternoon tea for our arival date which we really enjoyed but inevitably we couldn’t finish it off and we thought the leftover cakes and scones would be boed up for us for later, which they wernt (we didn’t ask so our fault) but the offer would have been nice. We did try to get into the savoy grill for dinner but couldnt as it was fully booked so we ended up eating in the ivy which was a shame and not what you would expect when a resident. We did havetwo breakfast in the grill the first one went off without incident but the Saturday breakfast took 1 hour and 10 mins to even get server a drink. Jeet did sort us out for this and has offered us afternoon tea on our next visit which is fantastic. I understand the grill is a franchise business but thought you should know. Look guys to recap we really enjoyed our stay and your staff and team members were all fantastic, you booked me the pool all to myself which was out of this world and we truly a great experiance, we are booking with Jeet for another night in December and am sure we will keep coming. Its just I run a marketing company and Im sure this stuff is important to you. I would never dream of putting this stuff on social meadia but other would and so I am sure you would rater I tell you about it. Mitch B.

After a long conversation with Mr Sean Davoren he ensured and promised me he would email direct offering me a upgrade and look into the complaint. Still to this day nothing from him. We have stayed at your hotel several times. The service we received was disgusting. Complaints raised to Mr Davoren Room dirty Hot water Champagne breakfast did not turn up When I called they sent one breakfast my with didn't have hers. I then telephone down so sorry Mr H. another one on its way. When it arrived it was a full English not vegan which we ordered. No orange juice as it was to early and delivery had not turned up. This is the savoy we only ordered orange juice come on !!!!! I could go on there are more than the above which was absolutely appalling service. And to top it off your head butler promised to email me direct I can assure you if I do not have a reply I will be taking this further Graham H.

As always friendly professional staff members whom nothing is too much trouble.As always the hotel and room was impeccable. On Sat morn the breakfast in the grill was a bit off the mark but I put that down to a new way of working within these unusual times.Love to start the day off in the pool but only allocated half an hour.Fully understand the reasoning but not sure if anyone else followed us after that and whether we would have been given notice if our use could have been extended. All in all it felt great to be back in the finest hotel in London

A lovely stay but we would not come again because we loathed the piped music at breakfast and the over-amplified live music in the otherwise wonderful cocktail bars. Why must guests be assaulted by noise?

Staff as always are excellent- Just let down by Breakfast on Sunday in Restaurant being very slow, which I acknowledge we did get an apology from the staff and management- In order to give you the the appropriate feedback to instigate the necessary change the quality of the Savoy Breakfast also wasn’t good - My son made the comment to me that a Whetherspoons breakfast was far more enjoyable at a fraction of the price. We have stayed at comparable hotels in London and around the world and can say that your breakfast experience is lagging behind by a long way - I hope you will take these points on board as we really do enjoy staying here.
