The check in was fine, the service desk was a bit disconnected. Not very friendly, not rude, just eh. When you get to the room it’s dark, no good light and then the bathroom was old. The flooring in the shower was extremely dirty looking. May not have been dirty but the tile was very worn and made for a permanently dirty look. Cramped and outdated. I wouldn’t pay the money to stay there again. Not a lot offered for the price and there was nothing spectacular about it.

Stay was nice. Lake view was nice. Long black hairs in the bath tub were not. I was looking forward to a steaming bath, but They made it highly undesirable to get in the tub. Cleanliness was not the highest priority in this hotel. It will be very unlikely that I return. Clean your tubs.

Professional, helpful staff. Beautiful, convenient location. Clean room. Clean bathroom, No mold. My only complaint was room service. I ordered grilled cheese and french fries. The grilled cheese was burnt and not just a little. The sandwich and french fries were cold.

Excellent hotel, despite deplorable arrival experience

Upon arrival, around 6 pm, there was nobody manning the Front Desk. There were two guest ladies at the front desk. This went on for several minutes. More guests arrived and nobody there. I asked the Concierge and told him that I had never arrived at a four-star hotel to find an empty front desk. Eventually a receptionist came out. Only glitch. Room was impeccable, restaurant The Palm as well. we enjoyed our stay there very much. But the arrival experience was unaccepatable.

My sister, niece and I had a "staycation" last weekend at the Swissotel to celebrate my niece passing her nursing boards. We were upgraded to a suite with a lovely view, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were to sent to our room to congratulate my niece on her accomplishments and when we asked for a late check out it was "No problem". We truly enjoyed our stay at the Swissotel!

We found the people at the registration desk and the two people at the concierge desk extremely friendly and helpful. That was not the case with the servers working in Amuse. We sat for an inordinate amount of time waiting for a server to take our order; when we finally went up to the counter (there were four people standing at the counter talking to one another) to ask for service the person we spoke to was not friendly; in spite of our request for service we had to wait quite a bit longer before we were finally served. We liked the room and the location.

Professional staff, warm reception, attractive bar, good food, and really a step above most American hotels. Reasonable value for what I received (meaning a good value, despite the excellent location.) Sure, my breakfast sandwich could have been fresher, but if that's the worst you can say, then stay home next time! Rooms are large, and my view was "out of a brochure" beautiful, looking onto the river, lake, and Navy Pier. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice stay. However, the automatic addition of a $20 per night (+tax) Amenity fee is very disappointing. We have stayed at the Swiss Chicago many times, and this is new. It was not explained to us at check-in, so understanding what value it adds, even after we asked for an explanation is not clear. I understand these types of fees are added at "resorts", but to add this to a downtown Chicago hotel seems extreme, and is disappointing.

The staff was amazing the hotel was beautiful great View love the fact that I didn't have to go far for food because there's a restaurant inside of the hotel and the fact that all I had to do was cross the street and I was at the Riverwalk it was amazing

My only compliant was the maid forgot to clean my room one day, but after calling in the evening, someone came to clean my room. Everything else was great as usual.
