I stay at the Swissotel on Wacker Drive annually for a conference. This hotel is well located, well-staffed, clean, and has all the amenities needed. This year the daily housekeeping was suspended during my stay due to COVID. When I needed new towels or bath products, I simply asked the lady cleaning the rooms and she provided me with what I requested. My one little dissatisfaction is that there isn't an ice machine on each floor.

Nice But Could Be Better

Though it was mentioned at check-in, there was no daily cleaning/refreshing of the rooms. At the rate of the cost of the rooms, this was a huge disappointment for me. I stayed at the Blake just days after, where the cleaning/refreshing was daily and the room was considerably cheaper. Below, I will check that I booked the room with a travel agent because I must make a selection. However, I booked all rooms for my school district attendees.

The location made it easy to explore downtown Chicago and the staff made it easy to find interesting places. In particular, I wanted to find a restaurant that I had read about and Bernard helped me track it down despite not knowing the name. We had a great night out thanks to the attentive staff.

As usual, my stay at the Swissotel was excellent. The staff was helpful and courteous starting with the bell hops and ending with my checkout. Due to COVID, cleaning wasn't done for short stays like mine. However, when I needed additional soap, I asked a maid in the hallway and she quickly gave me the soap I requested. I also called to check about checkout time and if my Accor # was associated with my stay. Once again, they were very professional. The only thing that bothered me was that there is a period from 10:30 to 11:30 am when food wasn't available in the 1st floor restaurant. Too late for breakfast and too early for lunch.

We loved the hotel but the parking wasn’t good. Too many people trying to park at the same time. We were arriving for a wedding but the check in went smoothly. I loved the views of Chicago. The rooms were clean and comfortable!

I loved our accommodations. Our room was lovely. My husband worked at the spacious table/desk all day while I attended a conference. The location is marvelous. I would definitely stay there again. It was also an easy drive from and to the expressway. Yay!

Raquel greeted me and was amazing the entire time I was there. Two gentlemen stood out, and I can't find their names for some reason...I wrote them down. One was an African American gentleman that had great designer glass frames. The other was a young African American bellman. Both were friendly, helpful and remembered me each time I ran into them. I travel regularly and know the challenges the hotels are experiencing. Getting coffee in the morning was slow, but I understand. My issue was that there was no way to get a croissant heated up without the gentleman going downstairs to do it. With the line, I would never ask him to do that. It made for a rather yucky breakfast. I couldn't eat any of the sandwiches for different reasons. My only other challenge was when I tried getting 2 separate bills because I was paying for two rooms. I needed to have them separated to make it easier to expense. The short version is, I didn't get what I needed. The gentleman was very nice, but couldn't seem to provide what I needed. In the end, I had to spend quite a bit of time submitting the reports in a way they would pay. I was there for EScrap. The staff in the exhibit hall were amazing. I'm a Titanium Marriott member and this was my first experience with your brand. I enjoyed it. Thank you for having such a great team. I ate at The Palm several times and the guys at the bar were incredible. Thank you... Karen

The view was astounding and the service was impeccable. The guy at the front desk (Keenan, I think) remembered my name and was very pleasant. But the sheet came up on the bed to reveal a filthy mattress underneath. That was pretty disconcerting, and made it difficult to sleep. But overall, I think this hotel is a great value and would stay there again.
