Entire experience at Raffles Hainan was unforgettable. Reception service was helpful, and concierge staff was attentive to deliver our luggage on timely. Breakfast was various with both western and Chinese. Thanks to Luigi who helped our baby to prepare congee in the morning therefore we don’t need to find by ourself.

« A good trip. »

In the process of going through formalities, I need to put my needs first. I changed my room twice in the middle of the process. Oliver showed us the room, helped me change my room, helped us prepare the crib and bedside for children, and also gave us welcome fruit. Although it was two apples, the gift was lighter than the affection. When Rida checked in and checked out again, she was busy and sent the children sunglasses, and brought us tea and drinks. Helloise and lnydi are both very good!

I was extremely happy when I stayed at raffles Hainan pool villa last year and thus it was easy to plan my second visit to raffles Hainan again. Everything was good and I satisfied with all the services offered. The restaurants were still great and the spa was also at high standard quality. I’ll definatey stay again soon. Thanks a lot. Interior design of rooms and public areas is quite sophisticated, a fusion of Balinese and Chinese styles. The property is surrounded by exotic vegetation so you get a tropical flair. Choice and quality of food during breakfast was excellent,  just a bit growded,  but this is understandable considering that we visited during school vacation season. Having more than one fresh juice (cucumber) and some fans outside would have been nice (as seats inside were limited and outside it was almost to hot to enjoy breakfast). The 170 m2 suite we got upgraded to (due to my membership status plus the kindness of the Raffles team; big thank you!) was stunning,  extremely big balcony with  amazing ocean view, 2 loungers,  a coach and a small dinning table. We loved the design of the specious living,  bed and bathroom. What else: 2 great pools close to the beach,  one big lagoon type of pool for children, and one where one can swim without being disrupted by playing kids,  so perfect for everyone. Loungers at the beach protected from direct sun with parasols; the sand is extremely fine. Food at the Italian restaurant excellent,  the Li Minority buffet dinner also delicious, with dishes typical for the very south of China. Cocktails at the long bar are excellent as well, bardender William did a great job (the famous Singapore Sling was actually invented at the longbar in Raffles Singapore, which I learned during this stay). Can definitely recommend this property.

it was smooth and relaxing. the staff were helpful and if they couldn't understand english they tried hard to, that's all one can ask of them. My mandarin is atrocious so I burdened them with english. the food at chinese restaurant was good , wee bit pricey for me. am just a humble uni teacher.

The property and the customer service was completely beyond my expectations. All the staffs were so attentive, courteous, welcoming. Wherever we were at within the property, everyone knew our room numbers and took such great care of me and my mom. You knew it was my birthday and decorated the villa with lovely roses. Very good staying. It was during New Year Holiday, but thankfully my room was upgraded. The room was quite spacious and provided everything we needed. The view from the balcony was amazing, and the glass window had a very good sound isolation. Besides, the breakfast was great, the menu changed everyday, and food was varied. I loved your SPA too, the service, massagist and environment were all satisfactory.

The hotel room is really big and the facilites are all good. Especially like the hotel garden which is also big and nice arranged. Service team is friendly and helpful. Just one minor improvement: It seems the service staff are not enough compared to the hotel scale. Especially during breakfast time, all staff are busy at the restaurant and it's difficult to find someone for support outside of the breakfast area...

« Lovely resort but service could be improved »

Really liked the resort and I would consider coming back. Service could have been improved. For example not cleaning our room when requested, forgetting one of our orders at the Chinese restaurant and a useless concierge, when trying to arrange a trip. However later our butler did a good job.

« a Raffles hotel without the Raffles experience »

We were looking for something remote with a beautiful beach away from the crowd. Normally the Raffles brand stands for high quality, but this resort does not meet that standard. The hardware of this resort was excellent, but the software overall is poor, not Raffles. For example: We ordered an afternoon tea after check in. On the menu, there was a list of different teas we could choose from, however non of them were in stock. Only green tea was available at that moment. According to the menu we could choose a fresh juice or a glass of sparkling wine next to the tea. "No sparkling wine", the waitress said! So we choose our juices. And again. some of the juices were not available. Anyway, after they brought us the tea we waited for more than 40 minutes for the sandwiches and the pastries. We ordered 2 different juices and they only brought us one. After I lost my patience I asked the waitresses how long I still have to wait. Truth was that we were totally forgotten. It was not busy at all at that moment. The lounge was quite empty. So after some apologies they brought us the the food. The food was really bad: dry sandwiches and pastries. It tasted liked leftovers from the breakfast. The price was around 300RMB. Not really expensive for a five star hotel but in this case it feels like someone was robbing me. In the evening we dine in resort's Chinese restaurant. The service here was much better than the afternoon tea we experienced that day, but the food does not meet our expectation. It tasted ok, but not worth the money. So we decided not to spent any money in the resort again. We stayed 3 nights and on the other nights we took a taxi to other places for diner (e.g. Intercontinental Haitang bay). During our stay we experienced that some of the personnel were trying to sell us the extras. Vey annoying: During check in, we were asked to upgrade our stay with lunch. During breakfast a personnel tried to sell us a hotpot diner in the restaurant. In the lobby we asked for a taxi to Haitang bay. One of the personnel (he looks like a senior porter or concierge, with black pants, white shirt and was dressed different than all the other porters at the entrance), told us not to use a normal taxi. Instead he can arrange something else for us. 150 RMB from Raffles to Duty free shopping mall in Haitang bay. I refused. After some negotiation he said it will be possible for 100 RMB. Come on! This is the Raffles, not a market! In the end we had no choice, because he convinced us there was no taxi. He tried to make clear that the black car service he recommended is not expensive, because a normal taxi rate for this distance will be more than 100 RMB. This is a lie. Our return in the night from the duty free mall back to the Raffles with a normal taxi was just 70 RMB. On our day of check out, we tried to outsmart this guy, we asked him to arrange a normal taxi for us for for 1 pm. We asked him at 11 am. Two hours in advance. But than he told us that a normal taxi will not have enough space for our luggages. Again he recommended his well known black car service wit a good price. Luckily one of the other porters was very helpful and friendly and told us he will call a normal taxi for us. We stayed at 4 different well known five stars resorts in Hainan and we never have to bargain for a taxi with a porter or a concierge. The Raffles is a exception. This guy needs to be fired! Not everything is bad at this hotel. Here are the good things about this place: -The house keeping was excellent! The presentation and how the room was made up at the day of check in was remarkable. It was a warm welcome. -We asked for a baby crib, but we found out the room comes with other amenities for our baby, like baby bath robe, baby shampoo, baby toothbrush and bath toys. My wife and I really like this. -The lady, who did our check out was really Raffles. Very friendly and helpful. -The staff at the swimming pool/beach was very kind and their service was great. -The resort is beautiful. Conclusion: a five star resort without the Raffles experience. I don't think I will come back to this resort in the near future.

unpleased reservation experience with hotel team, rate cannot be able to meet with A plus member satisfaction for single pax staying. reservation team hardly understood with providing ideally proposal to me only if multiple requests and then stubbornly, solved my tiny request. On arrival, my Hotel room was not ready due to i arrived nearly 1pm? However thanks for the upgrade. my room prepared with a plus amenities and thats nice, thanks. Hotel staff didnt greet guest when they saw me. the foreign staff needs to be really well trained with hotel information, buz she showed me wrong direction to hotel room when i lost in hotel garden and, walked far lot.

« Absolute holiday »

I cannot thank enough for everything from the airport pick up to airport sent off. I mean it was the best holiday. The butler service made everything easy and other staffs were also very friendly. Even if they didn’t speak English, they tried to sort things out and I felt that. The facilities were great. The villa and the pool were more than amazing and I loved it. And just walking around the resort was also special. The atmosphere was fantastic, I was completely relaxed. For the management, I could see the resort was fully maintained as I saw many of management crews while my staying. The restaurants, I tried breakfast, Desa and Sapori. They were all good and mangers/staffs were again there for help and I was always welcomed. Especially, Sapori! I loved the place and food offered were exactly what I was expect. Well, all I want to say is I’m definitely wanting to come back soon and Raffles Hainan is now what I love. Only thing I missed was the SPA, I didn’t have time for it because there were so many things to do, so hopefully I can try the spa for my next visit. Thank you for everything. I trusted the name, Raffles, with my experience from Raffles Dubai and I was offered high class service as expected.

First of all, big thank you to Mr Chidiac to organized the late check out for us and I certainly appreciate the room upgrade. I guest during our stay it was low season after national day golden week, we enjoyed very much the undisturbed beach, spacious room and beautiful pool. We had tried Sapori restaurant, authentic Italian and nice chat with the manager Ms Rose. Overall everything is perfect, top of the line service, comparing resorts in Yalong Bay or Haitang Bay, I certainly will choose Raffles again.
