All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially our room staff, the front desk staff and the lovely café girls who made our latté's. The overall hotel is getting old and needs some updating but would not stop us from returning.

« Beautiful water front hotel. »

Loved the hotel grounds, the waterfront was nice. The restaurants we're decent, high-end prices. But enjoying a snack and drinks outside with a hookah was definitely the thing to do.

The receptionists are neglecting the calls from clients and not doing their job in 5stars way. Cafe in FF has very high menu prices. Other thing were cool.

« Used to be a fantastic hotel but standards & service have slipped »

We are frequent guests of this hotel - about 8 visits now. Over the years we have noticed a slip in service & standards . This stay we have a few issues...most of which were resolved but still not good that we had to complain 1) The TV in our room had a fault and it took 6 days to get it replaced. It was viewable but not ideal. 2) Initially housekeeping did not bring back the Fairmont Fit Kit back daily as requested 3) We had no bottled water in our room for 3 days and we had to request it 4) Our cold water failed, I was showering at the time and the water was very hot/scalding. 5) We used the new VOLT gym and I was told I could not wear the gym tops I had packed as they did not have sleeves....so we got a taxi to the Yas mall and I had to purchase 3 sleeved tops - total cost about 300 dirhams. Later on in the week I seen people in the same gym without sleeves and was told the dress code had changed. I know this is not your fault but still costly & annoying. maybe if you have let us know in advance of the new gym & its dress code I would have packed the right clothes and saved money. (We always use the gym every day and this should be on our record) 6) Our room had a complete power failure and the engineer had to be called out. 7) We were gold guest but on the 6th not 7th floor, we therefore did not use the extra facilities of the guest lounge as it was not very convenient 8) Would recommend you actually heat the swimming pool as it was too cold to use. Very few people were in it and that is why!

« Amazing »

The whole stay was absolutely amazing. Every member of staff was so attentive and helped us out at every moment. The food was delicious at breakfast and the evening buffet with lots of variety. We had half board and the only issue we did find was that no drinks were included in that package for the buffet dining, not even water. Which we found quite odd. The room we booked had a lovely view of the beach and the Grand Mosque. The size of the room was great for a couple and a baby that loves to crawl. The hotel provided free food for the baby which was a great benefit. They made lovely vege purees for him too. Before arriving I was in contact with Farida who was amazing at answering all the questions I had. This was the first time we were traveling long haul with a baby and was a very nervous mum, but Farida gave lots of reassurance. She had also booked our transport from and to the hotel and made sure that the vehicle had a car seat for our baby. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to a few locations around Abu Dhabi and even here they had provided a car seat which was great as our baby never likes to sit still in the car. The other bonus with the hotel was that they had a newly built play area for babies / kids which our baby loved and the staff were really sweet with him too.

Great staff and service. The gold package is definitely worth it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be the cleanliness of the rooms and the windows plus the disadvantage of not having a balcony nor a rooftop venue.

« Very good except for excessive noise in relation to concert on Friday 13 December evening »

Very good - excessive noise on evening of Friday 13 December led to complaint and having to be moved to another room. Perhaps be aware of corporate event taking place and noise that they generate and in turn adverse effects on guests. Food, service and general ambience of hotel were very good.
