The hotel looked really lovely, but overall the experience was disappointing for us. I think we’ll be sticking to travelodge and premier inn from now on! On arrival the reception is modern, clean and well decorated with modern digital screens with information and it really set our expectations high for the rest of our stay, however once in our room it seemed it was all very much for show and the actual hotel itself could do with some work. On arrival to our room the heating was on full blast and all the windows closed, while it was October the weather was still 17/18 degrees that day and really didn’t warrant the added heat. We managed to turn off the radiator and open the small windows, which I appreciate due to health and safety have to only open a small distance but this was frustrating when the room was so hot. Our bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but I was excited to see there was a bath, the perfect place for a little relax and pamper ahead of the wedding we were attending the next day after a day of long travel. I gave it a little rinse and wipe down with some tissue to remove some small black curly hairs and dust. The pop up plug wasn’t sat in the drain as it should have been, it was left on the side of the bath, so I popped it back in and ran some water to test if it still worked, all looked good so I went ahead with running a full bath and got in to relax. Sadly a few minutes into the bath I noticed half the water had disappeared. The plug wasn’t holding the water at all! So out I got a little disappointed but never mind. I decided to try a shower instead. For such a nice hotel I expected something a bit nicer than a mixer tap shower head but a warm shower is better than nothing, the only problem being I had to duck under the water to cover my head as it wouldn’t sit high enough to stand under comfortably, mixed with the fact that the water then seemed to get everywhere in the bathroom and I had to spend my time after using the few tiny towels available to mop it all up. There definitely wasn’t enough towels for two people! Let alone two people who also had to mop up half the shower water due to insufficient shower screens. I gave up with the bathroom facilities after that point. Time for bed! There was only two pillows on the double bed but we did find two more in the wardrobe. I’m sure I’ve seen pieces of paper thicker than these pillows and we both woke up the next day with really sore necks - the bed was also quite firm which I didn’t mind but my partner found very uncomfortable. Surely breakfast could cheer us up, the selection seemed ok but the food had certainly been left out for quite some time (we ate at 8am) under heat lamps and with current COVID levels I was surprised to see it all self service still. I tried the hot drinks machine but when selecting hot chocolate was only presented with some yellow tinged hot water so we once again left slightly disappointed. Other things that were frustrating included a lack of light above the desk area so if you’re using the small mirror there for hair etc. You can’t see very well. The lock on the inside of our door didn’t work so there was no way to secure the room when you were in it - I appreciate they’re card activated from the outside but usually in hotel rooms I like the security of being able to then bolt from the inside while showering or sleeping. And while I appreciate it’s unavoidable our room was right above the entrance to the hotel so sleeping with the windows open we were woken by other guests talking loudly outside quite regularly. There were several dirty marks and areas of damage on the walls, it all just really needs a bit of TLC. I was so glad we’d only booked for two nights and very eager to get home, while I’m a big fan of home it’s not often I’m excited to leave our hotel. I think from now on we’ll stick to travelodge where prices are slightly better and the facilities do exactly what they say on the tin. It seems this hotel have tried to dress up as something fancy without having the facilities to support that. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any friends. The only redeeming thing was the staff on the front desk were friendly and helpful with information on arrival however it would have been nice to have a copy of that information all in the room again with regards to meal times, maybe even a menu etc. So that we could have a better look once we’d got our bags in and sat down.

I stayed for 3 nights . First in room 4 . This room is dark and although a good size in need of work and an update . Also on main road so a bit noisy . Shower did not work at all sprayed the whole room but not me , water everywhere . Obviously not a new problem as water stains on the floor where water had gathered before . I asked to change rooms and this was done without issue . Room 107 was much better , shower worked and it was much more peaceful .

We stayed for 1 night and found the hotel to be comfortable for our needs. Welcoming helpful staff at reception. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar in the evening and also found a good selection of food at breakfast which was served within a cosy restaurant area. Really nice seating out area although too cold on the day for us. Only downside was it was quite difficult to control the temperature of the shower and the carpet was a little grubby in the bedroom (could do with a spot clean in places) but didn’t affect our stay which we really enjoyed.

The hotel was comfortable and mostly reflected its advertised look. There was a slightly strange experience around booking where upon arrival we were asked to pay for our room despite on two previous occasions having given our account details. However we were not overcharged, perhaps just worth telling customers if there card is not to be charged to avoid confusion.

Very welcoming, I have stayed in various places lately and felt it could have been cleaners due to Covid in mind. (basin/taps in our bed room. Coffee machine at breakfast, hand sanitiser not working in main area.) Great we helped ourself to breakfast first morning and for mass catering buffet style the scambled eggs was excellent. Second morning waitress serves not all that was ordered arrived on the plate and the scrambled egg was inedible having had a false start with ordering kippers to be told 5 mins later they didn't have any!

We checked in for an overnight en route from Yorkshire to Sussex, and were greeted by terrific staff who helped us secure our two mountain bikes and directed us to Thame for a bit of sightseeing. The room was comfortable, quiet and spacious; the bed comfortable and huge. One minor issue: surging hot water in the shower presented a bit of lobster treatment on my unsuspecting backside, which I suppose could have turned out far worse had I been facing the opposite direction.

Disappointing in arrival into our room as extra bed was up but duvet thrown on chair, no cover, pillow case and 3 people in the room but only one bath and one hand towel, when I found a housekeeper it was put right within about half hour.

Wedding stop over , great venue for a Friday wedding , bar staff great and breakfast in the morning was a much needed item, which was plentiful and tasted good. Only shame was traffic noise during the early hours of the morning.

We had a pleasant three nights stay. The hotel is very well run and very well presented. The staff throughout are exceptionally good. There is a welcoming bar, and a very pleasant restaurant. Easy parking and excellent wifi. Breakfast is an extensive buffet. Easy to find this hotel, it's just a couple of minutes off junction 6 of the M40, right on the corner of the A40.

Located a short distance from Oxford ... but (1) the room telephone did not work, (2) there were insufficient coat hangers in the room (3 and 1 was broken, (3) the carpet was badly stained, (4) we did not dare pull up a crumpled rug for fear of what we. Ugh the discover and (5) ironing board cover was stained. All these matters could easily have been resolved to present a pleasant spacious room. I have the feeling that there were too few staff. But those we encountered were very pleasant. Might go again if they got their act together!

An excellently presented four star. The common parts and lawned areas are quite lovely. Excellent outdoor dining space. A pleasant restaurant where we enjoyed good buffet breakfasts and pleasant suppers. A welcoming bar. Our room upgrade was greatly appreciated. The staff throughout are exceptionally good. Sadly, our stay was badly marred by the complete failure of hot water in room 117 on our final. We were unable to bathe.

Overall very good but the break fast was a great disappointment. Sausages were pale and sipid, bacon no better... Not sure it had seen any heat, quite bad coffee.. The two premier Inn stays I had on the same trip were superb, think chef needs to make alot more effort.
