I booked the valentines night with the Jersey boys for my wife and I. I was not told I would be sharing a table with 8 other people who I didn't know. Even though we ordered the food from the set menu well in advance as requested my wife's food was not cooked as ordered and we were told we would have to wait until all of the other food was served before it could be sorted. On more than one occasion the person taking my drinks order at the bar stopped serving me and started serving food with no explanation

Waited 20 minutes to get a drink. Wanted a Pate starter but told couldn’t have it as was eating in the bar, not on the bar menu only in the restaurant. Waited 30 mins for the meal and had to ask for the pudding.

Room was comfortable, comfy bed and plenty of space - upgraded from what I booked at no cost. Had the carvery for Sunday lunch - very enjoyable. Had breakfast included and had the buffet though there were options for other things like an omelette had i wanted one. All was fine. The hotel is a short distance from the M40 so after checkout I was on the motorway within 5 minutes.

Easy check in friendly helpful staff especially Peter serving in the restaurant when he was obviously short of staff but coped extremely well. Food was good. Room was excellent apart from cups for tea and coffee not cleaned and tissues in bathroom empty when we arrived and empty when we left.

The room was great - modern and clean and comfortable. Good value and friendly staff. The rooms are all accessed outside from a courtyard so they are removed from the noise of the hotel and very quiet.

I booked two rooms for our family visit. There was difficulty in checking in online via the email and app but going via the web site was ok. The staff were excellent and the breakfast buffet very adequate. The room was very clean and the extra bed was fitted as requested.

« Great hotel for pet lovers! »

Easy to find just off the M40. Convenient for us visiting family in the area. Reception staff (Evie) great manner. Evie moved us to a better room on the ground floor for our 4th month old puppy for easier access to courtyard and outside, on Marius advice. She explained the £25 fee for having dog with us, which she said should have been advised. Room was lovely and spacious but obviously a dog room so we expected carpet with a few stains, maybe Accor should consider lino floors (less slippery than wood) for their dog rooms; easier to clean. Our well house trained puppy had newspaper down in the tiled floor in the bathroom in case of accidents but she was good and no "accidents". We also when ever staying at hotel with dog (previously a Great Dane) always bring sheets for the carpets and spare duvet for the bed. Liked it so much if family hosting next year will stay here. 10/10 for all the staff. Thank you.

I have stayed at The Lambert Arms a lot over the last few years and the service is always excellent, the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive and always make me feel very welcome. The rooms are nice, the breakfast and restaurant food is great and always consistently very good. Only small criticism I would have and it is only a few small things - the bathrooms could do with a paint touch up and one 4 slice toaster at breakfast is not ideal when it is busy. Only small things though - otherwise really good.

« Lovely hotel »

Hotel was lovely staff were ok breakfast was awful both times was no bacon sausage or egg one guest ask why it took so long the restaurant manager shouted at him saying 30 people have just come at once well my husband has been a hotel manager and had to feed 120 people every day surely he knew how many people would be having breakfast and as for the chef eggs where under cooked i have never seen scramble eggs runny and raw and the sausage room was clean put my hand window ledge and it was really dirty

The room was clean and spacious and very comfortable. The evening meal was delicious and the service was great. However breakfast was unfortunately cold as someone had switched off the warming pan. Once realised customers should of been offered a hot cooked breakfast but we weren’t we had to ask for the food to be microwaved which spoiled it.

« Nice stay, lovely staff, dire heating. »

I had a nice stay and found the staff to be excellent. I remember Vlad being most helpful at breakfast. My concern about the room (220) was that the heating in the room was dire. It was so poor that there was an extra heater, which ran off a plug, to heat the room. I was also surprised that the wallpaper in the bathroom was starting to peel and that there was a massive mark on the toilet lid left behind by I guess gaffa tape - which I was surprised had not been cleaned off the toilet lid. I would be interested in knowing if these negative points are common within this hotel. If it was not for the excellent staff and comfy bed I would have rated this as a 6. If the heater work better it would have been a 9.
