Stayed at the beginning and end of our trip due to close proximity to port. Quick, efficient check in and check out. Pleasant staff. Convenient parking. Room good first night. Very noisy second night.

We had a great one night stay in a family suite after coming in on a late flight. The rooms were huge, spotlessly clean and the beds were blissfully comfortable. I was able to find duvets for us during the night very easily in the walk in wardrobe, and althought breakfast was a bit challenging for the hotel under the current circumstances as all businesses adapt to the new normal, everything was great and the staff were fanastic. We come to Crete a few times a year, and will definitely book here again next time we arrive late in Heraklion. Great central location.

The hotel apartment and other facilities were modern, clean and generally effective. The breakfast and bar were pleasant but relatively free of 'character'. We arrived by taxi which was under pressure to deposit us and our luggage (problems of traffic in a highly used one-way street) and we then had to work how to take take our heavy luggage (by escalator) up to the check-in - a rather stressful start. The check-in was friendly as were most interactions during our stay. We found the room adequate and reasonably well equipped; we assume that the absence of (for example) a kettle was for reasons of Covid. We were generally satisfied with our 2 stays at the hotel, but had the following problems: 1. When we arrived we were given a 'free drink' voucher and were told we could use it every day. We included that in our planning but unfortunately on our chosen day the bar, for whatever reason, was closed. 2. We could see that protection against Covid was an important thing for the hotel. For example staff were wearing masks and disinfectant was always available for our hands. However, at breakfast, in a closed area, although many of the things to eat were wrapped, we were the only people to be wearing masks and there was no instructions/advice for others to do so. 3. On our second stay at the hotel (for 2 nights), we once again, asked for our room to be cleaned on the day after our arrival. For whatever reason the room was not cleaned. However, despite these problems the stay at Ibis Styles was pleasant and supported by a pleasant interaction with the staff. An additional point is that to help the clients you might consider having available a balance to weigh suitcases. After a holiday one often has additional weight in the cases because of things bought at the local shops. It would be helpful (as was the situation for us) if one could check whether the additional weight might cause a problem for check-in at the airport.

It is true that we have tried a lot to follow all the necessary measures towards Covid-19 and thank you for recognizing it. The reason why the guests were not wearing a mask in the restaurant is because it is not a necessary measure according to the Greek government. As for the night you tried to have your first drink the timetable changed exceptionally that day during to an emergency. We are happy that you enjoyed your drink the other day and we apologize once more for this sudden change. I have been staying at this hotel since it first opened and it used to be my favourite hotel in Heraklion and the best Ibis I'd ever stayed in. However, during my last two stays I have noticed that some things are not as good as they used to be. Standards are slipping and this is a shame. 1. The room was not as clean as it should be, the shower was grubby (needs a deep clean). 2. The balcony was not clean, some dirt and small pieces of broken glass. 3. At breakfast there is now only one small toaster for two slices of bread, this is not sufficient for the numbers of guests. 4. I think you changed the pillows in late 2019? The old pillows were so comfortable. The new pillows are not as good quality and not as comfortable. 5. I understand in winter that you set the room heating but guests should have some control over this, on a warm day the room is stuffy and too hot and I couldn't open the window because of the noise from the bars at the back of the hotel. 6. There were some tea stains and scuff marks on the wall, regular checks by maintenance should ensure that any little problems like this are rectified. Please don't let standards slip any further. It's such a nice hotel but some things need looking at.
