Unfortunately a management decision to cancel HBO movies has impacted on my decision to stay at this hotel. As a English speaking foreigner I prefer to watch a good movie than just international news.

- This hotel changed the name from Pullman to Mercure few years back. after that the service level and general hotel feeling has been decreased. I gave my feedback before and got the promise to improve it. however I couldn't recognize any improvement on that. The location is quite convenient.

The location of the hotel is good while not excellent. It is a 10 minutes walk from any subway station. The hotel is located right at a famous shopping mall and walking distance to many nice restaurants. The Century Park is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The front desk staffs were helpful and professional. Very willing to help. The room was big and clean, tidy and well maintained. Very quiet room because of the good shielding windows though the hotel is quite close to the main roads. Breakfast was as good as usual. No surprise with a high end restaurant. Coffee was not attractive, though. Highly recommended for staying in Shanghai, particularity for those trekking and jogging lovers.

I had an issue where the power to the door stopped working. The manager immediately tried to fix the problem, but could not. He immediately upgraded my room and I was able to get good rest.

There are a few things I cannot help but complain about my stay. 1. What is wrong with the interior design of the hotel? Officially, Grand Mercure in China claims to be a blend of French and Chinese cultures. Honestly I am seeing neither of the two. The hotel as a whole feels like a business-friendly hotel remodeled for the city youth with a notoriously poor aesthetics. Worse still, the remodel is not complete and remains a mixture of both. I don't have time to explain the details but anyone slightly familiar with interior design would see my point after an in-person visit of the hotel. 2. What's wrong with the maintenance? So many things in my room are broken, including but not limited to one outlet and the main phone.

The room was quite clean except for the leak between the toilet and the shower room. After every shower the toilet floor is very wet, the water make the marble floor very slippery, I nearly slipped and fell a couple of times.

We stayed in room 716. The room temperature is too high (26 degree which can’t be adjusted) and the hotel couldn’t do anything but asked us to open the window. The quilt is too thick to suit this hot temperature. Didn’t sleep well, very bad experience.

This is the 1st time I saw a service robot working, impressed. The location is very close to Yu Yuan. The room is spacious. Walking distance to all the attractions.

Un-satisfied. As a platinum member, I have to ask when I checked in: 1. early check-in and late check-out 2. welcome drink Lounge was closed, but lobby bar could not provide the equivalent services from lounge.

I have used this hotel for more than 10 years and generally are happy with it. However there seems to be a drop in standards since it ceased to be Radisson. I always use the Club lounge and was surprised that cheese was provided but no bread. I believe you are now French owned; there would have been a riot if you did that in France!

The Grand Mercure is a really nice business hotel with a friendly and competent staff ... rooms a bright, clean and modern with a great view of Shanghai Skyline There are a lot of nice restaurants and pubs quite around the corner and the area is close to downtown as well as close to the airport

Refurbished Rooms looking good - But still many things to do !

The new refurbished rooms are much nicer than the old ones. Everything looks more tidier, functional and better placed than before. Also the new sockets incl. USB. A bit disapointing that nothing was done at the bathrooms, they still looking outdated and having a lot of small quirks and defects. The range and selevtion of food in Club Lounge must still be improved. Other Accor Hotels offers a far better selection and food quality. However the staff in Lounge (Ella Lu and Lilly) ar still the most professional staff you can have. They are doing a very very good job! One of the reasons for coming back again and again! The front desk at ground floor desperately need a renovation. First impression of guests when entering a hotel. Furnitures falling apart :-) doesn'1t look that nice.
