A short stay so that I could visit Kenilworth and Warwick so perfectly positioned. Staff friendly and room immaculately clean. Odd things that could be improved - decent toilet paper for example! And some of the carpeting and paint work around the hotel needs a touch up. Furnishings though were oristine

The hotel is much improved from its condition and comfort under a previous owner. The room was especially spacious, with a very comfortable bed. We only took breakfast, but that was good, if a little too much to eat! It will be good when the buffet returns.

A nice hotel that seems to be in the process of being updated. Some aspects look a bit tired but others are much better. So for example the curtains in our room didn’t meet and the heater/air conditioning unit was noisy, but the overall decor was good and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was fine overall but the coffee was poor. All the staff were excellent - really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I complained both at the property and again via email when I returned about the terrible standard of your hotel, your lack lustre security and the attitude of your staff. I was promised a follow up which has never come, so I can only assume you really don't care. Awful customer service, I would advise not staying at this run down hotel.

On arrival no one at reception desk.After leaving our bags in our room we went to the bar .We had to ring reception to get someone to serve us. The same man who earlier booked us in . Not enough staff on duty and this was 1930 hrs.

I have emailed over a complaint regarding Mr B. stay at your hotel. I have still yet to have a response. Mr B. only managed to stay the 1 night out of 4 due to the state of the hotel. I have ask for a refund on this matter as we paid for 4 nights dinner bed and breakfast.

« Good location but bedrooms need refurb »

Reception staff friendly and efficient. My room faced the road and I experienced a lot of traffic noise. Curtains were very thin and need to be thicker to block out the light. Bathroom needs to be refurbished. Hot water took a very long time to come through.

« Comfortable stay and a great nights sleep »

This hotel is set in a lovely rural location not very far from Solihull. Staff were pleasant and the reception/bar area was very nice. Some areas need a bit of TLC but a big plus for me was lovely fluffy white towels and a quiet location - lovely.

« Good, except for the food »

The roast chicken was inedible. Warmed up, but only slightly ( twice) which is sometimes the cause of salmonella, and it was like shoe leather- too tough to cut or chew. This was a shame as a previous stay most enjoyable.

« Poor alround »

Sunday arrived and had to change rooms as radiator did not work. Monday, cold shower as boiler had tripped out. Tuesday, had to break down my own door as the locking plate was stopping the door from opening. Wednesday, again cold showing thin the morning and 2 bulbs popped in the bathroom, also fault lock not fixed. Thursday checked out a day early, and no moneys was removed from bill for my poor experience. The lowest standard Mercure hotel I have ever stayed in.

« another stay in the weirdest Accor »

Its a weekend so i know its going to be deserted. I assume this place only survives with the weekday corporate conference crowd and the odd weekend wedding. Certainly been these at both times. But its just ... weird. Place was pretty deserted, both customer and staff wise. When a member of staff turned up to check me in they confirmed that it was very nearly empty. But of course I still get a room down this corridor, then that, a long way from reception. Then when wanting to reserve a table for dinner am told bar and kitchen shut. Not much of an apology and no reason given. I have to prompt for suggestions of where to go. I can guess its cheaper to close and send staff home than cater for 3 people (there was a couple also surprised by the hotel with nowhere to eat or drink. Morning not much different, pretty deserted just cleaning staff although that's a positive, its always a clean hotel and well maintained, even if the bar and restaurant decor is a bit ott. Now I've put some effort into finding places to eat I shall carry on staying bt it is just... weird. I get the same from my staff who also stay here.

Overall good, staff welcoming. Good size bedroom, comfortable bed, clean in bedroom and ensuite. The main concern, very cool shower at approx 8 am on a Sunday which was the same with other guests. Pleased to get back to my own Shower. Breakfast was adequate, food may have been put out some time before we were down before 9am.

I have been staying at this hotel frequently over the past few months, it is very well placed for one of my work locations. It's fair to say I've had a few issues which have been captured on other reviews. However my more recent stays have been trouble free and I think it's right to mention that Emma and the team have worked hard to put things right hence my score. Ultimately price of hotel is very competitive with a nice non city centre location.
