Nice location in Recife with view on the beach. Helpful staff at the reception. Bikes to barrow if you're an Accor member. Rooms are large but run down and not sound proof. Furniture is quite minimalist. Breakfast is good.

The great benefit of this hotel is the location close to the (long but slim city-beach, just across the street) and the nice view of the front side apartments to the sea (Only these rooms seem having a nice view!). The breakfast is diverse and ok, except the very low-quality café. I had two apartments (one after the other, because the first one was spoiled by water/dirt after a damage of one of the water/drainage tubes). Both rooms were not well cleaned, hairs on the floor, dirt in the corners, etc. Both rooms had issues of bad or poor maintenance. Both rooms had an unpleasant and uncomfortable light system, with no major light in the bedroom and no main switch for all lights. The rooms are equipped with the most necessary and are far from representing a cozy atmosphere. The "entrance room" to the sleeping room in the apartment is dark, unfriendly and actually does not invite for being used. In total my worst Accor/Mercure hotel experience.

« Pack a lot of patience... »

... and make sure you accept only one of their newest rooms: after booking a superior room for 6 nights directly through the Accor web page, I arrived and was allocated a room which surely must have been from the 1970s/80s. When I asked for a different room, I was very kindly given a room that was from the beginning of this millenium, but sitting right on top of their central generator. The last change then got me to a very nice, brand new room and it felt like I was in a different hotel. Thank you, Rafael at reception! He was also the man to finally solve the air conditioning issue (it worked after a technical guy spent 15 minutes on it, but was still noisy) in the room, after I had previously asked room service and reception for help, without any results. Apart from patience, you also need to speak Portuguese or be very lucky to find one Spanish or maybe even an English speaker at reception. However, if you call room service, you get to talk to a lovely lady with fluent English... The points given below mirror this very mixed expereince, not the last room I stayed in. Breakfast has a lot of choices and of course the location of the hotel is super!

« Good value for the money »

This hotel is being refurbished. It is transitioning to a different brand, which is Grand Mercure - the former one was called AccorHotels if I'm not mistaken. The staff is helpful and attentive. Among the facilities you'll find a sauna, spa with jacuzzi( additional charge) and a decent swimming pool. The breakfast is full of delicious food with a wide range of options. I would return to this hotel if I'd pay the same amount as I did before - between r$ 150- R$ 170. The hotel is still a bit old, you can tell by the smell of the room. The bed isn't king size, the one I stayed in was a queen one. So it isn't worth more than it. At least, in my point of view.

Dirty rooms. There's no light. AC doesn't work. The card reader in my door run out of battery and it took one hour to fix it. How this could be a grand Mercure?

« The worst Room »

The Room is a shame, very old furniture. The windows are not closing so there is not isolation. The shower curtain was dirty and smelling like fungus. Very bad experience I will not recommend this hotel The Mercure hotels has similar standards around the world but this one is not a he case Really shocking

« Good Option in Boa Viagem »

Personnel at front desk are excellent, accommodating all needs. Room had a few problems: Toilet seat had outer ring 1" smaller than the inner ring of toilet; Glass door of shower broken. This led to another problem. I checked in around 2 pm, and went straight for a nap. Around 4 pm four people entered the room with their key and when realized the room was occupied turned around and shut the door. Next, knocked and when I opened I saw them carrying this huge piece of tempered glass for the shower. They asked whether they could enter to install it. This is just not appropriate. That's not why someone pays for a room, to be disturbed and asked whether workers could do a maintenance. Of course, I responded "no, there are people sleeping in the room" and they left for good. Except these specific issues, the room was great, breakfast excellent, all clean and comfy.

Very good location, with a lot of facilites around. Rooms are cleaned every day, there are 3 elevators, pool for Kids, good wi-fi internet, and has a great room service. The breakfast has many varieties of food. The crew was attempt for my requests.

« Good location »

We only stayed for one night after flying from Rio, but we enjoyed our brief stay. It is only a short taxi ride from the airport. Our check in at 1am was smooth and the two young men at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the beach. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

An average Grand Mercure, however, we found other hotel brands in Brazil were also not as good as the same brand hotels in other countries we have visited in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Parking in the hotel carpark was limited, however, the staff were helpful to move cars and find us a spot. There was no safety latch / chain on the room door, as was the case with the Grand Mercure in Rio. Holiday Inn, Novotel and Mercure in other cities we stayed had safety latches. Buffet breakfast was reasonable.

Good installations , the breakfast is the best ( fantastic i will never forget the tapioca ). I was in vacation with my wife and my little baby and everything was very good , although this hotel is better for people in business travel

« NOISY HOTEL !! I COUDN'T SLEEP ! »

Very good and well located But with a terrible problem because the doors are knocking all the nigh and i and my nephew could't seep !!! I think it's not so difficult neither complicated to repair that awful situation !!! ... During the weekend it's impossible to sleep there !! ... so , i needed to buy the hears plug !! PLEASE TAKE CARE ABOUT IT !! Thank You .

The check-in experience was very disappointing. We arrived in the early afternoon and waited a very long time and when we were finally served, we were rushed through and provided no explanation about the hotel amenities or breakfast. We were told our room key couldn't be issued and then were taken to our room, where a hotel staff member opened the door (but couldn't leave us with a key). We had to return to the front desk several hours later to get a key. But that took a lot of explaining to the (different) front desk person.The room was dated and in need of some fresh paint and decor. The hotel is certainly not at 4-star level. I would say it's close to most 3-star hotels I've stayed in South America. Ibis hotels in this area were better.The hotel does have an excellent location.The breakfast was also very good.

I was very disappointed with the hotel. It is very old. We stayed in a luxury room, but the extra room was not useful because of the architecture. Also, the check-in process took so long. We had also requested a crib, but it was not ready when we arrived. I had to call 3 times to get the crib. On the good side, the breakfast is very good.

« The good the bad and the ugliest »

The only thing good going for this Hotels is the location, bad service is predominantly obvious, the ugliest rooms, that’s have not been updated for the las 25 year, A/C never work, had to get a flor fan, on top of this, no amenities at all, no coffee machine no kettlewoter.

« A stones throw from the beach »

I got a room with a view. I think the ones ending with 01 and 02 are the ones facing the beach. The hotel feels grand and old . It has clean and spacious rooms , a nice spread of breakfast. The staff are efficient and courteous. All in all a very satisfied customer We had a 4 day stay In Recife and the city is beautiful and the beaches are amazing. I would definitely come back to this wonderful city one day
