Beautiful hotel with an ideal location next to the train station. The room is an extremely spacious with an aesthetically pleasing design, smartly located outlets, and USB ports on both sides of the bed. The room had a refrigerator, kettle, and hair dryer. The bed was very firm and had four pillows with two firm and two soft. The bathroom was modern and clean. The one bathroom door rotated to cover the toilet area and moved to cover the entire bathroom area. The door to the bathroom was tinted glass and lacked 100% privacy depending on what lights you had turned on. I found the location of the overhead lighting over the bathroom mirror and room full length mirror to cast shadows for those who apply cosmetics. We did use the infrared sauna that was pleasant. The hot tub was more of a jetted part of the pool and not a jacuzzi level hot tub. You could order items for the room (toilet paper, food, towels) through texting or the hotel website. While it did not work one time during our visit and had to follow up later with the staff. Overall, the staff was very helpful and professional.

The room is clean tidy and well presented. It would be nice though if a little more thought had been spent on a few items, the flat bed sheets dont fit the beds, the coffee machine and kettle cant be refilled under the tap in the sink and the shower soaks the floor. as it only has a half door. It's a nice touch to have bath robes but if your a large person and I'm not on about obese they are on the small size. If you are in need of a gluten free diet the breakfast range is great, just be careful of the tongs as other guests can make them cross contaminated very easily and the evening choices are very limited

Although only booked for an overnight stay (to meet family for my birthday), we had been attempting to stay earlier in the Covid outbreak for a longer visit, but were forced to cancel. We were really glad to visit finally, as the whole experience from reception to departure was practically faultless. The staff were impeccable.

It was nice to stay at the hotel, especially to enjoy spa after flight. We lacked a bit of oxigen, though, as hotel is built of modern, syntetic materials and air is a bit too dry. Great breakfast, only coffee could have been stronger, more Italian style. Otherwise - convenient bus traffic to the centre of Cambridge & super convenient train logistics to Ely or London.

Had executive room which was lovely and shower was excellent with a great tv, sound system and air con but no room service and only water in the fridge was a bit disappointing.

Very convenient for travel by train. Beds comfortable and clean room with amenities. Tea and coffee tray well stocked - a biscuit or two would have been appreciated. The pool area was very nice. Hotel had quite a few families staying so assume it suited everyone. The staff were helpful and pleasant.

The stay was good except for the fire alarm going off multiple times on first night. This meant we had very little sleep, but the staff were helpful and refunded the cost. The pool facilities were also very nice but always busy. A suggestion would be to maybe have some adult only swimming hours

Really lovely hotel, great rooms, great breakfast. Staff member on arrival was so rude. We had called ahead to say we would be exceptionally late (about 01:30) got there at 02:20 and he told us we couldn’t check in. We explained we had said we would be very late. He then did check us in after some arguing and processed payment. He didn’t give a card receipt. When checking out I was told I hadn’t paid. We then had to spend 10 mins proving we had paid.

I can assure you that this is a unique situation and will be following up with my team on the correct procedure. I have reviewed our system and at the time of the your arrival they could not do a physical check in as the system was at the time running our end of day procedures and it is not possible to do the check in at that time and it does take up to 45 mins from the start of the procedure which we run every evening. I appreciate that this is inconvenient but it is part of our process as a business and certainly the team could have handled it better. Good rooms poor checkout rude staff

Ridiculously slow checkout and then my colleague was blamed by a snotty manager he was holding up the queue. Beds we good and so was the room. Small food menu and dry chicken. Unlikely we would stay again for the money.

Disappointed with rude comment when checking out

The hotel was very nice as a whole, but was spoiled when checking out. I asked for a printed receipt and was told I can only have one emailed, so I asked for this, but wanted it sent while I was still there to ensure I had received it. This is important as I need to claim through company expenses and they require an invoice for proof. Due to system slowness this was taking a while and a little queue had developed (2 people, one of which was my colleague). Another member of staff then came to assist and blamed me for causing a queue due to my request and rudely told me my invoice would be sent to me later. I told him I wanted it now due to previous issues with other hotels in the past. He then huffed and went about his business and started serving another person. I found this attitude to be unacceptable due to an issue with your system being very slow, for a simple request that ask from every other hotel without any issue.

Disappointing stay

We was looking forward to returning to Novotel Cambridge for some respite. Unfortunately the first night we barely slept as the fire alarm went off 4 times every two hours from 12:40am. We had to evacuate and there was no leadership from a fire Marshall half of the hotel stayed in the reception as it was cold outside. This ruin our day out in cambridge as we were very tired and missed our morning activity. On the second night the was a party 2 floors down keeping us up, no towels on arrival, cold pool and jacuzzi. We really come away more tired than we went.
