We have stayed a few times now including last years NYE. We had not been since renovations. what a pleasant surprise especially the Glasshouse. big lift. plus the outside breakfast area. Rezz is always polite and welcoming as are reception staff. Annabel in the bar very customer service driven. the only disappointments, I had to send my fillet stake back overcooked from order medium rare beans overcooked. No matter how busy no excuses if a well run kitchen. at about 11.00pm we fancied IRISH and ROMAN coffees. the cafe machine had closed down and washed. Really? how about telling customers to take last orders, the Glasshouse is a restaurant style area. the DJ music was most befitting the area. over all we congratulate you on the improvements made and staff attitudes.

I realise at the moment it’s hard to get staff even more so over the holiday period. However one part about staying in a hotel is enjoying that moment when you come back in the afternoon and all the house keeping is done. Something that didn’t happen this time.

I do apologise we were not able to service your room on the day of the public holiday. Indeed, as your per your observation, we had limited housekeeping staff as they had requested time off to spend time with their families. In anticipation of this, we had put up signs across all public areas and guest elevators that state housekeeping was limited and on request from the reception desk - however we note there was no request placed with the reception team for the day in question. As always, the reception team is on hand 24 hours to assist where we can, I am sorry we were not given the opportunity to rectify this during your stay. However, I hope the daily servicing was up to your expectations on the other 4 nights of your stay. I'm a regular guest at the Mercure Rouse Hill, and always have an enjoyable stay. All the staff from the front reception to the ladies who service the room, always make me welcome. The addition of the restaurant to enjoy breakfast or a meal is a positive addition. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

Stayed in 2 rooms for 3 nights (24 Dec to 27 Dec, Reservation number: LVNLBMLM), and no room service whatsover for all 3 nights (beds not made, towels not changed). What a shocker! Upon contacting the hotel after the stay we were told we had to request room service each day we want it. Where in the world would you stay in a hotel with no room service?!

Dear rtjia1, Thank you for your time in reviewing our hotel. While we have only received positive feedback, empathy, and understanding from the majority of our guests that stayed over the holiday season, I am dismayed to read that the limited housekeeping affected your friend's stay so negatively that you had to create a TripAdvisor account and pen a review even though you had not stayed. Due to staff shortages and the fact that the hospitality industry is still in the process of rebuilding their teams after the pandemic, we were unable to service every room in the hotel. This is communicated via signage in all public areas, elevators, and even verbally to our guests checking in. As listed on all signage, we at the reception desk are on hand to assist with any requests. Should anyone from your party brought this to our attention during the 3 night stay, we would have certainly assisted - where we are able to - in providing fresh linen, towels and amenities. Unfortunately, neither you nor your party provided us with the opportunity to do so. While we apologise for not being able to service your room, I would like to publicly appreciate our team's efforts in sacrificing time away from family and loved ones to serve our guests this holiday season. We seek understanding from all our guests for what we are unable to do, however, when given the opportunity to assist - we will always find a solution for our guests.
