BreakFree on Cashel's rooms are bright and modern. Situated in the heart of Christchurch's CBD, this hotel is non-traditional yet stylish. Rooms have fun furniture, stylish work spaces and blue lights under the bed, along with mood lighting in the bathroom. We have cozy rooms which are small yet effectively designed, featuring comfy beds, modular bathrooms, Smart TVs with apps on screen, paid digital channels and mirroring services. Premium rooms are spacious and feature an ensuite bathroom.

This is nothing more than a YMCA with tiny tiny bathroom (plastic) cubicles … the place is expensive considering what you get for the money and they pretend to be young, vibrant and cool … be careful as they might scumming you as they add the credit fee even when you pay by eftpost … I complained and it was not possible to reverse the transaction … the place appears tiered and new at the same time.

Requested ALL to look into getting better deal outside ALL platform, and they had counter a better price policy however it was said it is not applicable if price difference is due to I was a member on the other platform receiving some discounted rate. If that is the case, then do not publish your availability on Agoda or Booking.com. After screenshot everything, they said they will not counter or do anything better for a Silver ALL member. Hence, just went ahead to Agoda and booked with them, save at least USD20. It is still money after all. During arrival, on duty manager was pretty sure I would not fit my luggages and my party in the room, but I would suggest allow the guest to be the judge of that and if they would like to upgrade to a bigger room, then it is up to them. And although it sounds like he was trying to be helpful, but the tone sounds a little off and you get the judgemental feeling. True enough, I was able to maneuver and slot in under the bed as after traveling by flight, sometimes we are unsure where the toiletries are in which luggage. However, I do appreciate parking some baggage with the receptionist as I was told I would not fit all of them confidently by the duty manager. Well, I guess it just sounded you would like to get more revenue by asking the guest to upgrade and pay more. If you would like to be appreciating a Silver member by upgrading complimentary, then that would be a fantastic customer service.

We were very happy with the size of the room and the food in the restaurant was very, very good especially the Thai Chicken curry. Unfortunately 2 out of the 4 nights we stayed here we had cold water when we came to shower before heading out, however on the 2nd night we were offered another room to shower in which was right next door to our room which we really appreciated, so thank you very much.

Bed and room nice. Reception nice. Barista service not great, girl was rude and didn’t serve until she finished unlocking cupboards and needs a refresher course in customer service. The noise outside the hotel was horrendous, started at midnight and ended at 5.30am. No sleep, supposedly noise control had been called but nothing was done to stop noise.
