I specifically phoned to ensure we got the accommodation to suit only to find upon arrival my phone call was a waste of time and the staff at the facility had to make adjustments to try to accommodate us. In addition to the actual accommodation mess we then found out we couldn't even get breakfast. Never again to Mantra

Room was a little disappointing. Carpet was frayed, looked under the couch for a missing item and found a previous guests jocks and tub of Vaseline. There was no Cutlery to eat take away with or a beer or wine glass. The fan only turning on whilst moving in the bathroom is annoying too, can't leave it running after a smelly toilet visit

We were tired and the bed was v comfortable. There was a feeling of space and the view over the suburbs towards Mt Macedon was good. The shower had good pressure and although the ensuite was small filled what we needed.

My experience with the mantra was not as I expected, I had booked a hotel room with the city view balcony in early February and I hadn't been told that hotel would be undergoing renovations. I was told 3 days before my booking that I was not going to be getting the room I had booked, it was highly unorganised and unprofessional on the hotels behalf for not informing me of the changes when the renovations had started. I am not at all happy that my plans to propose to my partner were destroyed due to the unorganisation of the hotel and employees, it makes me not want to return to the hotel at all after the way things had been handled.

The first room we were given was not made and half stripped of furniture. The second room was better but we had no milk, cutlery or plates.

Nice quiet room and good amenities. The room was certainly on the list for an upgrade as the carpet was past its use by date and the room smelt musty. I suggest the price of the room should have been reduced as it seemed expensive for its condition.

Hi - I understand you are doing refurbishments at the moment however particularly at the moment, I don’t think we’ll be back. The rooms have always looked like they needed a refurb. It is getting too expensive to stay there for what you get.

I spent an extended amount of time at the Mantra during the difficult COVID period in Melbourne. I would like to acknowledge all the staff at the Mantra who made my stay so pleasant. Without hesitation I can say that l staff (Ravi, Chris, James, Ali, Tom, Maria, Jason, Avi, Ash, Danesh, Elizabeth, Mark the GM and so many others - sorry - I apologise for not remembering all names) were at all times both professional and very customer service focused. Well done to the whole team. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bell City complex to other travellers.

While the staff were lovely and they did everything they possibly could to help us, they were obviously working under trying times. We booked this hotel as it was conveniently located to where we needed to be and their restaurant came highly recommended. When we got there we couldn’t find the front door, drive the car in to the proper car park without the help of security staff and the restaurant was closed due to all the construction work. Nothing was mentioned on their website. The upside is that the beds were VERY comfortable

Worst Hotel ever. No warning it was a detention center

On arrival we found the main reception only to find the hotel is under major renovations and reception was now located somewhere else. We finally found reception to have it explained to us that our room had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Not sure why as we only needed one bed so an upgrade would have been to a better single room. The room was less than satisfactory. It was not a two bedroom it was one bedroom with two beds in it. We then heard yelling at the street below which was when we realised it was a detention centre. WTF we wanted to leave straight away but had no where else to go. If we had known we would never have stayed there. Ever!!! My wife was so scared the entire time she was there. There was no restaurant due to renovations. If we had have known that we would have looked at different accomodation. All I can say is this was the worst experience ever. Very disappointed.

We were a bit disappointed with our stay this time, there were limited services due to renovations and I accepted that but I found the signs were not clear to direct us to reception and ground level carpark. Our room was fine, but the pillows far too high and uncomfortable and we had to roll up clothes to use instead .There was not enough milk or normal tea bags. The reception staff were very helpful and gave us comfortable pillows the next day. I and more milk. I. Understand that towels could not be changed during our 3 day stay but overall I felt that it was not value for money and thought we could have been given a discount to offset the limited services.

I found the whole experience unsatisfactory. There was no service. I could not hear reception host because of construction noise. There was no basic housekeeping. I ended up with 2 bins full and extra bags of rubbish. When I asked what to do about rubbish I was told by reception to use my lift key to go to waste room. I had to repeatedly ask for milk each day. There was no cutlery. I could not ring reception to order dinner and breakfast on 2 occasions because the phone system was down. Reception could not process my card at end of stay because internet was down. Will never stay there again, and I have passed my opinion to others who might need a few nights accommodation.

Nice spot, rooms are pretty well looked after. Did find out after booking that apparently there were refugees being detained there for whatever reasons, so there were protestors around, but other than that it was fine. Got a free upgrade.
