Although we we required to leave earlier than we would have liked the Mantra on Collins was an excellent place to stay close to everything and a well looked after and very well kept hotel. The staff were helpful and very accommodating.

I booked over the phone. I made it clear that it would be two adults and a baby. I offered to bring my own cot and was told that that would be unnecessary and one would be provided. There was no cot on arrival and they did not ask at check in, despite holding my baby (11 months old). When we asked for a cot, we were told that there was not one available at the moment but they would look. Got a call half an hour later to say they had checked 6 floors (we were on floor 10) and couldn’t locate one so there was nothing they could do. I had to ask at reception again the following morning but did not get a cot until that afternoon. It was not set up for us so I couldn’t use it until the evening because my husband was visiting a family member at the hospital and I could not set it up on my own. When we did set it up, we discovered it was broken and one side would not stay assembled. Total waste of time. Made for a difficult trip. Unhelpful staff. Would not stay again despite proximity to hospital.

We live in Melbourne and were in Hobart with a relative visiting from the US, when he suddenly fell ill, was diagnosed with cancer, had to have surgery, and then ended up in hospice in Hobart right as the coronavirus restrictions came in to effect. We had been staying at another hotel, and when we told them what had happened and asked them to extend the room, they raised out nightly rate! We moved to the Mantra, where every single member of the staff has bent over backwards to help with our difficult situation. The professionalism and extra effort shown by your staff is a credit to your hotel. Thank you.

This hotel is a good ‘value for money’ hotel with clean and well presented rooms, comfortable beds and quiet location (especially rare in a CBD Location). The staff were friendly and helpful. It is within easy walking distance to the CBD and the wharf area.

First time at this hotel for a business trip and allocated a 1st floor room with (no) view onto Collins st. Not a good way to entice a potential regular back!

Hello B., Thank you for being a first time guest at Mantra Collins. I certainly hope that you will return to stay with us again and we will ensure that we place you on a higher floor with a better view. That week in Hobart was particularly busy due to conferencing in town so we had to utilise all floors in the hotel, however we were able to upgrade you into an Apartment though it was on the first floor. - Parking is 18 dollars if you leave it over night, after 24hrs you have to pay extra per hour - TV's were outdated - The extractor in the bathroom wasnt working and we couldnt open any windows - AC didnt work half the time + Good location as you are close to the Salamanca Market (10min walk)

The room was far from clean. Mildew in shower recess. Curtains very stained in multiple places. Wall damaged, whole unpaired, air conditioning not working. Had booked 2 nights left after first night. Was told on site parking, but found parking was in expensive public car park. As Accor member I was extremely disappointed. Not value for the expense.

We spent most of our time out of the hotel which was good as the room was very small with nowhere to sit other than the bed. Other than that room was clean and well appointed. The location was central and good tourist information.

We enjoyed our 5 day stay in a clean, quiet, spacious access room with a lovely kitchenette. Located a quick 2 block walk from the fabulous harbour front. Very comfortable bed. Only negatives were the lack of clothing hooks and an extra toiletry shelf in bathroom otherwise perfect room for those with mobility issues or needing extra space.
