The room was nice, the bed very comfy, and the balcony spa bath was the best. We also enjoyed the outdoor whirl pool and bbq sofa area. Even though covid19 restrictions, check in and check out was uncomplicated.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay near great eateries with easy access to swimming areas.

Good Moring, I often hear locals say business of Cairns and the surrounding areas don’t care for locals. In light of the world's recent events, I will say that it is refreshing to see a huge emphasis on locals and our own 'backyard'. In no time at all, you can definitely see the effects in Cairns and would think it would flow on to the small surrounding areas. I often stay at Mantra hotels within Australia. Last year was the first time I stayed at Heritage in Port and fell in love. Since then I have been highly recommending it to many. I was in two minds about staying the night in the current climate as I was travelling up for work but it didn't take much convincing and wanted to support the local community. I am sadden to say how disappointing the experience was and in the current times, there was really no excuse for it. Firstly, everyone is offering deals of some kind at the moment. I contacted Mantra direct and nothing could be offered. I then found what I thought a great deal on a site I had not used before and it was not till after the booking I realised all the prices were in US dollars so I paid a lot more than I anticipated but I accepted that and moved on. I asked of the possibility of a late or early check in out and nothing could be accommodated for as they said they would have to do a deep clean of the room to have it ready for us. I also specially upgrade the room and requested a bath/ spa but when I finished work and got to the room, I then saw a sign on the spa that said it had to be filled and to contact staff by 3.00pm which would take hours to heat. I have stayed at a number of hotels and motels with such spas and I find most of them at least filled on arrival or I am asked if it should be prepared. On recent stays away from home, I have noticed the higher standards in cleaning of rooms at various hotels and motels which is also refreshing. However to see your standards drop in this current climate was very disappointing. I didn’t want to touch most things in the kitchen. Also the customer service was just not there. They were very unprofessional seemed foreign and that they were too use to serving no one and it was a hassle to now serve. The time spent in the room on Friday and Saturday morning, was also accompanied by loud building works which had to be right next to us. Most hotels give you the heads up if this is going to be the case. I really am sad to have found a new place that I loved so much and on my second return have such a bad experience. Paying full price plus dealing with the above you can understand left us very disappointed and what made it even more so was the fact that the hotel was empty. There was about lights in four rooms on during the evening, and we saw no one until Saturday morning which was three people using the pool. I don't understand why small benefits couldn’t be offered when other businesses are bending over backwards for customers at the moment and what we were asking for I don't consider to be extreme. It is sad that the current times has not prompt your business to give better services.

We stay at the Mantra Heritage almost every time we stay in Port Douglas. Although it is located right on Macrossan Street, it is tucked away and is a little oasis that personifies the FNQ experience. Make sure you book a swim out apartment or room. It's well worth it!

Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to the Corona Virus, but in the short time we were there we were very impressed, particularly with the location. The facilities were clean and the gardens were lovely.

Good staff seemed to care, the location was very good, comfortable bed and place was clean. Negative side was 2 days had cold showers as no hot water, Internet was hit and miss, the decor seemed tired. Also building work going on next door with pneumatic drill going from 8am to 4pm so did not stay by the pool.

The plus was location right in the middle of the main street and the pool was nice and relaxing, but that was all that I enjoyed. The room we had was a one bedroom king suite with an in suite jacuzzi on the porch. The room smelled musty, when we checked in the front office was closed so the keys were given out via phone so no opportunity to talk to someone for a room change, the internet worked for about 3 hours the 3 days we were there. Being on vacation I had conference calls that I needed to be on and could not with the internet out. The air conditioner was one unit that was in the bedroom and only cooled the bedroom if the doors were closed and the rest of the suite stayed hot. There are numerous cute little boutique hotels in the area, I’d pick one of those.

Got upgraded to a swim up hotel room, awesome. Located smack in the middle of town. Easy access to shops and groceries. Loads of restaurants walking distance. Easy walk to marina. Lovely swimming pools. Staff very friendly and helpful.

had to move rooms as tiler making loud noise .unit balcony very dirty .no beach towels had to ask . Kitchen tools dirty and frying pan unusable .cooking top not been cleaned for months just wiped . No coffee machine .
