Our overall week stay at Mantra on Hay in Perth was great. The hotel is well located. We could walk everywhere and have the option to get on the free bus around the city, if we chose to. The room is clean, amenities provided. Carpark could be slightly cheaper for guests staying in the hotel as that would be the only reason, we will choose another hotel next time we visit Perth. On the day of checkout, the overall stay was marred due to a call from the assistant manager to ask when we were checking out. (I had requested for a late check out the day before from staff member and it was agreed and granted that we are allowed to check out at 11am). The assistant manager specifically said on the phone that "I was on duty yesterday" as if implying that I was lying. I was taken aback with the tone. How then did she get promoted to be an assistant manager if the manner in which she engaged with me was rude and condescending?! That is also another reason why I would choose not to stay with Mantra on Hay next time we visit.

Arrived in around 9.30pm from Darwin and checked into a room on level 2. Having stayed here a few times was quite taken back by the stale cigarettes smell in my room and balcony. Yuk!!! terrible experience why let people smoke in these apartments at all. Never again Mantra on Hay

The hotel is conveniently located, however the facilities are becoming run down compared to our stay 4 years ago. The 3 aircons in the family room have one remote; and the piping makes a rattling sound at night. There is very little to no storage in the bedrooms. The hot water in the shower is erratic at best; and the amenities provided are not enough to last between room service (one week in our case) but can be requested from hotel staff. The kettle won't open and the toaster burns bread even on the lowest setting. There is no way to extract air out of the laundry or the kitchen when cooking. The water level in the pool is quite low. Overall, not quite 'run down' but heading towards that way. Hopefully there is an investment in the upkeep and refurbishment of the apartments in the near future.

Great apartment hotel in a good area. Some areas starting to look a little tired and there was some damage to the bath and shower in the room we had. Not as much equipment in the room as there has been previously, removal of wardrobes and dressing tables a disappointment for storing clothes for a longer stay.

Well appointed rooms, super layout, extremely convenient!

This 2 bed, 2 bath - Family room was superb in layout. The layout of the living room with the bedrooms was super cosy and spacious. The dinning area was huge and convenient. The kitchen was large too. The washer + dryer facility super convenient for our stay. Only point of concern since my elderly father was with us was the bath-tub in the second bathroom - so we had to use only one bath which had a shower cubicle. Also the Wi-Fi was really bad - since my son had certain important work related and Uni related mails to be sent and paperwork to be uploaded....we had a tough time with the Wi-Fi being really bad. The kitchen could have had a few more cooking pots and extra big bowls to use for dishes as being a family that became too much of a work load to keep shifting and juggling between dishes - had to use quite a few of ours. Bathroom fittings in the in suite were a bit of the older variety hence the shower water mixing became an issue at times apart from being extremely small especially for my 6 footer son. The staff was super courteous and helped us instantly with extra towels and all since housekeeping was only on Thursdays. The parking bays were cramped and we had some tough times squeezing between vehicles. Security was great. Even our welcome drink concept was very welcome.
