This hotel has a great location within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Staff were all lovely and very welcoming. We had a two room apartment and their was plenty of space for our family with the added bonus of two bathrooms and laundry facilities in the main bathroom.

Needs a good clean

What the staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful it did not look as if the place had been cleaned properly in a long while. The screen door fell off on opening and we were a bit scared to sit in the couch. The door to the pool was also in need of repair. Despite the awesome staff and great location we would not stay again.

We had a bit of trouble I couldn’t get in the room the card wouldn’t work then I finally got in then went out and it locked me out again happened like 3 times I was getting sick of it

Great location but varied service

Having stayed here before, I chose the Mantra for a holiday without border issues and its great location in central Canberra. Selected a one bedroom apartment so we’d have space to settle in for over a week and the option of a sofa bed, should we need. The kitchenette is great for organising breakfast or afternoon drinks and nibbles, as is the balcony. Full size fridge great for travellers. However, only weekly housekeeping puts a dent in being in holiday mode, especially when it came to Day 8 and still the garbage remained, floors were dusty and no replenishing the 1 dishwashing tablet, nor change of sheets and so on. When I spoke to the woman on the desk late on the afternoon of Day 8, her response was to offer to give me more dishwasher tablets. As I told her, I don’t sleep in the same sheets for 8 nights at home, let alone when paying well over a thousand dollars to stay in a Mantra. Luckily, one staff member, Jayben, in particular was very helpful and welcoming, he organised for housekeeping to come and sweep, change the bed, remove garbage, replenish amenities and so on. I would think rather than providing NO housekeeping for an 8 night stay, offering to provide housekeeping on Day 5 or 6, well within the weekly housekeeping paid for would make sense. Jayben was helpful throughout out my stay. Unfortunately other staff weren’t as pleasant. Another older man wasn’t at all welcoming when I let him know on Day 2 that as my partner hadn’t been able to travel to Canberra, a friend was coming for 2 nights and would use the sofa bed. I’d booked an apartment deliberately to ensure we had the sofa bed in case travel arrangements had to change in these COVID times but I was told it would be an additional cost per night to have the second person in an apartment that advertises maximum of 4. I explained I’d booked for 2 people and I’d only have 2 people for 2 of the 8 nights and that I’d deliberately booked the apartment instead of the much cheaper hotel room so I’d have the sofa bed should travel arrangements need to change. I think possibly this man was the manager who’d signed the card welcoming me as a silver Accor member – he most definitely didn’t make me feel welcome at all. He eventually waived the additional cost as he should since I’ve just attempting another booking and there’s nothing that says the two people in the apartment have to share the double bed, instead of the bed and sofa bed advertised in the one bedroom apartment. My feelings are very mixed as to whether I would return, Jayben was very friendly and welcoming but during such difficult times for tourism, the other staff’s treatment of me and the lack of housekeeping means it would probably be easier to stay at a different hotel.

Short Staycation - location was great. The hotel itself is dated and felt a bit grubby. My wife indicated she would not use the pool/sauna on her own as she didn't feel safe due to needing to navigate the fire stairs and some dark corridors to get to the pool.

Nice location, however the AC remote was broken, TV remote was missing, bed was stripped and not made when I came in one day, bird poo all over the veranda so didn’t go out there.

The service was non existent and when asked for ice we were told that none was available. There were no utensils in the room available and no room service for the $ 300 in excess that we paid.

This hotel is not back up to speed despite how COVID has been handled. While many other hotels I stay at have food and room cleaning this one does not. I had pigeons nesting on my balcony and all the accompanying detritus and the heater barely kept me warm. It is getting tired and needs some work.

Spider webs on balcony , table is terrible condition on balcony(mould) Our friends in other room had not cleaned at all balcony(looked like vomit or somebody throw food on table plus spider webs(old) 1st room fridge didnt work and second room dishwasher was leaking ... poor expeirence about this hotel ... sorry guys but look like there is no management ... guys in reception very nice!

The motel is excellent but I feel they should accommodate Platinum members better. This is the second time I have stayed there and the restaurant and bar is still not open. It would be good to have a real breakfast instead of the dry food they have in the room. As a platinum member I feel parking should be complimentary, not an extra expense.
