We had a wonderful stay at Port Sea - room was very comfortable and clean. Able to cook breakfast in our room was a bonus. Staff were friendly and attentive. Have booked to return next April - a lovely place to visit and stay.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool is amazing. We loved our room modern, clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for beach walks and a short drive to town and the wharf also walkable.

a group of 3 for my 30th came to the resort to stay. We had a 2 bedroom room, the room was very averagely cleaned, the bathroom had just been wiped over (toilet still had some remains of the previous tenant) The bar, cafe, spa and breakfast room were all closed so other than sleep, change clothes and a swim in the pool we didn't stay at the resort at all during the day as there was nothing open for us to stay. When we arrived there was 2 elderly ladies checking in and the receptionist was clearly annoyed that the ladies could not use their room which had stairs to get to the room. they were asked to take a seat and wait for another room to be allocated - The ladies had 2 bags which they clearly had problems carrying - I was shocked that not a single staff member offered to help them with their bags, so I assisted them to the couch and moved their bags for them. The pool was lovely and cool, however again was really disappointing that the bar was closed - I understand social distancing but there is no reason for that area to be closed. we ended up having our afternoons at the ramada down the road as they were hay for us to use their swim up bar (which we spent quite a large amount of money in)

Hotel is well located and presents well. Lack of cleaning staff is evident (possibly due to COVID19), we had to clean the BBQ area ourselves as table, chairs & surrounding area was filthy & bins were overflowing. Reception staff were helpful & very pleasant. Some work must have been carried out in our room as plaster dust was left behind & not cleaned. The room was modern & very comfortable for our 3 day stay.

11 day stay sheets and towels changed once but unit not cleaned - floors and bathroom dirty. Our room 30 was beside where smokers congregated and also drank. In room 30 the lamp shades are mouldy, the outdoor furniture on side b is dangerous and rotting, the fridge still had food in it when we arrived from previous people, blinds are ripped, dead insects around floor, dust thick on ceiling fan blades, mould around air con. General outside areas in need of major improvement. In 2020 it is hard to believe a unit has no laundry facilities. To make things worse the communal laundry facilities needed coins and no body had money because of covid and the use of plastic I did take photos of everything I have mentioned above and am happy to supply them. I am amazed Portsea gives itself the rating it has because I believe it is around a 3 and as an owner of a unit in bale at peppers Kingscliff I believe this property is not up to standards in being a part of the mantra group And is dragging down the entire mantra brand

Overall stay was good, rooms weren't 100% clean with thick dust under beds on fans and under couches, also found few dead cockeroaches

It is not our usual standrad for dust and cockroaches to be in a room after we have cleaned it and I apologise that we have let you down in this area. We look forward to the day that we are able to open our Pool Bar and are currently in the process of rebuilding our team so that we can do this. The room, service and hotel amenities were perfect (apart from the pool bar and restaurant closure). The floor was a little dirty in the room with glass on the kitchen floor but with the mop I was able to clean this myself without relying on staff.

Our room got upgraded to a spa room, which was great because that's what I originally wanted but cheaped out. Unfortunatly the pool bar was closed which I was looking forward to. Lots of families with kids but still felt trendy and relaxing for a couples getaway. The beds were VERY comfy.

The rooms were lovely and the pool area was beautiful at night. Shame the pool bar wasn't open but hopefully tourism keeps picking up! Great service too. The reception staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Everything was pretty good except no room service and not being able to get any food on site

Great balance of affordability, amenity and location! Only disappointment was the pool bar not being open, despite being featured in advertising photos on booking.com

Whilst other places were close to fully functioning, it was disappointing that the breakfast, pool bar and even the coffee machine were all out of order, yet we still paid a full resort price for the stay.

Unfortunately with the breakfast room it was a continental buffet which is no longer allowed. We are working hard to rebuild our team and work on our COVID safew practises to ensure we are operating safely for guests and staff. This does take time but we are looking forward to the day when we can open these facilites again. We spent a week catching up with family and friends at Mantra Portsea Port Douglas. We enjoyed our stay very much. The accommodation was very comfortable and the location very convenient. The pool area was lovely and comfortable. We were disappointed though that there were no meals served and that the drinks bar in the pool area was closed. I'm guessing this is all due to covid but I would have thought that if places were trying to lure customers back in 2020 that these services would be back in place. Other accommodation places were serving food and drinks so that's where we went to spend some days. Because of this, I would not stay at Mantra Portstea again until these services were back in place.
